I'm grateful to have lived long enough to see how far BL content has come. I remember having a hard time finding…
I always feel Thailand gets a bad rep tbh. Granted yes they release a lot of BLs (and still a lot of school setting dramas which...are not my thing), but some are amazing. And they can be so creative with plots and genre combos (I have a long-term adoration with their horror/ supernatural BLs especially). Yeah the novel is amazing and I love the setting so much...it's so unique and unusual. And fingers crossed for Immortality as Luo Yun Xi is also an extremely beautiful man (I think he was one of my first c-drama "crushes", actually. As Ashes of Love was the first c-drama I ever watched).
Seriously, though, Keng has the most beautiful eyes. That scene where Peem first appears and you get the close-up of him ❤️ he's gorgeous An hour or so to go...August is *amazing* for BLs tbh.
Yay! Trailers are amazing. And just a week to go! ❤️🌹 (Although ngl "short length series" has me nervous...12 episodes is fine if they're 45 minutes. Just please don't make them 10 minutes long or something insane like that)

Oh, it's certainly wonderful to see how far BL/ danmei content has come. Not to mention the diverse range of genres we get now, too. Kill to Love, Shine and Khemjira airing in just August alone is amazing. We've come so far in just a couple of years. But yes, I certainly have my fingers crossed that too Eternal Faith gets aired at some point (along with Winner is King. I'd kill to see Tan Jian Ci in that monocle🤣, the man is too beautiful as Gu Yun ).
Re-watching both episodes again as I can't sleep (damn you, heatwave!) and I think I have a new favourite drama tbh. This is simply wonderful. Shine and Khemjira every Saturday. Politics and horror, two of my favourite genres ❤️🌹
The first instance of SA had me clicking off tbh, then I read about the g-rape and figured I'd not be coming back to this one. I understand people want to support c-BLs/ danmei adaptations so we get more aired internationally. I'd be one of them as I used to love Chinese dramas. But this one was a pass for me as personally I don't want to see this sort of thing romanticised in a love story.
I've just been re-watching the first episode and yeah. I love horror BLs, but there is something special about this one. Saturday cannot come quickly enough (Khemjira and Shine on the same day ❤️🌹too awesome).
I'm still beyond ecstatic that we got Justice in the Dark fully released and aired, even if it took years. Mo Du is my favourite Priest novel, and I doubt I'll ever fully get over it. Sha Po Lang is an extremely close second favourite, however, so...any time now would be lovely. If for no other reason than Tan Jian Ci completely rocks wearing that monocle 🤣
In times like these I get frustrated that BL is still pretty niche because I NEED everyone to watch this amazing…
Hopefully they'll get there as otherwise they're missing out on something special. I've had the most difficult time getting into BLs this year but this (and possibly Khemjira) have changed that. Two episodes in and yep, Shine is excellent (I just wish we had more than eight episodes).
It looks...very romcom-ish from the trailer. I was hoping for something a bit darker with a hint of a horror feel perhaps (we've had a lot of fluffy romance vampire dramas after all...) We'll see how it goes, I guess.
This thai person on X explained pretty well the political and social context of the years in which Shine is set.…
Thanks a lot for this. One of my favourite things about historical dramas is the desire to delve deeper into the context and setting. There's so much going on here, and whilst I was initially saddened Shine would no longer take place directly after what happened in Man Suang...They couldn't have picked a more interesting setting. Think I'm onto my third re-watch anyway lol. Honestly, cannot wait for episode 2.
Honestly, cannot wait...
🤞. You never know...

Billy looks so gorgeous in those clothes as well...❤️
(Tomorrow can't come soon enough tbh lol)
