I think I was more generous in my initial review, probably because my mind was blown by the main couple but every time I do a rewatch I end up skipping Shou Yi and Zhen Xuan no matter how much I think this time will be the time I really try and follow their story. I don't know why, I just can't get behind it... But anyway, this is like my 3rd or 4th rewatch I don't even know, and it's still just as good.
I really wanted The Worst of Evil to be in the realm of Flower of Evil in terms of married couple in danger, one or both of them cops, with a happy ending, especially since recently Big Mouth didn't fulfill that, but they also went another direction. That being said I'm not mad at the ending, it was crazy and intriguing and I really did like it. I'm just gonna have to wait for someone else to write that story. Anyway, I don't love the way Disney+ released it, but I suppose it's better than all at once on Netflix. Apart from that, Ji Chang Wook, just incredible as usual, and Wi Ha Joon continues to kill it. I thought Ji Seung Hyun and Im Sung Jae were also particularly good amongst the cast. The make up was incredible. too. The bloodshot contacts were a nice touch. I know Ji Chang Wook has a lot in the works and I'm so excited, I never get tired of him.
I'm surprised this series is still at an 8.0. I felt so strongly about the first 2 or 3 episodes but it's really gone downhill. It hasn't been all bad but it's too many ups and downs, it's so inconsistent. Now, I absolutely love Papang. At this point, I think I haven't dropped it because of him but I'm also somewhat invested in Guy and Nawa, I like both Marc and Pawin. But Chimon and Perth aren't working, in my opinion. I do like them separately but together there's something missing. I think part of it is how quickly they flipped the switch on Kang's feelings. I'm finding Perth's character so inconsistent, even with significant backstory to explain why he is the way he is, I can't deal with all the back and forth. There's a difference between being angry and lashing out and just using that anger to go back to being an entitled asshole. Also I hate that they expect us to figure out how Kang found Sailom to rescue him. I get that they don't need to say or show everything, but make it make at least some sense. That being said, I do think Saifah's motivation, and whether Name is innocent or not, is interesting, so I'll stick around for that.
I'm getting ahead of myself, we still have two episodes left, but I just know I'm gonna cry so hard at the end, happy or not. I'm about to bawl my eyes out so hard...
Usually I love writing my little paragraph after an episode of a series I particularly enjoy but I haven't done that in the 9 weeks we've been following I Feel You Linger in the Air because I'm genuinely left speechless every week. It's so fucking good. If the last 3 episodes continue to be as spectacular as the others (with, please, please, please, a happy ending), then this will definitely end up being my new favourite BL.
You could offer me 10 grand to explain the plot and I would have to go home empty handed. I don't understand this wedding ploy at all. I thought Diao and Yi were on the same page but they're actually still lying to each other? And Yi ditching him at dinner for a drink with Lian was brushed over when I thought it seemed like quite a big deal. I'm so confused...
Week after week, I'm running out of compliments for this series. This is insane. I don't give out the word masterpiece ever but this feels very apt here. It's absolutely flawless.
That was so wishy washy. I'll be the first one to say that not every series needs to be groundbreaking, it can just be sweet and cute, but the writing in this is just bad. Joke's face when his mom makes him "realize" Joke is precious to him and he's like "oh my god, he is" a minute after pushing him away was so dumb. Then, we essentially get the same scene between Joke and his dad that we got with Zo and his mum where he's trashing Joke to Zo upon first meeting him and seconds later he's all like "no lol I'm totally proud of you, you're weird for thinking I wasn't". Even Jeng switched up so fast. I fully understand that it was because Pok breaking up with him was a wake up call but it felt so empty. There were cute moments, of course, I made it to the end after all but the writing really did progressively get worse.
I once again let the comments make me miss out on a good series. I really never learn. I just caught up on the first three episodes and it was hilarious. I had such a good time, it's also so nice to see everyone again.
Woah, this continues to blow me away. How is it so good, I'm losing my mind. The acting is killing me, Bright portrayed jealousy in such a lovely way, I loved every second of it; the soundtrack is wonderful, I mean god damn everything is just so on point, I'm so happy. I'm genuinely screaming at the preview for episode 7, it's gonna be another long week...
Okay, you know what, I'm taking back what I said about not minding Dunk's acting, it's starting to become irritating now. I don't know if it really was worse in the last two episodes or I'm just starting to notice but it's bad and I can't take it for much longer... And besides that, because Joong and Dunk's characters have so far pretty much been all the same, this series has gone in so many directions I feel like I watched 6 different series with them when it's really just the second one. I thought it was cute in the first half but I'm so over it now.
This is ridiculously incredible. I keep having to remind myself of all the series I felt so strongly about in the first 5 episodes that went downhill to try and keep my expectations low but it's so hard, this is too good ðŸ˜
I don't care what anyone else says, this was perfect, not flawless, sure, but perfect. I'm so grateful they brought them back for a season 2. I'm not gonna fight anyone on the amnesia being a lazy plot line, I agree, but it did give us some really gorgeous scenes in the last 2 episodes so I'm not made at it anymore. I'm really gonna miss these idiots 🥹
