They definitely should have tied the knot back in Gamlin, right when she suggested it.

Actually, I do think that Yake is not as bad as the rest. What she did was unforgivable for sure, but still, the adults should have known better. Yake was impressionable, hurt (FL did not pass on the flowers to her brother), flattered by SML and when pushed made a cruel choice. But she didn’t design nor set the trap. FL won’t target Yake, I think, but her own choices - starting with her choice of husband - will be her downfall.

EP19: Great cinematography. Am I the only one wondering how the emperor is up to date on ML’s love life? Sure he met them together back in the day. But it is 7-8 years later now, anything could have happened in the meantime, and ML kept his cards close to his chest, to protect FL. They must have made a lasting first impression as ‘couple with unbreakable bond’ on the emperor when they were both ready to die for each other, or ML and the emperor regularly talk about ML’s relationship status, or both. 😉

Having read the spoilers I now really look forward to Ep 18…

So, the struggle will continue in court with ML in a high position? They might have had a better and longer life *together*, if they had remained salt smugglers. Just sayin’. 🙄

Ok, but how and where does she live during those 5 years? She can’t return to her family and use her old identity after the scandal and the confessions burnt, or can she? And in her new identity there is no male protection any more and her fiance, with whom she lived and played house, has - in the view of the world - severed all ties. So, how does this work?

I am still not convinced waiting with the marriage is the better/ less risky path, though.

Same. This is beyond me. Filial piety cannot extend to a family that not only disavows but tries to kill you. Be done with them. (I make an exception for her mum.) Or is it really what is needed so their marriage won’t create problems for him at court? But still. ML shows respect where none is due. Just inform Dad and threaten him if he objects. Or buy him off.

SML really is something. Orchestrating for FL to lose everything based on some slander, not even batting an eyelid when she supposedly dies - he knew very well how and why. Her dead - no problem. But her living a life below her former standards - scandalous, how can ML DO THIS to her?

Obviously, it has always just been for his own selfish interests. But how can he look at himself in the mirror, while pulling this off? And how can he face FL without dying from shame?!?

Just rewatched the Ep 20 preview. I know this isn’t going to happen in this drama, but only from those snippets I’ve seen you could think at that point ML was stringing FL along. “Oh, I have to make it to the top so I can protect you… btw. to get to the top the only way is to marry the daughter of minister Soandso. Hey, but if you like, you can be my concubine….” 🤪 I know it won’t happen, I just hope the storyline WHY they REALLY need to wait is covincing, even though this leaves her in a precarious situation - unmarried but still at times unguarded regarding her interactions with ML. I mean, they embraced and kissed in public, played house… at a time when some random guy stealing her underwear could ruin a woman.

Almost sounds like they are sandbagging him (?). But why would they? Surely they can’t all be in cahoots, pressuring him to extend the contract or so? What is this, the modern day real life version of TRTS?

Doesn’t reflect well on her son, though. She must despair over this brick head. Also; ah, I want to get ahead all by myself, I’m my own man, righteous and just. And, by the way, can I just bag the whole salt trafficking business for my fam…?!?

Don’t get me wrong, l enjoy the drama, but this irks me.

So, what is the point of a recommendation letter and a “new identity” from a crown prince and now emperor, when his underlings not just ignore it, but actually choose to actively harm you? And based on your old identity, no less. In view of how adamant the crown prince was that ML “take this chance”, the whole affair gets even more pathetic.

I wonder that, too. 6 months in the military, and the 2ML said something about “years”. So my guess would be 2-3 years?

At least ML now, after ep 16, clearly understands that FL sees 2ML clearly and doesn’t have any second thoughts…

Seriously? 10 more to go?!? That’s worse than I thought…

On top of that, he almost got her killed. And didn’t he already get the memo when FL chose to walk away with ML instead of become his concubine? Surely he is aware of that?
