Could have happened. Could also be a great play for publicity and sympathy, also while promoting this show! Excellent…
hmmm...what's a "cishet?" Oh...cisgender heterosexual. lol Boy are you ever a dumb ass. Let's just say your intuition is useless. I am a cis homo, as though it's any business of yours. Funny thing...I have yet to see a police report or anything to support his allegation from any of you gullible folks here. This alleged attack has gotten him whatever publicity he hoped to accrue from it, so I'm sure he's fine.
Unlike this show, which is terrible. And Holland is the worst part of it.
What a difficult and sensitive subject to tackle. But somehow they havemanaged to handle it insuch a respectful…
Bravo! Life and the universe are GRAY! You would think LGBTQ people would be well-aware of that and yet it's as though once we accept our sexuality as whatever it is we start putting people into sub-categories right away. lol I do think it is a natural human inclination to want to make order and sense of things by categorizing them. We do that in almost all fields of academic endeavor. But when it comes to people...gray, gray, gray... :D
I remember the first time it dawned on me that a trans person could also be gay. Thus a female-to-male, gay trans person would be attracted to men, just as they had been as a female. Blew my mind first time I thought about it. lol
Can someone explain if this is BL? And is Amber really a transgender male? If so then that's cool bc I'm also…
I think you should be happy with the way this is progressing, then. I don't see ANY sign of rejection from Yu He OR Le...just surprise and confusion, which is entirely natural. The person they've spent a lifetime missing and thinking of as a girl is a BOY! That is a huge adjustment to make! BTW, all best to you in your journey...I hope it is going well for you. What you have done/are doing is remarkably courageous. :)
I was just going through some of the other comments and noticed a lot of people still commenting on the scene…
You make a good point. Amber's parents took her away to deal with the Intersex situation, right? But isn't Amber also trans? She was a girl in a chromosomally-abnormal body but apparently more male than female. So once you accept that, doesn't it mean that she is also trans AND gay? Wow. This show has tackled some incredibly challenging issues. Impressive!
And the way to proceed with a child that young would be to start them on testosterone and whatever other hormones are required BEFORE they hit puberty, in which case the breasts would never have developed at all. That is the massive benefit of allowing kids time to choose and accept BEFORE puberty comes along and forces them one way or the other. I don't think he has surgical scars either.
I feel like he knew this moment was coming, and in the end will be glad things are out in the open now. Though I do not thinkYu He was right to just tell Le without warning Amber.
Oh for god's sake...these people just found out about this. The person they have spent their lifetimes thinking of as a girl is now a boy. I think they deserve a decent amount of time to get used to the concept, let alone having silly folks like you whining about their "pronouns." Jesus.
Goodness...this is a tough one. The acting all-round in this episode is remarkable. Tanni Huang as Yu He is especially good. Very natural...not forced. Real. Erik Lin and Lucas Huang (are he and Tanni related?) are nicely restrained in their portrayals as well. It's pretty noteworthy that this is a BL dealing with heavy subject-matter, yet I can't recall a single cringe moment in the series. Some boredom maybe, but no cringe. Bravo!
Yu He should not have told Le without at least warning Amber that she was going to do that, which would have given Amber an opportunity to either tell Le himself or prepare for what was coming. I thought it was out of line to just take the initiative on that without warning Amber. I do think she was right to apply some pressure, else Amber might NEVER tell Le out of fear.
I know what Amber is facing is very hard. He's afraid he will lose Le, as a friend and as a potential lover both. But he's only been kidding himself that he can go on pretending and withholding from Le what he deserves to know. So anyway...at least it's out in the open now and can be dealt with.
I am very impressed with Le. No over-the-top freak-out, no recriminations and blame, no cutting Amber dead. He simply went to talk to his friend about something just a tad important. I was disappointed in Amber when he ran away.
Despite the three episodes that were kind of wasted, now that the story is moving along it's really very well-done.
the acting this episode was insane tho. this is probably the best acting ive seen in a taiwanese drama since your…
Tammi Huang is especially impressive. It's not easy to sell a big crying/sobbing scene such as in the restaurant...that is tough to do realistically. I think she was incredible. I felt everything she was wrestling with, and her realization that the right thing to do is to accept...which is VERY difficult from her perspective.
I had watched Season 1 and loved it but somehow had no idea that S2 even existed until today. What a happy surprise! Just binged it and enjoyed every minute. Great to see it improved on S1 a bit, mainly by maintaining the great vibe established and adding new elements.
Really fun to see tropes and cliches used in a creative way that actually moved the story along and made me care about the characters. Yes, this is a parody, but it's also a tribute. The very BL devices it mocks work wonderfully to move this story along...I found myself emotionally involved in the story within a story. And since I liked Kikuchi a lot from first meeting him, I'm happy our hero has realized and acted upon his feelings for him. :)
Especially glad to see "studying abroad" suitably mocked, as that is one of my topmost annoying tropes in BL.
Which guy from Cherry Blossoms is an idol? The little one playing Haeboom, or the tall one playing Tae Sung?
I think you are one hundred percent right about teeny-bopper females being able to worship and adore cutesy pretty-boys without it feeling sexual, and I think the management companies here and abroad have always marketed that type to the demographic as a result. Probably fools the parents too. Let's see...I LOVED Davey Jones but not Bobby Sherman. Something about that toothy, crooked smile put me off. lol I know there were others but can't remember them off the top of my head. I was too young to even relate to Paul McCartney, though I did like Beatles' music. I actually had photos, taken from magazines, sticky-tacced to the wall around my bed as a kid. Not one of them was a girl. lol How could the parents not have raised an eyebrow at that? And my brothers shared the same room. lol hahaha Such a little gay boy I was.
Yo I honestly have read sooo many of your reviews (whether positive or negative/depending on how one looks at…
lol Well, I do keep my expectations high, that is true. In my view, I am paying BL a compliment by not accepting that its elements should be of lesser quality than any other genre. But there are a LOT of shows I have high praise for.
Could have happened. Could also be a great play for publicity and sympathy, also while promoting this show! Excellent…
No one said your assault didn't happen. But if there is no proof you can't expect people to go to jail or lose their jobs just on your word. No one said emotional abuse and gaslighting don't occur. But for someone to lose their job or go to jail there has to be proof. Lawyers save a lot of people from liars, like mine did from the asshole who falsely accused ME. No one said "everything is simple." In fact, if you could read, you'd know that I am suggesting just the opposite: most things, especially such as we are discussing are complicated. "Simple" is you wanting people to believe whatever you say just because you said it or something. That's a dangerous road for a society to go down. No one said any celeb owes you anything. No one said you have to explain yourself to anyone.
You are tragically good at making shit up and responding to comments no one ever made.
BTW, since you were apparently raped by six guys or something, did you go to the police? If not, why not? And don't give me this "I don't have to explain anything" bullshit. Because yeah, if you were sexually assaulted by six dudes and didn't go to the cops and file a report, then you need to explain why or shut up.
Me second please! Yes, that young man is beautiful and a really good actor too. Nothing he does is over-played. And apparently he plays the piano and sings too.
