Love your review, and the Kenpachi reference lol. Haven't thought about Bleach in years! I'm really enjoying the ML steadfast character too, and how the FL balances him out.
I had such high hopes for this drama, ugh. Skimmed eps 5 through 10, and just barely managed to watch the last 2 for the sake of finishing it. All that potential, wasted. It wasn't a terrible drama, but simply doesn't justly deliver what it promised. Perhaps if one goes in with no expectations, you might enjoy it more than I did? ML's character growth was wonderfully executed, and the baby was adorable AF. They just butchered the FL's character growth by making her focus more on romance over being a parent to her new kid. In this situation, it would have made more sense for the big hurdle in the progress of her relationship with the ML to be her wanting to stay focused on Woo Joo and her new job, thus making any romantic relationship a massive distraction, especially with a co-parent. I dunno, anything would have been better than the love triangle smh. The ending was cute tho.
My last 20 romantic Dramas every single has a love triangle or some male or female try to create trouble between…
I finally got around to watching Doom at your Service and was pleasantly surprised by the lack of a love triangle! (at least for the main leads. There's a love triangle between the 2nd FL, 2nd ML & his friend but it was pretty lowkey). I also loved how authentic the interactions between the main leads were. Highly recommended :)
The last "big battle" was pretty underwhelming, however I enjoyed the series as a whole. The ending was satisfying, given how they didn't pursue a vaccine, but rather learnt to adapt and coexist with the "virus".
...deserved his ending. I'm even mad about him getting a happy ending in the side story.
Technically the manhwa is complete (just ended a few weeks ago actually), but the side stories won't be out for a while, it seems. However, the main story has concluded and it has a satisfying ending imo.
I really wish they would've showed (or even told) us how Eun Yu's future changed. We spent all this time watching…
I don't think its likely since the ending felt pretty complete and satisfying. It's also been 2 years since it ended and most kdramas (esp in this genre of romcom/slice of life) don't get sequels. I do think I'm happy to move on from it though, since it ended well and a thoughtlessly-made sequel often does more harm than good.
This series was brilliant! So glad I finally got around to it. Park Shin Hye slayed so bad, I was in awe. Legit rewinded some parts just to fully take in her facial expressions and manner of speech, it was *that* good. The rest of the cast did so well, I didn't find anyone lacking. Also really enjoyed the realistic gore and revenge scenes. Excited for season 2!
Iam okay with the casting, but unless major changes are made given how fantastical the story is, this is going…
Yeah I was thinking the same. Most anime to live action adaptations are massive trainwrecks, and I understand that this is based on a manhua, however fantastical elements are rarely adapted well and it's mostly where LAs fall short. I absolutely loved the anime tho so I'll probs give it a go when it's released.
Absolutely LOVED this drama. Not quite sure if I would ever rewatch it, but it left a great impression on my first…
I really wish they would've showed (or even told) us how Eun Yu's future changed. We spent all this time watching her try to improve her mum's life, and though I suspect the result was that her parents didn't divorce (since I assumed she initially moved to her new place after the divorce was finalised) it would have been nice if they'd cleared it up for us instead if leaving us hanging :/
Absolutely LOVED this drama. Not quite sure if I would ever rewatch it, but it left a great impression on my first watch. Highly recommend for the humour and all the feels!
what ep does the dad believe he's actually the dad of MC? (in the past)also is it a HE?
I don't think he ever actually believed him as it is a farfetched concept, but it seems by the last episode he has an inkling of how it might be possible? I got the impression that he 95% believed it was a joke. And yes, it has a happy ending, at least by my standards.
I agree, however I only made it through the 2nd ep before realising I wasn't in the mood for a slice of life. I was also expecting something like Code Blue or Dr. Romantic (basically something with more action/excitement/mystery) based on the rating, but I suppose it's just not for me.
I couldn't get into it. It's a bit too dramatic for my taste, and I thought the FL was too childish for her age (really liked her in WIFTY, but that's cux she played a high schooler there). The leads also lacked chemistry, and don't even get me started on the "little sister". She was nothing but a spoiled brat and I cringed everytime she came on screen bc her brother complex was so creepy.
I personally didn't see any similarities bc the main leads' personalities are very different from the characters in Playful Kiss. They're genuinely good people and develop a really healthy relationship. I hope you enjoy it!
And yes, it has a happy ending, at least by my standards.
