I'm with you. I have mixed feelings. I am so excited for the finale episodes but also not wanting the drama to…
But .. I am counting on my baby lei lei 🥵

“In the matter of virtues, Bai Fengxi has quite a lot of virtues! I'm afraid I can't count it!”
Just agree.
Even in the name of virtue, she forgave the idiot langhua just like that; though her almost died coz of that spoiled girl's stupidity.
It also reminds me of the character Wei Wuxian in the drama Untamed, who also only surrendered when he was beaten by Madam Wu, killed by Jian Cheng, and stabbed by his nephew; Jin Rulan.
Perhaps almost every kind of virtue character in the drama has such a phenomenon. Of course we shouldn't have to imitate it (DON'T TRY AT HOME!!! 🙅⛔🙅‍♂️), coz our lives are not as many as the cats 🐱

one thing i always had faith in was going to be the identity reveal - HFX was obviously way too smart to be that…
if this drama gets anything right, it’s avoiding the annoying couple tropes and building an extremely healthy relationship

today episodes were good despite the pace rushed and lazy script writing once again but it was expected, really like to see queen xiyun in action but what a pity all her arc is packed in one single episode, the scenes transitions aren’t smooth it looks like some parts were cut or are missing, really wish we had more of her father and bother with lanxi, like a proper scene where they all four meet… the battle scenes were good however, lot of war details it was nice, the arrows scene was really cool, i like to see xiyun being the main character, can’t wait for tomorrow episodes (let me add more in spoilers)

A major downside of this drama is that BFX has set a super high bar now. 😂 I don't think I'll be able to get into any drama without a super strong and intelligent FL for a while...

I was so looking forward to how the drama will execute that scene because the novel described so well how broken…
I agree with all those points. Afterall it's "adapted from" not just "based on".

But some users here seem to be hostile to some novel readers. Not having expectations is like saying the drama will never be as good as the novel. But me having hopes this whole time actually means I did gave the drama a chance to live up to the novel.

So true with the ooc. It was so unlike fl to not head straight home the moment she heard Qingzhou was in trouble, but instead was more concerned with Yongzhou's affairs.

Yes it could've been a masterpiece. It could've also showed viewers who didn't read the novel how well written the fl is. If they think the fl here is already good, how much more if her story and character is showcased well. Instead they got into a controversy because of the palace stuff. No wonder the author had to defend her work.

I do still enjoy it or else I won't be here anymore. But it doesn't mean I will only sing it praises and not express other thoughts.

i’m all with you, i still enjoy the drama a lot but the thing is in the drama there are many of scenes adapted from the novel, even some of the dialogues are the same, it’s not the type of adaptation where only the setting and the names are taken from the book but exact scenes as well, so expecting to find our favorites scenes in the drama isn’t being an annoying novel reader and being disappointed to know those scenes will either be removed or brought on the screen entirely differently is also a normal reaction, i’ve got few people annoyed at me for being sad that the drama isn’t giving me any sort of emotions i felt while reading the novel; the adaption was perfect in the first half and the script just became good to mid the more the episodes came out, since we reached the last half we’ve been getting more and more ooc moments which unfortunately reduced the drama quality, but as i said in the beginning i still enjoy the drama a lot and will probably give it a 10 without any issue for the acting of the leads and their scenes together but i definitely understand why some would give it a 8 or 9, the drama could have been perfect from a to z if not for these inconsistencies and takes from the script writers, and i will say it again but making xiyun lanxi’s love interest instead of an actual female lead was their first mistake, all the mid plots are rooted to that and the drama would suffer from less criticisms if they had focused on her story more… anyway my comment will also make drama viewers upset but yeah despite still being a good drama it could have easily been a masterpiece with better script and direction
