Yes, if Tan Songyun and Xu Kai were not in this series, it could be a 7.5 instead of an 8.0The writing is not…
So well said. There are a lot of discontinuities in the series. One, for example: the first sexual encounter between the 2 main leads just happens - out of the blue! No conversation before, no prelude to anything, and where were they? In his apartment, I found out later.
There are so many of these instances that my head keeps spinning around.
So many C/dramas stand out as fantastic: 1) Road Home 2) Fireworks of My Heart 3) Love is Sweet 4) Amidst a Snow Storm of Love 5) Hidden Love
And several more but to just name a few. I have rewatched all of these above and they are as good the first time as the second time around.
You brought up a good point - because of the lack of good writing, one can get confused and we are lost in the journey.
So we stick it out until the end because we do want to see them get back together.
I hope the two main actors will be more selective in their choice of series.
The part where the roommate opens the door when HT and JX are talking about their relationship status...I am sick…
Writers think viewers like the overused tropes and it is easy writing for them too. Eg: the big white truck of death and more dumb tropes like that. Another example: phone rings just before a kiss. Someone on MDL should write an article about overused tropes! Could be funny.
She had a boyfriend in the 1st 10 episodes and it's unlikely she will get together with the ML right away so I…
HI, I hope you are right! I just love the two main leads - and you are probably right - the first 20 episodes was partly the first 10 episodes (where she as with her first boyfriend) and then the next 10 episodes, just getting adjusted to not being with him.
You made a good point - fingers crossed - Thanks!
Still, so much is spent on the other couples that I hope that slows down :-) while time is spent on our main couple
I've watched this series up to ep 19. My interest is only because of the two main actors: Tan Song and Xu Kai
However, the series focuses on 4 couples, of which the main couple only has a share of 1/4th of the time. That is disappointing. Yes, the other couples are somewhat fun to watch but most of the romantic time spent should have been on the main couple.
We have 20 more episodes to watch. I hope this promising series starts waiting up!
Song Hyun Wook and Ahn Pan Seok are the two directors that I follow. I don't know about you guys this ain't literature,…
So well said - I don't think most MDL watchers really appreciate this series. It is slow, deep, meaningful series. This series is not the usual K/drama - !
how can you guys drop this?? I’m in 5th episodes and I’m loving every bits of this. it’s so interesting…
I don't think most MDL watchers fully understand the Korean culture - Me as one of them. However, the acting is believable, the OST matches the scenes, the two brave leads are standing up for themselves, and as usual, there are very few, in any culture, that will stand up for what is right.
I watch this series with an open mind - it is hard to watch - not the usual Korean troping series, but for those that try to understand it, it is truly rewarding.
So we have ep 33, 34, 35 (Viki) left for sadness.

They need ep 33-34 to reconcile their differences.
They need some time to make a few babies too :-)
Apart from the writers' issues, the story, if it were written much tighter, would be really good.
Those two leads are what is keeping the series alive at least for me.
Thanks again!
You are talented to be able to translate the novel.
I speak another language but translation is still not that easy.
Thank you for your reply - I can wait. I've only watched it because of the two main leads.
Kisskh is a bit scary - since I get warnings that the site is not to be trusted for viruses etc
The writing is not good, with lots of filler, and lots of flashbacks - to fill 40 episodes.
I hope the last 8 episodes make up for some of the pitfalls of this series.
I've watched Tan in so many series - but my favorite is Road Home.
Xu Kai was fun to watch in Best Choice Ever.
This will not be a rewatch for me but both Tan Songyun and Xu Kai pulled my strings!!!

So far, I score it a 8.6.
