After watching Ep 40 I too felt that there was a strong possibility of SX's and XM's future romantic recovery. At the end, he had a twinkle in his eyes and she had a cute side glance.

What I thought was interesting is the last scene of Ep 40: where he visits her on her rooftop apt. How did he get there? Did she let him in? She didn't seem surprised. He wasn't hesitant.

As far as Hong Mei, she looked really nice and happy after leaving her boyfriend. Maybe the president needed someone like her.

IMO, It was one of the best C-dramas I've seen. Brilliant acting, tight script and believable story make it all outstanding. I didn't expect love and kisses at the end between SX and XM - lot of water under the bridge so to speak. But a hug would have been sufficient. Well, we'll have to wait for Season 2.

So there is a possibility for Season 2? Wouldn't we all love that. Maybe we'll see the real Ideal City. I guess we have to wait, stay calm and see that possibility.

I really liked Dilraba in Love Designer with Johnny Huang - now that to me was a perfect couple. Loved the ending.

It sounds like an up in the air ending the way you described it? I haven’t watched the final but that’s disappointing after watching all that angst. It seems that happens in many C dramas. Oh well the forum was great and I learned a lot about concrete too. 😀 Acting and story were fantastic. Wish better ending.

One that is kind of cute (first 2 epis) is Netflix's is Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. It's light but meaningful. Let's stay in contact, and exchange ideas.

I still have to finish "You are my Glory" because "The Ideal City" became more interesting to me.
TIC has far more dynamic tension that YAMG.

TIC keeps you on your toes, minute by minute, second by second. TIC is by far the best C/drama I've seen so far.

However this could all change on Episode 40. Let's see how it ends.

XM and his uncle keep talking about their piece of land outside Shanghai and that XM has some specific plans for that land. Do you think that land will become “The Ideal City”?
