While I respect your opinion, I think you might be overlooking the fact that this is the face of a depressed, traumatized, and grieving person. Why would he be giggly, cheerful, or highly expressive? The character is intentionally portrayed this way, even in the original version. We're are only at the beginning; there are much more tragic scenes upcoming, which will be a better baseline for judging how well the actor carries them out because not much has happened yet, the things you perceived as flaws have deeper meanings that you might have missed. Even the brothers' similar names are different in character writing and meaning in Mandarin.
