The past few eps are so healing. Their home is their safe place. You know everything is good as long as they are in their home. Both their parents are gonna and they are struggling financially but these are the most peaceful days of their life.
But we know how this ends. These days will be gone soon. Im in the middle of ep 8 and i can feel it. Right after they started talking about the marriage i knew it . His days are numbered. I feel so bad for all of them. Why is the world so unfair to the good hard working people.
He is actually much more darker and flawed in the novel . I wish they had kept some of those aspects
If drama miao jing saw him the same way as novel her, i would be hating on her character. Im just saying there are differences. Novel miao jing saw a different chen yi. And her reactions are valid. But to me it feels like betrayal cause i saw drama version of him. Who was nothing but perfect.
I cant go back and forth. So im choosing to stick with drama first. Let me just love my babies here.

And they made him sound like some street thug in the novel. While in the drama, he was this hard working boy who couldn’t escape his situations. Because of his father. Because of her mother. And despite all that he doesnt blame her and works hard for her future. So when she thought of him as some street thug who wasted his life. That shit hurt.
Was he like that in the novel, or was she misunderstanding him? Both are situations i dont like. Hence for me drama is currently it

Unused condom? Girls hair on his bed? The first thing he said to her when they met: Didnt you say you would come over tonight to sleep? He thought it was Tu Li in his house.
The problem with reading the novel and watching the drama at the same time is, its gonna mix up in my head. I wouldn’t remember which happened in which. I just started the first chapter of the novel and i dont like how they described chen Yi. Or atleast this is how Miao Jing sees him

But drama Chen Yi. Whatever happened or happens, we all know how hard working that boy was. For a better life. When he couldn’t have that, he did it for her. It’s sad that novel Miao Jing doesn’t know that.

Facing the same problems. I did this with hidden love . Read the novel as soon as i saw them making a drama about it. Novel was so good. Overall light hearted, thats why i could watch the drama. But im scared this is too heavy and i can only do it once. Drama or novel.
Chen yi worship: If Miao Jing didnt have Chen Yi then she may have thought her mom did care about her. But Chen Yi showed what true love is. Chen yi was there for her birthday. He was there in that ship to save her. Accompanied her after that when he could have just left. Evn when her mother stole everything from him, he was there to protect her. Fought the people who bullied her. This boy is struggling himself yet cant see her suffer in any way. He is actually more like her parent than her actual mother.
One may think he is cold and shut off character who doesnt talk much. But his interactions with Miao Jing shows his personality. Cold ml who? Chen Yi is endlessly giving when it comes to her.
Idk about Chen Yi from novel but this guy in the drama is way too perfect. So much that i cant accept a single slander against him. He is perfect wish he was mine kinda perfect
