Exactly, the reveal of his past and backstory was highly anticlimactic and a let down. It didn't even clearly confirmed that Su Changli isn't the same one Changli of his dream. We were badly deprived indeed. 😫

In Wushuang's arc when SMY went to avenge his family and city, he went alone as Zhou You'an and took his revenge without other people of Blood River interfering much if at all. In his fight with the Old City Lord he was alone. It was about SMY and his past.

I only expected that would be the same case for SCH's revenge and past grievance, specially as we didn't have an entire streched out fight of him. He also was fighting with Zhou Qing as a survived Miao boy not the Patriarch, I was looking forward for him to pull a Miao trick out of his sleeve or use some ancient techniques of his village but they went and stole his thunder and revealed SMY's demonic form and made eveything about him again.

I can't help but find myself thoroughly disappointed about this.

An exciting and enjoyable watch but tbh not exactly what I anticipated and had in mind. After the ending I find myself rather unsatisfied with some subplots and characters but still I'll remember the Blood River fondly in the future. I have a little complain though...

She isn't that love struck, if she is at all. She doesn't do anything unreasonable or goes out of her way for the sake of love. Even when she makes enquiries about TLY it's a double use, both personal and Bloor River business.

Even she didn't spit in being the family head's face to go become a housewife.

I haven't watched todays eps. yet, will see them tomorrow but now we've reached the ending I can only lament about how criminally underused Xie family, Mu Ciling, Mu Ying and Zodiacs were.

Hope af least they make some appearance at the final big fight.

I didn't mean their ending. I couldn't find the sources but I read he said treat this as a parallel universe, I meant that. Also GJ and CHS have told their characters are different.

Most of the times I dislike people writing/making prequels after they'd already finished a story as they end up having a lot of inconsistency and OOCness.

This is the case here, writer liked BR and wanted to write them a separate story but he regreted their ending and is changing it here.

Seriously, I must stop reading fanfictions while this is still airing, I keep wanting things to happen. It's spoiling my mind🥴🫠

Quite agree with your points. I like her too but the romance line sucks and diminish the story highlights. Muyu being content with mixing herbs is weird, I believe this is because he doesn't know anything beside the sword and fighting, even if he hadn't became an assassin, he still be would be a swordman and as SCH once told him, he can't do anything beside killing. BHH is the first person he has met outside of BR circle and the closest thing to an ordinary life so he's clutching to her and follows her. She like Nan'an city, he likes there too, she want an apothecary, he gives her money and home to open a clinic despite not knowing the first thing about medicine. And it's not the kind of romance I care for. This story is about BR and I would've wanted the other characters being more explored but well .....

This poisonous worms refining drugged puppets subplot reminds me of The Kingdom and everytime I think of that drama I think about how the creators went and add story's-not-finished-yet scenes for a perfectly wrapped up story then even made a prequel about an active enemy only to leave it at that, then I become all irritated...🥴😵‍💫
