That explains it. I have watched both apps on my IPad Pro Max and the WeTV picture is clearer; probably because Viki sacrifice picture quality when they expand it to full screen. It’s a shame because you are not only losing micro expressions but also the intricate details on the costumes and sets. I haven’t enjoyed a drama this much since Mysterious Lotus Casebook last summer. I find myself noticing the resemblances between the characters of the main male characters in them 🤣

What were you watching it on? I have noticed a difference between WeTV and Viki where Viki is less precise, and picking up micro expressions does depend on that…

I suspect that the fact that the censors know that the two leads are famous for the right reasons got them more leeway, and the exchange of sexual roles in the final episode might be completely overlooked by the pure of heart 🤣 though Ms Jun’s cross-dressing when we first encounter her is a tad obvious. I was surprised by that getting passed, particularly since Xing Zhi had heavily stressed that she would be uninterested in seducing him…

It’s the eye makeup!

Yep! You can feel it when cast and crew are having a ball, and we got to enjoy it as much as they did. But there were some embarrassed posters when episode 31 dropped…

Well, I certainly wouldn’t blame them! I was completely hooked by it, and laughing myself silly because I had seen a number of comments suggesting that the actors were too old/conservative to get into the cave scene, and they went way past the cave scene in the final episode. Mind you, the director was really taking the piss in the cave scene; first of all by cutting the episodes so that there was a break, and then using the shot of the interlinking hands - which in every other C-drama means cut until the following morning - as a misdirection. They really had a blast making this series, and we had a blast watching it!

How the hell they got that last episode past the censors I will never know, but I am really glad that they did !

I don’t know where you live but in my country people go away to university when they are 18 and have the duties and privileges of adults. It may be different where you live but don’t assume that the world is identical to your backyard and for pity’s sake work on your own problems instead of trying to foist them onto other people.
