Just started it - it looks interesting.

I liked her in Road Home. That was my favorite.
She is very versatile and that is what makes her great.
Have you watched her in Road Home?
I'm glad someone else watched her in Fox's Summer - she was a little beast in that series but mellowed at the end. Loved that series.
btw: I read that ML was not happy with that role.

Unfortunately, I'm not into historical dramas - but anything else, I'm in!

I first watched her in The Fox's Summer (season 1 and 2).
If you want to see a different Seven, she plays a real spitfire role.
The series, for some reason, wasn't too popular but I really liked it.
Her roles are much more mellow and mature now.

Basically, Xu Kai and Seven Tan were the only reason why I watch this drama.
I hope they will be together in another drama. They are magic together.

So well said. There are a lot of discontinuities in the series.
One, for example: the first sexual encounter between the 2 main leads just happens - out of the blue! No conversation before, no prelude to anything, and where were they? In his apartment, I found out later.

There are so many of these instances that my head keeps spinning around.

So many C/dramas stand out as fantastic:
1) Road Home
2) Fireworks of My Heart
3) Love is Sweet
4) Amidst a Snow Storm of Love
5) Hidden Love

And several more but to just name a few. I have rewatched all of these above and they are as good the first time as the second time around.

You brought up a good point - because of the lack of good writing, one can get confused and we are lost in the journey.

So we stick it out until the end because we do want to see them get back together.

I hope the two main actors will be more selective in their choice of series.

Oh, thank you. ep 35 is a good start.
They need ep 33-34 to reconcile their differences.
They need some time to make a few babies too :-)

Apart from the writers' issues, the story, if it were written much tighter, would be really good.


Those two leads are what is keeping the series alive at least for me.

Yes, if Tan Songyun and Xu Kai were not in this series, it could be a 7.5 instead of an 8.0

The writing is not good, with lots of filler, and lots of flashbacks - to fill 40 episodes.

I hope the last 8 episodes make up for some of the pitfalls of this series.

I've watched Tan in so many series - but my favorite is Road Home.
Xu Kai was fun to watch in Best Choice Ever.

This will not be a rewatch for me but both Tan Songyun and Xu Kai pulled my strings!!!

Writers think viewers like the overused tropes and it is easy writing for them too.
Eg: the big white truck of death and more dumb tropes like that.
Another example: phone rings just before a kiss.
Someone on MDL should write an article about overused tropes!
Could be funny.

I just love the two main leads - and you are probably right - the first 20 episodes was partly the first 10 episodes (where she as with her first boyfriend) and then the next 10 episodes, just getting adjusted to not being with him.
