Its an adaptation longer than its a separate thing.
Good for you, but I'm allowed to express my thoughts on what could've been a really good scene to showcase fl's acting.

Do you even watch this drama? 😆😆this FL is one of the strongest character (good martial art, Smart ass, she is a princess going to be a queen from Qingzhou state) she helped ML a lot a lot through out the drama

Well idk I feel like BFX helped him a lot in the later episodes. She taught him how to win over his army hearts. She helped him when he lost his inner force. She rescue him from the sinking ship. Her sector being caught in prison is because of his dad. So I wouldn’t say the Fl cause him trouble. If you watch the drama further you can see both characters are balance and needs one another. Each for different reason

I completely and and immensely disagree with this one. BFX has never caused Lanxi any grief but on the contrary, she aided him and even helped solved a lot of HIS problems. BFX is the near perfect woman to ME. She doesn't complain, whine, make dumb decisions and most of all her intellect is as unparalleled as Lanxi. BFX is strong in her martial ability, and tbh her mentor seems to get into way more trouble and makes horrid decisons. In my view, BFX is the one bailing out everyone and when she doesn't have the ability to save someone, she will seek help. For instance asking the mountain abode to assist. She has humility and thinks for the greater good. Bravo to BFX!

These are all I my list as well, especially the top 5 and Song of the Moon. I have been throwing in some Kdramas as well. I like watching Modern Kdrama and ancient Chinese dramas.

Someone had to cut the number of eps down to 40 and reallly thought the maid and teacher scenes were more important. Even FQW has better upgrade from the novel.

As a standalone it definitely isn't bad despite the loopholes like you said, but as an adaptation could've been better esp. justice with fl's character. She really went from main character to just love interest at some point. And her story is gonna be rushed as hell next week.

That's nice, while I'm the opposite. When it started all my attention was on it, the pilot week was so good. One of the best in cdramaland. But halfway through with palace scheming getting repetitive/predictable and less fl screentime, other dramas took my attention.

I like this enough to give it an 8 or 9, it depends on the next episodes tbh but there's also many things I didn't like. It started with good action and amazing fights then we barely got anything like that again. It focused so much on ML and his politics and we barely got anything about FL and her identity. Now they're rushing to show some of that in the last episodes. I wanted it to focus on the FL also. And to be honest I skipped EVERYTHING that was about politics cuz I couldn't care less but that depends on the person since I only care about the romance. Let's see how they're gonna fit the rest of things in the upcoming episodes.

Agree with that..I am not talking about the actor..I am saying in general if the actor is A list and have to be in a certain way to change the script according to him will ruin the script....its burden for everyone..better be free and fallow the script and justify the character would be better...

i first noticed her at Long Ballad. I've watched mostly Bai Lu or Dilreba's work. She was like secondary FL but her acting and chemistry with her screen partner was palpable than the main leads. I've watched some of her other works since then but LB and this series really makes a remarkable impression to me. You can feel her character and not just portrayal of a role. At young age, she shows great potential as next big thing. She can act, she can sing and she can dance. I hope her next projects will showcase her outstanding skills just like Bai Lu.

To be honest, I think Huang Chao deserves to be emperor, for several reasons:

1. The guy exudes charisma, has the stance and charm, greed, and means to be an emperor
2. He is willing to take a harem (This is actually important because even though I respect all the male leads who only take one wife, with several cases in Ancient China following this precedent, it's SO difficult. Courtiers will want to marry their daughters to the ruler and you need political support)
3. He's good at martial arts (He can lead war. Yes, FLX, BFX can too)
4. Being ruler is his top priority-this is again important because even though his current marriage is one of convenience and political support, I think they're actually a good pair and can see eye to eye on many matters. He also doesn't have to face the question of love versus career/kingdom and doesn't have too strong an emotional attachment.
5. He's already a prince, and the CROWN prince of his state (he has the background)
6. He appears to be sane/cool enough to also consider the wellbeing of civilians even if it isn't his top priority (For this one, FLX wins though, tbh)

and this is mainly why he's more suitable than FLX, as in the chess scene (other than love)
7. He does things directly, quickly, and is confident.

FLX on the other hand is slower, defends himself, is careful of all obstacles, etc, but less daring and straightforward. Huang Chao is confident but has the means to be (he's not stupidly confident). Of course, in this case, FLX is smarter. But as an emperor, I think Huang Chao's personality and way of handling things is better in the long run.

But this is kind of a rationalization for --> Huang Chao just looks like a King. Period.

Lol, I'm frustrated with the character not the actor..but I still think this page is wholesome compare to other drama page that will attack you viciuosly if they think you say somethings that are not with their opinion 😂

Yeah, cunning shouldn't have described the ml's character.. I blamed the writers for downhill storyline just to showcase ml is biggest star..(which is true but they could have written a better character and story development)
