We got confessions from both in the audio drama (sadly only half of the episodes are translated) and I think, Chen Yuzhi reciting the poem (in the TV show) from which Jiang Yuelou got his name, telling him that he'd like to stay at his side forever and all the things Jiang Yuelou did for Chen Yuzhi can kinda count as confessions. I fell so hard for their romance, I feel silly sometimes (but in a very good way 🥰) and it didn't weaken over the last 3.5 years. If you read fanfics, let me recommend the 400+ fics on AO3. We are just a few writers but maybe the most dedicated ☺️

The novel is definitely more on the romantic side (even the drama was freaking romantic, especially for a Chinese production). It's still very restrained but the novel added more layers especially to the relationship between YueZhi and one scene in the no el literally made my heart skip a few beats. It's Chinese so you won't get like kisses and too obvious confessions but you can see it in their eyes, the love. And the chemistry made my heart skip a beat not just once. How they look at each other, the touches, the sneaky Jiang Yuelou who made Chen Yuzhi feel shy and embarrassed 😁😁😁 They're so in love that even the support characters understood very fast. Give it a try if you haven't already started it. Like I said so many times already, that's the most romantic CBL I've ever watched.
