yes generally Chinese dramas (not just BL) are unpredictable and I don't mind that personally they're not afraid to give the audience a depressing endings😂

spoiler! Am I the only one who thinks this isn’t a sad ending? When the necklace broke at the end, it symbolized that this fate force haunting them had finally stopped, allowing them to be together. Before when it was on Shen Nan, it would glow every time as a warning—urging him to stop falling in love and foreshadowing impending tragedy. But when he chose not to turn back, it felt like it was his final test has passed with the gem breaking signified that the cycle of fate and time travel was over, freeing them from it's loop.
