Yeah, it was difficult for me to watch that scene. Even though I speak Japanese and I’m familiar with the culture, that’s really what they were talking about. There is a real issue in Japan when it comes to cheating it’s very common. Some people don’t even consider sex as cheating because “there’s no feeling involved” They know it’s wrong, and many people hate it, which is why he said, “It depends on what you consider cheating” The bar is on the ground I honestly wish they’d value and respect themselves more.
Izaya is good, but what I keep noticing is his desperation to be with William. The problem is, William is a red flag for him he’s done the very things Izaya claims to despise in a partner. William says he had his reasons for cheating, but still doesn't justify it and Izaya ate up the reasoning too quick. You can feel the trauma from William’s past relationship truly and I sympathize with him. Still, the way Izaya is handling it lowering his own standards and rushing into something unstable feels reckless. I can’t help but think it’s going to backfire on him.
