Miao Jing as character she was written well. I wasnt expecting for them to talk about those issues.
Others may say they both are from totally different places. But that was never the problem.
Chen Yi was not only her lover but also her parent in a way. And thats why he tries to hold it all himself. So she safe and happy. His wish never changed from back then. He does not see himself to be part of her happy days, that he too deserves his safe and happy life.
While Miao Jing tries to make him understand that, its again something Chen Yi should understand himself. Maybe when he finally lets Miao Jing and others protect him he will heal. I am happy they had that conversation in the beach.

"i dont want to be your burden anymore Chen Yi, Goodbye" That was his nightmare. Her leaving him. In the past and present. When her mom came back to take her back he waited outside the bus stop the whole time waiting to see if she will still need him in some way.

I know im also watching for 10 years now. Used to watch more kdramas but these days cdramas are doing it better. Never imagined i would say such a thing but these days cdramas over kdramas for me

It felt like he was lying in that situation. But yes it could be true too, honestly i dont care much about their past because these two are precious and their love for one another needs no doubt.

There is no in between them. Like they cant write interesting characters without those traits.

Right?? i repeat some of those scenes a few times. Whenever Zhang Bi chen's ost plays and i know its going to be a beautiful scene. That thermometer breaking scene, while the two were looking at that bottle with leftover pieces? Symbolic and artistics.

They do romanticise ml being single for that one women way too much. Especially because its very rare in real life so they sell it well in dramas.

But here, i think Chen Yi didnt have any other relationship. Boy did not have time for that. For the past 3 years he had Tu Li the fake girlfriend so other girls dont approach him. Before that i think he was busy getting traumatised. While its possible he may have had someone despite that, their significance in his life basically nothing .
Since i read a lil on Novel Chen Yi i prefer this.

In the drama their relationship is healthy and non toxic. Chen Yi pushed her away and took decisions for her life, which was wrong but we can understand at that point Miao Jing is still young and cant do much.
But if she were to live all those years thinking only about him then that would be unhealthy. That would be staying in the past without living her present. That wouldnt be Miao Jing. She is a person who always grows up to be better. Chen Yi wanted that for her.
And years later girl came back to get her family cause even after all that Chen Yi remained in her heart. Miao Jing is so cool for doing that. She's not completely letting herself go down, girl lives steadily. Which was something Chen Yi gave to her, the stable life. So she is back to give him the same.

I mean shouldnt that be the reason to love her more?? She's so mature and not a child anymore. Our girl has grown to be such an awesome and cool person.
Only if you try out things will you know what you want in life. She did that and now she's back because after everything Chen Yi still meant more than anyone. So shes here back in Teng City to get what she wants in such a cool way.

Being honest with Chen yi eill get her kicked out. And its been years, they seperated in a way that they would never see the other.
So ofc there’s a gap. She doesn’t know the present him. And mostly her lies are harmless to ragebait him.

And the big one, why shes in that city? She cant say shes working against the shady guy zhang and also to get back together with him, her ex boyfriend.

So Miao Jing’s way is like slowly boiling the frog so it doesn’t jump out

Her anger is valid. She is mad for him. Because he let himself live that life and lost their promises. Atleast in her pov. which is also true to a certain extent

Nope thats not how you deal with someone who will lie to protect you. Chen Yi already did that and thats why Miao Jing doesn’t tell him everything. Its giving his own medicine back in small doses.
And her lie helped her deal with his stubborn ass. Im sure they will tell each other soon. Present has to be better than past nah.

Chen yi’s goal is simple, protect miao jing even if it costs everything.
Miao Jing’s goal is also simple in a way. Protect Chen Yi, such that he will do it for her. Keep himself safe for her and for their happy ending
