The fact that I used to complain how long 16-ep dramas are especially if there are too many sub-plots and unnecessary scenes, but now what I wanted to complain about is how short 40-ep WTRW is and I wanted more of BFX's backstory.

That poster is so beautiful and god does it suit Yea Ji. These roles fit her so much, I could cry 😭 She's beauty, she's grace, and most importantly, she will stab you in the face 😩

I like the show a lot, but I feel like it had all the components to be a great show...

it's suffering from some serious pacing issues. Storylines have dragged when they should've been wrapped up quickly and some eps are just boring and fillers. I know Yangyang is the main appeal for many people, but they had exciting character setups that could've made this a Nirvana in Fire or Game of Thrones tier show. They should have condensed ML's family drama into the first 15-20 episodes, given the FL a more significant arc (either in the jianghu or her kingdom), and given all the other royal heirs actual screentime/characterization. Make YWY a compelling villain instead of a cardboard cutout, make HC more competent and give him a better motive, show HCR scheming to be queen, and honestly give FL's brother a plotline too.

I didn't read the book, but it also seems like some interesting elements were axed due to censorship. For example, in the book, ML is much more morally gray and in it for the power instead of the perfect ruler we see in the show, which I think would've been way more interesting...

Also, the pacing has been so slow up until now that the last 10 eps are gonna be wild. They have to figure out who YWY is and defeat his shadow org, take out ML's evil family so he can be king, resolve this Empyrean token mystery, save FL's life/ML loses his cultivation (??), something bad happens to FL's sect or family (??), and possibly fight a war against HC??

Ep 27 - 28 :
- HFX kneeled down until he is sick (i remember he mention about that scene), that’s where BFX hugged him when he wakes up

EP 29 - 30:
- The other princess husband selection
- Huang Chao proposed

Ep 31 - 32
- HFX confession (finally)
- BFX’s sect will mostly die & BFX almost die

Ep 33 - 36
- Something bad happend to BFX’s family, so she becomes queen
- Xi Yun goes to Yongzhao in that wedding carriage

Ep 37 - 40
- Lanxi & Xi Yun marriage
- War
- White hair

Even though we dint get an official confession yet, i like how FL is letting all those ppl calling her the prince's wife without correcting them lol

Well, honestly, he brought her to his hometown. There was no way she wouldn't find out who he was. He wasn't being very low key in his prince role by that point either. As for him not figuring out BFX, her brother explained it pretty well. He can't see things objectively with her. His own emotions are getting in the way. Instead of trying to figure out what her connection is with Xieyun, he just gets jealous and worries. Though honestly, I feel like she's not even trying to hide it anymore. She's just waiting for him to figure it out on his own. 😆

Xi Yun and Xie Yue moments are so precious. I love how he treats her so well.

ep 31 & 32 will probably air on the 10th of May & I don't have the patience.

If my blood pressure hits high notes, how am I gonna explain to the doctor that it's because of the frustration of watching an airing drama??!

He's smoking hot!! It aches my heart that his character has short screen time.

Episodes 23 and 24 were the best episodes for this week. Had good development between the leads and also the plot is moving forward. It also gave glimpse of BFX's really identity, YWY being a worthy opponent to HFX, HFX and BFX outsmarting that commissioner was so good to watch, HCR is really beautiful, for me she is the most beautiful lady in this drama, also her being really cunning and smart and the scene where BFX slit the throat was so good. I was kind of pissed at BFX for the way he dismissed his maid, I mean she spent her whole life serving and being loyal to him but her leaving scene made it clear that he does care about her, it was so good and satisfying to watch.

BFX is so cool in ep 24.🥰

Yes, what i like more is she doesn't seek ML opinion or approval. She decides on her own.
