Back then she was typecasted coz she was still under her old company huanrui so she didn't have much freedom to choose scripts and could only choose among the ones given to her. Well at least after go go squid success she got better scripts but coz her popular dramas were mostly childish characters, she only got childish roles coz they thought thats all shes good at after filming her last drama for that company she left so she can choose any script now and u can see she hasn't chosen a childish role from then on. The one good script she got back when she was still in that company was the golden hairpin, which was her first strong fl role but coz of the actors scandel, that never got aired so she lost her chance to change ppls view on her.
In the novel, they were 8 friends instead of 6 . The drama is really different in many aspects
there were 9 friends and yh ming yu ended up with one of the friends who ended up being a celebrity. Her and zhuang yuan never had a love line except for the fact that she and yingzi both liked him when they were in highschool. Mingyu got over him tho while ying zi was questioning her feelings between zhuang yuan and jiang yi. Lan yi fei liked jiang yi and years later in their 30s she still did before she finally gives up. Zhuang yuan had a secret crush on ying zi throughout from the start till the end and doesn't end up with anyone coz he confesses too late. His character is different in the novel as he was a quiet and handsome guy int he group who didn't like to talk much. guan chao married someone else just like in the drama but he didn't like lan yi fei in the novel so that part was basically added and everything else abt him is kept the same, including his bad relationship with his father. Jiang yi is basically the same as the novel as someone who keeps to himself anf finds it hard to express himself, gets jealous easily, liked yingzi from start to end knowing she liked zhuang yuan, except he was smart in the novel but they made him someone who got bad grades in the drama. In the novel he was described as possessive, which he admits himself. In the novel, everyone except lan yi fei and zhuang yuan ended up with someone. Might have missed some details or got it wrong as i read this 2 years ago so my memory is hazy. Sorry for the long paragraph. 😅😅
In the novel jiang yi was smart and he is the one who tutors ying zi for the exam but on the day of the exam he ditches her to go to abroad. Its an interesting change that the opposite happens in the drama.

yes they did, she got drunk then he came to her house and explained it to her. Didn't even take that long like some ppl were saying it will take 3 eps. Also rejected the chloe girl.
