Thank you for the effort, dear, i'll check it out.
So much historical dramas that came out this summer. What do I watched first? Especially when there's so much…
I'd suggest "Bloody Romance", by all means. Great cinematography, captivating storyline, well chosen and passionately acting cast, beautiful images and soundtrack. Mesmerizing storytelling and gorgeous colours. Refreshing in all of its aspect and definitely not one of those stories told a 1000 times before.

Do you, by chance, have a link? That would be great.

One question: Does Qu Chu Xiao perform the song himself? It would be fitting, right?
Many thanks again for your passionate work on "Bloody Romance"!!! I can tell you, I longed for seasons two for "Princess Agents" and "Tribes and Empires", but since I've watched "Bloody Romance", I know, that the sequel for this one is the only sequel I really need!!!

In my opinion, the ending is well done, but I think, for all who expected an ending like "and they lived happily ever after in their little cottage with a big flowery garden trying keep their half a dozen children together" it won't be satiyfying. This is a dark romance story and to me the ending is satisfying because it's fits the mood of the series and the way it got told..
This is one of those series you really need to invest time and grow with. It's boring in the beginning heck it's…
I'll think it over. Thank you for this hint.
The slow pace isn't actually the only problem I have, though. When I read a longer plot summary, lately, and some detailed charcater introductions, I was all like "not again"... X falls in love with the heroine, Y falls in love with the heroine, Z falls in love with the heroine... I wonder, if it's possible to do a historical-political drama without every man available falling for the all awesome heroine, who's to become a better man in her disguise than all real men around her and who's to become a witty general, better than all generals ever before and bla bla bla... *rolls eyes*
Romance or affection isn't defined by the number of hugs a couple shares. It's in the tenderness and in Chang An's…
You speak my mind. It's not that "love-at-first-sight"-cliché we get served here, its a love that grows, that gets based on respect first and not on skills or looks or money. They love each other, despite the fact that they both failed each other, despite the fact that they both made mistakes, despite the fact that they both carry their scars and so on... Interesting, though, that this also goes for Cha Luo and Xing Feng. And, yes, you're right about today's way to hunt for "love" and good looks only. It's so rare to find longtime couples married for ten, twenty or even fifty years. But it's easier to divorce or to split up than to solve your problems and to overcome them together...
Don't watch this drama for romance because the most you can get out of it is probably like 3 hugs
Romance or affection isn't defined by the number of hugs a couple shares. It's in the tenderness and in Chang An's way to touch her when he teaches her, it's in his will to bear everything for her, it's in her forgiving him, it's in the way how they look at each other and how they say each others names. Why do people always define love, romance and affaction by the number of hugs and kisses shown??? That's utterly superficial.
I'm all with you in this! A sequel is needed and maybe it's a blessing that the novel never got finished. With the author having been involved in the writing process and progress of the series, this is a great chance for the sequel and for a possible continuation of the novel.
1. Despite the major differences between the novel and the drama series, the final outcome of the characters are…
I've never been as wiiling to 'bear-hug' someone as tight as possible as I'm willing to 'bear-hug' you right now for getting things straight!!! This couple - Wan Mei and Chang An - as shown in this series is definitely one of the most likeable, most adorable and sweetest I ever came across. Li Yi Tong and Qu Chu Xiao are simply perfection!!! I'm so ready for a season two and with this director and crew, I'm sure they are already negotiating with their three leads. They won't make the same mistake the makers of "Princess Agents" did, I bet on that. Therefore, this series was too well thought out, filmed and produced. So, my heartache got eased, now, after I've read your explanation... Time for some sleep now. Kisses and hugs and a 1000 thanks!!!
