Title Pursuit of Jade Spoiler
so far i'm in awe of this drama but let me rant a bit about ep 18 !! whyyyy didn't she kill that beast when she…
right??!!! i think she didn't kill him bc of two things:
1- she was not willing to kill yet, only after she saw the massacre did we see her 'flip' her attacks for kill
2- she opted for a captive tactic because her people were still hiding

Title Pursuit of Jade Spoiler
Biggest mistake of ML is leaving FL and her sister unprotected, esp since she played a big role in thwarting attack…
good point! ML knew the sui brother had an eye for FL to provoke him, but he didn't think he would go back to get her... i think he realizes it even more after ML saved changyu from the cliff he realized the danger of staying close

I know the Sui brothers aren’t “good” characters but the actors are both hot so my mind is contradicting…
i can't believe its both brothers that are villains! usually its one of the two but both are madmen and dellirious! only as royalty can they get away with so much, like how there was a lady simply watching from a far the coercion the older brother was doing to qianqian! the level of insanity is really incredible and the actors are dellivering !!!!

Title Generation to Generation Spoiler
i hated how she called him "master" till the very end and even buried his ashes with her aunt. i would…
me too i was so shocked but my interpretation is that they did not hold grudges and they broke the generation to generation cycle... they also concluded that he went astray but deep down he had 'good intentions?'
i still think she should not have brought him next to her aunt!

but as you said,
1. it went downhill with 1 ep/day, still some episodes were really enjoyable
2. the plot redundancy and it was just turning round and round at some point it was frustrating!

i really wished they cleared many elements from the beginning, especially the scene where chang is killed and actually asks mq to pretend to be his son and go there. the flow
of information made it harder to connect with the storyline!

Title Generation to Generation Spoiler
I finally finished the drama, and honestly the last two episodes were very disappointing. I really don’t understand…
well said! i actually did enjoy ep 36 but it was so bittersweet because at every dialogue/ explanation i would think about how the storyline unfolded in a convoluted way in earlier episodes!
so many episodes wasted!
the ending also feels like it was in a vacuum.... i understand all the attempts but it just didn't hit the spot for some reason!

i saw Bao Shang En's previous show whispers of fate and i thought the role was too big for her, but it follows the same line of character!
i haven't seen Zhang Jingyi's shows yet, but i imagined the fl of love in the clouds for example , Lu Yu Xiao

I think him being injured or recovering from something takes up 40% of the novel 🤣🤣🤣
oh noooo 😂 i was hoping we won't have that trope for long 😅

100 % agree! we can see in generation to generation it was *almost * same beginning with a ml in need of saving.…
i watched so many costume cdramas, and it's funny because i had finally started watching blossom before generation to generation started airing!
i definitely see what you mean! and GtG is still very enjoyable despite the execution...

100% agree! the world this director was able to produce is amazing! dreamworthy!
and the opening scene and all the first episode are so underrated , they gave us the perfect setting and connection to the story

Has anyone else dropped Generation to Generation? I couldn’t get past episode 5 honestly.
it really took a while to get somewhere with that show and still... best episodes were past episode 20 in my opinion... missed potential in the execution i guess

I love MQY. I've waited two years for another ML like this, unhinged and totally obsessed with the FL, and I'm…
i appreciate the total red flag mention because wow, almost everyline he'd say to CZ in the first half of the show was a red flag !! 😂

For me I think she binds her self too much with trying to live up to her aunty type of stuff
yes!! CZ bound to the legacy of her heroic righteous aunt is a defining trait and i love that while the story progresses, she discovers things about her aunt ( her lover and ties ) and it mirrors her own character development. she also ends up repeating what her aunt went through...
so looking up to her aunt put her in a very rigid box, she was like her in the things she didn't know either and it pushed her outside the norms of her sect

Reading the comments it seems like everyone is stressed out so clearly I did a good thing putting this show on…
absolutely agree!! she did give us more right after u stopped! some glances she'd never given before of angst, melancholy, decisive moments, but they are too few in my opinion! it wasn't an easy character to play, i didn't see enough nuance either but there is 'character development' after an important moment in the story.

It's sad cause I feel like this had the potential to be great. Don't get me wrong, I'm still enjoying it and will…
100 % agree!
we can see in generation to generation it was *almost * same beginning with a ml in need of saving. after watching so many cdramas, pursuit of jade really stands out among most in the captivating execution and the script.
the story unfolds at the perfect pace, information that is left out doesn't feel like manipulation from the scriptwriters, and explanations are not just dumped in bulk either...

this really helps connect with story... and lastly, the main leads, maybe because of direction, but Cz felt off many times...
despite the close ups, the looking at the camera slowed angles.... her character could have given us more nuance early on...
i really enjoyed the scenes in generation to generation when they took their time esp ep 21 i think when they were travelling together for example.

same! he is definitely talented but i always thought the script or plot wasn't on his side before... same for TXW! she is amazng i loved her in moonlit reunion but i thought the show wasnt executed as nicely to hold her role...
