Why do you expect the ML to do all the work? In the story of Kunning Palace, the FL showed her appreciation to ZZ. It's him who hesitated and he lost her.
Here the ML showed her he care with his acts. Owning a vilain a favor. Testing a medicine. Risking his life for her many times. He asked her to eat with him. What she did? She run to her family home. He followed her there. He listened to her for most of things. Even when her cooking is awful he ate. Drawing constellation with the name she gave them. The FL didn't do much to show hers. She didn't reciprocate. (But she think he loves someone else.) Can't she also asked him why he is kind to her? Why he is doing all this for her? Hence she isn't straightforward nir open.
I'm sorry but I'm not the one to expect a man to always lead. Both should make efforts to make it work.

Except the begin when he didn't want her and scared her, he never spoke about their marriage in those terms. She's the one who set the bet. The one who bring divorce every chance she get and told everyone that they're gonna divorce. Even when Yun Que came into the pictures confessing her love for him, he did sound her to see if she cares and she acts indifferent. He didn't confess his love but whenever he wanna make a move it's liuniang's attitude that make him step back.
If she didn't overhear him with Chen Huo'e she would still think the ML backstabbed his father for his own good like when she yelled at him.
The ML didn't do her wrong but he always need to do something to prove her she can trust him, that he care. Like when she went to all the men of her harem for help but not the one who was there for her many times.
She's smart and know the ML's problem but didn't think this is the reason he didn't recognize her. Or that she change as she grew up and it didn't help. She took it to heart and thought the worst of him.
I get that the ML doesn't communicate properly but neither she. But because he loves her so much she can walk over him, hurt him,...he's gonna forgive her anyway.
I don't hate the FL. Some of her decisions irk me that's how the story is. But you cannot say the ML is solely at fault. It takes two to tango.

Even though he did like someone else, he didn't fail her as husband. He didn't mistreated her. Always come to her rescue. Even when she didn't go first to him when she was in need. He only asked her not to be reckless because she can become a target.

The makeup departement did Ding Yu xi wrong. Too much white powder and lipstick. The latest drama I watched of him was "White Cat Legend" He looked really good on it. His makeup felt natural there. I don't get the choice of this makeup here. He isn't sick or anything.

I like this voice for Donghua Dijun, Sifeng,...but it doesn't suit Ding Yu xi at all.

Even the ML doesn't have a stunning wardrobe unlike other historical cdramas. They all got like 2-3 outfits. Maybe their budget was low.

Like you I hated him in LAR. Then, like him on Ancient Love Poetry. Too bad he won't reprise his role as Tian qi in the sequel. His character on Blood of youth was one of my fav too.

I need another collab of Meguro Ren and Imida Mio. Their chemistry is amazing bit the romance wasn't the main focus. In Happy marriage, they were cute but it wasn't enough. It went too fast.

Granny didn't hate Yan. In the flashback,she was speaking with Qian about him and it was fondly. He was her naughty grandson who always get into fight. It was when she thought he wanted to kill Qian that her attitude changed. Later she found out it was Yanran's fault but Yan was already sealed. When Yan was freed by Yanran, granny went to him to have a talk and she felt sorry for him.
Even though she was biaised it doesn't justify any of Yanran's bad deeds. She wasn't starve of love. She had all her father's attention and support . She could've impressed her grandma otherwise. She wasn't morally grey. She did bad things. Her not having her grandma's favor are excuses.
Let's say their father was in cahoot with Yi Mei and his excuses was because his mother think he wasn't good enough and didn't give him the support of Disha Hall. Would you find it reasonable?
Wolf was a good demon. His 1st murder I can say it was self defence. But when he keep doing evil it was his choice. It was on him.
Same with Yanran, she chose to kill Fei. She attempted to kill Qian. It was on her.

I think Yan is angry not cruel.He has another agenda siding with Yi mei. In my opinion, he want to find a cure to their curse. I might be wrong but I think he knew Hu zi won't die hence why he told him where to find Qian.

I get what you mean. Xiaoxuan was belittle by his father and sister at each turn and yet he didn't become a jerk and want revenge from them. Okay her grandma liked Fei more but was it a reason to kill Fei? XX had only his granny as support and Yan sometimes.
I'm sorry she had her father's love. She could've been a good big sister to Xiaoxuan but she chose otherwise and kept taking the wrong steps everytime.

Granny isn't partially responsible. Since young she used evil means like when she killed the other spirit. Granny wasn't fond of her not because she was a girl but because of her behaviour. She got no empathy and discarded other lives as they were nothing. Granny know how it's difficult for a woman to be on top. She didn't have this prejudice towards her. Granny wasn't even supportive of her own son because he lacked in many ways being a leader.
Yan was set up by Yanran. It's true grandma could've trusted him even though everything was against him but he too let his anger overtake him. They both made wrong choice.
