Wow, I totally got schooled, I had no idea about "comfort women". Come to think of it, I guess I really don't know much about the disputes between Japan and Korea. But anyway, this was great. I've been binge-watching Lee Je Hoon movies where he does the same type of characters that I of course love him for but he's so great in this too. He can really do it all. I do wish his brother hadn't disappeared at the end, we'd seen enough of him that he should have gotten some kind of resolution as well...
I get that there was something to be said about the bureaucracy and whatnot but if they care so much what people think, how are they going to explain not looking for Mi Jin at all? The suspect said himself there was a chance she could still be alive and they're just like "eh nah she's probably dead already, let's look for the already dead people right this second". Korean police never does look too good in movies... Anyway, I did like it, a lot actually, but I'm hung up on that part. I loved that it just kept going, the chase never ends. I loved the action scenes, they felt very real and not over choreographed, no music. The little girl was great, I didn't recognize Kim Yoo Jung at all, though.
What a wonderful movie but some truly remarkable performances. Lee Je Hoon and Han Seok Kyu are a great pairing, Jo Jin Woong's character was also really lovely. Highly recommend.
I've been putting this off after I watched the first episode because like you said...Punn is so unbearably cringey!…
If you like JaFirst, then maybe yes I would say give it a second chance, but I put up with 7 episodes of cringe before changing my mind so... you decide π
I've actually really enjoyed the last three episodes. Now that Punn is acting a bit more mature, the mood has shifted, tensions run high, there's more at stake, and they're very cute officially together. It was really rough to get into, it's too bad Punn was so unbearably cringy in the beginning, this is turning out to be quite nice after all! Although, it's making me laugh that they gave Mueang and the doc a hint of a storyline just so they can get it on at least once per episode.
This was really excellent, it kept me up all night. FilmJam's chemistry continues to deliver. To Sir, With Love was really draggy in the second half, so 8 episodes here was nice. It was also great to have Film play such a different character since Thian was a good boy. Although, I was not prepared for him to play such a flirt, I barely survived... Jam pretty much plays the same character but that's fine. I was so annoyed having to wait even longer when it didn't originally have decent subs but the wait was really worth it. (The fire effects looked so bad, but I'll pretend I didn't see that since everything else was so good.)
I knew I was right to worry about the number of episodes left! I'm excited for some truly emotional scenes but it's really the only thing that's keeping me from screaming "WHYYYYYY?!?!?!?!" Anyway... it was wonderful while it lasted π
Yoo Myeong running to get a hug from Tae Kyung when everyone else was pushing him away was so cute. She's seriously adorable, Dong Wook is an idiot. I hope Soo Gyeom gives him hell when she finds out he dumped her. Yoo Myeong and Soo Gyeom are probably the only characters who haven't pissed me off once throughout this whole mess.
Once again, Tae Kyung's emotional scene with Yeon Doo's mother was my favorite. I love how close they've gotten to the point even he can get through to her. Tae Kyung's emotional scenes recently have been so good, now I can add his drunk rant and wanting to sleep with his grandmother to my favorite scenes. That being said, no one reacting when Tae Kyung told his family the three of them would move to Canada cracked me up, long day of filming or what? π
I can't believe we only have two weeks left. I know this was nonsense and the acting was subpar but what can I say, I love it.
I'm confused... Is Zo about to be mad to find out Joke only pretended to help him win over Nita? Was that not made clear enough already a while ago? Or is it a plot twist? I doubt it, everything's been very predictable so far...
159 episodes of Ji Chang Wook is so tempting but there's no way I could get through all that. Ah, well... Maybe something to put on my watchlist for next summer π
I only watch this when I randomly feel like I could get through an episode, which is rarely so I only managed to catch up on the last five episodes today. I don't know if I could stand it if it wasn't for all the actors that we already previously know, and also the fact that I actually like the doctor despite the fact that they've butchered his and Mueang's story. That random shower scene in episode 8 was so strange. Call me difficult but I usually like more context... I also like Wan a lot, the actress is gorgeous. If Ja and First weren't an already known pairing, there's no way I could believe polar opposite characters like Punn and Ashi could be a good fit. I mean, I have no reason to like Title and I wouldn't even be mad if they somehow got together. It would make more sense. I was so shocked when they first brought up Punn being a model or actor cause Ja managed to make me forget that he actually is very handsome and charismatic. I'm confused by his performance; surely there was a way for Punn to be funny and peculiar without being so childish... I don't think Ja is a bad actor, it has to be the directions he was given but damn, whose idea was that? That being said, Ja and First are clearly more comfortable with each other than since Don't Say No. I feel bad for First, though, I really do feel like his potential is huge but he's not once been given a good script.
Nothing could have prepared me for the last part, and I say this even though I got spoiled in the comments (π).
I don't know... it started out so normal, a fun take on an otherwise pretty standard zombie movie but it got so goofy suddenly at the end. I mean, they could have tried a bit harder with the suit, no? π I also felt that his boss was too much of a stereotypical villain; he literally reminded me of Mr. Satan in Dragon Ball. However, I do think unique and original zombie movies are so hard to make and this was definitely different, and also, they got Akaso Eiji who is wonderful so that was cool.
I was wondering how they were going to stretch this out to 12 episodes, I guess the preview for next week answers that question. I would say they should have stopped at 8 episodes like the Star and Sky series but I'm actually intrigued by what's coming.
I didn't expect to find so many comments on the acting. I think they're doing really well, personally. I'm not entirely sold on Aou and Boom's chemistry but I've always liked Joong and Dunk. I mean, I liked Star in My Mind a lot, and that also was nothing special in terms of the plot. Maybe I just like Joong and Dunk more than I even realize. Regardless, I think this is super cute and I really do look forward to it on Sundays.
I don't normally do time travel stories but I really wanted to give this one a try and I'm so glad, the first episode was just beautiful, I'm hooked. Nonkul is really cute and I can tell from the flashback with Bright that he has good chemistry with his partners. I'm really excited now, the potential is huge.
I do wish his brother hadn't disappeared at the end, we'd seen enough of him that he should have gotten some kind of resolution as well...
