Title The Glory Spoiler
So it's a thriller without any romance? (I haven't started the series).
It depends on what kind of romance you're looking for. To me, this show is romantic in its own special way. I know some people feel it lacks romance or isn't romantic enough, but I personally find the way they portray love and connection to be both unique and poetic. It's not your typical lovey-dovey storyline with grand promises or traditional courtship. There isn't a lot of outright expression, but everything is done through subtle and micro gestures—symbolism/hidden meanings. Despite all the deceit, lies, and intellectual rivalry, there is a genuine sense of respect and attraction, and, eventually, developed feelings. But you have to remember that the focus is on revenge, the battle of wits, and their own personal goals, which are to survive and protect their families.

Thank you. ^^

This is not modern times. Back then people were very mature very young and were getting married very Young too.…
Is she not acting like an adult? How is she supposed to act after her mom, her stepdad, her mom's nanny, and her mom's maid died? Then, her father and brother took turns harming her, and she had to witness the death of another family member. On top of that, she had to get married the very night all this happened. What a memorable wedding, right? It’s not like she mistreated Ah Zhi. If anything, she’s just being honest with her. As Yunxi said, she just needs some time. I’m really glad Yunxi understands and didn’t blame her. Even someone who's 47 or 57 would have struggled to cope with all of that, let alone handle it as well as she has. My point is, even as adults, we have moments where it’s okay to give ourselves the space to heal.

Thank you :3

I know some people are upset about how Hanyan was with Ah Zhi (the niece/stepdaughter). This is my take on it.
Her mother was brutally murdered and died in her arms, which completely destroyed her. In her broken state, she tried to fight a solo battle against her dad, who had an actual army. Knowing she would probably fail, I feel like she indirectly wanted to end her life because she felt there was no reason to live anymore. But Fu Yunxi helped her regain some perspective, reminding her, "You shouldn’t end your life like this." She had longed for a family, but her own family had killed her mother and tried to kill her. Her father and brother took turns, and her brother accidentally ended his own life. I’m sure she carried guilt for her role in his death. She once said, "Perhaps, if I had grown up with you, maybe we would have been close too." By this point, I’m sure she developed PTSD. It makes sense that she feels distant from everyone—even the little girl she once adored. I believe she put up a barrier, as PTSD often involves emotional numbness or detachment, especially in response to close or intimate interactions. After experiencing so much trauma, the hug could trigger overwhelming emotions, and her body might instinctively pull back as a defense mechanism.

Thank you. ^^

FL commented on the multiple stabbing wounds on her mom’s body so I think she’s dead dead.
Yep, he did. That crazy, psychotic lunatic, eyes squinting creepo. Just because she refused to tell him that she loved him. The fact that they mentioned he stabbed her not just once, but multiple times, suggests he’s deeply troubled and indicates severe emotional and psychological issues—and they explained why.

I'm very baffled with the screenwriter choices. This is an hystorical drama, not a modern drama. Ok, following…
It's historical fiction, so the accuracy can vary depending on the approach. Historical fiction may blend real historical events with fictional elements. While some aspects are based on actual history, others are imagined by the creators to explore different periods and create engaging stories. It's about balancing fact with creativity to bring the past to life in an entertaining way.

Thank you. :3

Trust yourself more than us. Go into it with an open mind. If you don’t get hooked like I did, it’s okay to drop it. At least you gave it a try, and thank you for that. As for me, I’m really fond of this drama. I’ve enjoyed every episode, even the latest ones. What stands out to me is the symbolism and the subtle gestures that you can only appreciate if you enjoy paying attention to details. For once, they don’t zoom in on every little thing and spell things out for you. You can tell that everyone poured their heart into this, even the minor characters, to help make it a success. In addition to the great acting, I truly admire the cinematography, the costumes, and the soundtrack. The lyrics really resonate with me, and I’ve been playing one of the songs on repeat because I’m so moved by the lyrics.

With all that said, I hope you’ll join me/us in embracing this journey. If you do and enjoy it, I’ll be holding your hand and handing you tissues.

Thank you :3
