One of the very best movies I've seen about facing death. I just finished it and am a mess of course, but the truth is we all WILL die, just as Kota and his hospital friend said. Ohno Katoshi's character certainly did so with grace and kindness for those he was leaving behind. The script/acting/directing seemed just right to me; no over-the-top histrionics, just deep, deep sadness and grief when the time came. The father's last-second impulse to stop the palliative care doctor from doing what his son had asked was incredibly powerful, as was Kota's gentle assurance to his father that it would "all be fine." The father was beautifully played. He had that quiet Japanese reserve but he never felt cold or unfeeling to me.
I guess the production didn't have the budget for great cinematography. This looked shot-on-video but that's the ONLY thing that looked or felt less than the best in this production. I am impressed with the entire cast. First-rate.
I'm surprised the director didn't work a shamelessly gratuitous shower scene into the script. On the other hand I think his beauty is of the type that doesn't appeal to everyone. There is an edgy sharpness to his chiseled features that's a bit threatening and my guess is that it puts some people off. He's beautiful, and his bio says he is a model, but not in the standard pretty boy way most people are used to. Which is part of the appeal to me.
I mean... i'll take it for a binge without any care that i will forget tomorrow, but this is your cliché bare…
I pretty much agree with everything you wrote, but...I loved it. lol I have no defense for my enjoyment of this poorly-written trope-fest, but if you're interested in some things I liked about it, I listed them in a comment above.
Perhaps my favorite fuck-up was when the second lead was fleeing to the coast to avoid hurting the guy he loves by you know, hurting him really badly instead...the suitcase he had supposedly packed for his trip, as you could hear it echoing across the floor when he rolled it, was CLEARLY EMPTY. LOL
Not at all. For me, this is the new normal homosexual relationship. I know this is fiction but we gay people in…
Are you seriously suggesting the only people who can relate/empathize with the feelings/circumstances/actions/emotions/mental states of fictional characters are people who are EXACTLY LIKE THOSE CHARACTERS? Or are you saying this is true, but ONLY as it pertains to GAY fiction. Either way, I call silliness. If that were true, there would be no market for superhero movies as there are very few superheros among the movie-going public.
All kinds of little problems with the plot of course, and it had that "costumed by a designer clothing maker specializing in sweaters, blazers and outerwear for men and women!" look to it that a lot of Korean BLs seem to have. Cherry Blossoms After Winter had the same look. Sorry...most college students are slobs and all the neat and pretty clothing just looks...fake. That said, I LIKED a lot of the neat and pretty clothing, especially a couple of the sweaters, the professor's last blazer, and the lead's coat in the beach scene at the end. Guess I should try to find out their costumer/cross-promotion partner. :D
Not going to bitch about this one. Loved it mostly Loved the lead: talented actor and adorable. Love that the two second male leads are unusually tall and have that "slightly-scary-but-handsome-too-with-amazing-bone-structure" look. Love the tall/short dichotomy of the MC. In my head, the little guy is the top. BTW...he was so oddly adorable and weird when he got the goofy giggles because they were in bed together as though they "were in a relationship." hahaha Just you wait, young man...:D
As I said in the very beginning, this show has a target on its back
"Someone wanting to trash Holland with a side of bigotry..." lol Such a stupid and predictable comment. I'm gay. I say what I think about everybody; Holland's sexuality is YOUR hangup, not mine. He could be straight as an arrow and I'd still find him repugnant. Accusations of bigotry are ALWAYS the last refuge of blubbering fools with nothing else to support their ravings...like YOU.
Oh, let's see what other cliches you threw in: "bullying..." check "Gtfu..." check "done with this..." check lol, what a tool
I may not agree with most of what you have written, but I agree "straight" people should be able to play gay roles.…
No problem, ComeOn. You might have noticed I have certain abrasive writing qualities of my own and am often denounced as rude. I have actually toned down the confrontaional style which is my default setting (believe it or not) but I refuse to completely abandon it nor my crusty sense of humor. Don't you do so either! :D
Ok, Oompa loompa... I have never read a more biased, illiterate and disgusting "take on a show" cause this is…
LOL Love your mindless rant aimed at MY rant. Don't give a s**t what you think of me or my comments. Try not reading them as they clearly touch some raw nerves of your OWN insecurities. I LIKE the way I write for the most part, and I enjoy doing it. Your reaction means less than nothing to me, especially since it's based on current trendy ideas that it's "not OK" to criticize public figures from a place of humor.
Best part of all this is that for every spittle-flecked bitch-fest like yours, I receive two or three friend requests. Got three just this morning. There are a LOT of commenters here who are intimidated by rants like yours and don't post what they really think as a result. They relate to and enjoy what I write. And sense the essence of your comment is "stfu," I'm happy to be their standard-bearer.
Please block me, as you clearly lack the self-control to simply not read my comments. That way you won't be moved to write anymore embarrassingly self-revealing comments like this. 😂😂😂 Have a bad day.
"... the very WORST of the WORST is having to bear the sight of our handsome HGC making out, mouths open, with…
Well...I suppose I COULD "just stfu." But since you, clearly a douche bag, just encouraged me to do that, the chances that I WILL do that just plummeted to ZERO. I don't care one wit what you think of my comments, me, my personality, or the aroma of my a*****e. I do care that I have annoyed someone like you, who despises the person they imagine me to be, to such a degree that you're nearly foaming at the mouth with hatred. You made my day and I think I'll double tomorrow's commenting. Thanks!
As I said in the very beginning, this show has a target on its back
wow, OK, you're dense. Is there or is there not video of this attack? If there is NOT video, HOW did his manager post "it" on SM? Why do you say his manager "must have" done something, either he did or he didn't. Don't you knowwhich? Send me some links. On the other hand, never mind....OK, you win: Holland was beaten to a pulp in public but there is no video, no audio, no police report, no nothing to support this but yeah, it happened anyway. Whatever.
As I said in the very beginning, this show has a target on its back
Wow, I'm sorry but I'll try AGAIN: Sexuality has nothing to do with it. It doesn't matter WHY someone assaults and attacks someone else; it is the fact that they did it at all that matters. So if there were some evidence that it happened, why would it matter WHY it happened? Also, was this supposed homophobe screaming anti-gay comments or else how do we know why he or she attacked? at this point none of this matters as you are willing to believe it happened without supporting evidence and I'm not.
As I said in the very beginning, this show has a target on its back
I thought someone was with him...they not have a phone? Could they have filmed the person running away? I don't know. He's the one claiming he was attacked. I'm asking to see some evidence. There is none.
As I said in the very beginning, this show has a target on its back
Holland SAYS he was attacked. There's no police report or cell phone video.
You have zero idea who I am or what I've done so I'll ignore that "community" comment. If you want to "move on" stop reading and responding to my comments.

Are you replying to ME? Because I did not write that you said "everyone is pretty" and I have no idea why you put that in quotes. And you never wrote that "everyone is ugly to me." What's with just making shit up and then responding to it as if I or you said it before?
Beauty is in the eye of most of the beholders. More people thought Marilyn Monroe was beautiful than thought the same of Ethel Merman. Google them.

And NO, not everyone is ugly without makeup, hair removal and a shower. You're just pretending to think so.
