They talked about their story together and have to spend the night in the countryside. They unravel some mystery about Do-ha and Ri-ta, bring back the ancestral rite and yonghwa and joon oh becomes couple. They are indeed the reincarnation of doha and rita in a happier and peaceful time.
We can even added the do-ha ghost saying that she'll better return the book or he'll kill her but in ghostly written form. It's cliche but my mind goes like that with this story

She was his bidding but also he sacrifice himself to help her. Toxic is when you are gonna burn the person you desire if they don't like you back. It's more than that.
