That was the best ending imo. I truly loved it. I was just gasping at the twists every time ๐ญ I'm so happy our main couple got their happy ending ๐ฅน
Honestly, I should have dropped it, it was painful to get through ๐ญ I consider myself very generous in my ratings, it's pretty easy for me to enjoy a show, but personally I found this so boring... I'm all for suspension of belief but there was too much that was just pushing the limits of what I can reasonably believe. Often, the dialogue was really on the nose, over-explained and even nearing cringy. I stayed because I had hope for the bromance but even that was pretty shallow. I liked Du Cheng's sister the most, she's the only one who made me think for a moment that we were going to go a little deeper into the characters. Everyone was so underexploited. Li Han was really cute but like... tell me something, one thing, about her! I enjoyed the ASMR during Shen Yi's drawing scenes, though.
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but for me this ate up the original. They really went on their own journey, though, so I don't think it's very fair to compare at all. Kieta Hatsukoi aside, this was really so sweet and adorable. The last episode was perfect. Fourth especially gave it his everything, his acting was so good. I was most impressed but how believable the progress from their awkward beginning to how fond they are of each other by the end was. Maybe it was a bit slow at times, sure, but I do think it contributed to how genuine them gradually getting closer felt.
The only thing that made me a little sad in that last episode was Kongthap letting Atom tell both of their moms about their relationship, he was so worried about it, too ๐ I thought he was stepping up in front of Atom's mom but then he said "Atom wants to tell you something." That was crazy ๐ญ That being said, my one critique of Gemini between My School President and Moonlight Chicken was that it felt too much like the same character. I didn't feel that way with Kongthap. I had a very clear grasp of his character and I thought he was great.
They nearly reached Vice Versa levels of product placement, though. Nearly.
Ahhh why did the subtitles have to suck on the last episode?! The plot itself was already confusing, subpar subtitles did not make that any easier. Regardless, I can't believe they both gave up at the end... Chef Oab giving him the restaurant even after finding out the truth and Plawan just accepting it and selling to Methas. I didn't understand Kluea ruining the competition. If he wanted to prove that Chef Oab was going to make Plawan win regardless because they got together, why give him the perfect excuse to disqualify him? I did love the whole "you only had to say sorry" resolution. I actually thought that was really sweet. Everything else was strange, though. He opened a restaurant for 2 weeks just to get revenge? Some people have too much money and too much time on their hands. JJ and Methas are freaking cute and I was really looking forward to them getting together but it only worked because they're so cute and the chemistry is there. Methas didn't do nearly enough grovelling, in my opinion. I don't think it was bad, I actually really enjoyed it. I think for a series without such a believable plot, it was quite fun and the characters were endearing. The acting isn't bad, either, I thought Benz and Aon were particularly enjoyable to watch.
I'm definitely still enjoying it; the plot twists are driving me crazy, it's so fun. I don't like that we're seeing Tonkla with his clothes off more than on... For one because Fuaiz is so young and it does bother me a lot but also because I agree with everyone that it's uncool to feel like Bible and Jes are secondary characters. I really hope it switches around next episode. I'll say, these are my only two complaints, they're pretty major ones, to be fair, but apart from that I'm on the edge of my seat, I love everything else.
I loved that it's totally cheesy but they don't hold back on the action scenes. Tae Goo is awesome but he especially shines during the action and dramatic scenes. I really loved the whole gang, it's the found family trope executed perfectly. I also didn't know about Jae Chan being in this, it was a nice surprise, especially for him to have his own side storyline, it was great.
I watched it only for Seon Ho but I already didn't like The Witch so I didn't expect to like this either. The last episode is cool, though, and the action scenes are great. Seon Ho's character is great but this isn't for me. I'll have to continue being patient to see him in something different ๐
Ughhh, they're ruining it with the Khun Dad bit ๐คฎ It already wasn't a masterpiece but I actually was really enjoying it somehow, but now it's too much I can't deal with the insane nickname, seriously ๐ญ
I love them so much, I'm so sad it's over ๐ญ I obviously have to agree that it lost some of its spark in the second part and got draggy. It was bonkers to have to continue watching Wandee refuse to call Yak his boyfriend when they've been so close since day 1. I also have to roll my eyes at them putting Ter and Taem together because... that's definitely a choice... Regardless, it's a 10 in my heart, realistically more of a 9 or 8.5. Chemistry off the charts and two ridiculously cute leads.
I was having a great time until the very end, that bummed me out ๐ญ I know nothing about the original, but I do think itโs a shame that they were so vague about everything that happened between then and now. We just get that everybody died and heโs lonely, itโs so sad ๐ I think it would have been nice to just end it in the past but I get that it was also an hommage to the original actor; some context would have been useful, though. No, but the last 3 episodes were amazing, I really loved these darker episodes. Lee Je Hoon is excellent as always and I really loved the FL. I thought the actors who played Manson and Heeseung did a fantastic job, too! Loved Officer Nam, as well โค๏ธ
I just watched the first episode and I canโt even explain the way it made me feel. Itโs seriously taking me back. It feels like home. The soundtrack is nice and Wi Ha Joon is absolutely perfect in this role. One Spring Night and Romance Is a Bonus Book being in the recommendations makes so much sense and theyโre both in my favorites, hopefully this one will be too ๐ค๐ป
I don't know what to think. I love dark and gritty stuff, and obsessive love is definitely my thing but that's not quite what I got from this... I guess I like dark and gritty but when you could still reasonably call it romantic, this was not that. Plus, I'm never okay with graphic rape scenes, there's so many ways to not have to directly subject the viewer to it, but I understand why that might be a controversial opinion. I'm also not gonna pretend I understood everything, I didn't, some things definitely flew over my head. Great acting, though.
I didn't see Je Hoon was in the cast, it was a nice surprise ๐ฅฐ I wanted to watch something that wouldn't be too heavy and could make me laugh and that's what I got. I definitely laughed a lot and had a good time. That being said, I wasn't very invested, it was cute and lighthearted but the chemistry with Gong Yoo as Jong Wook was way more sizzling than with Gong Yoo as Ki Joon. Might have to do with the fact that Ki Joon is more nerdy but I dont' know, I loved him a little nerdy too, so... but yeah, it's cute!
