If the script writers follow this then the series will be amazing. How did you hear they were going to re-solve…
Gao Shi De ... if this character would exist in real life I would RUN. Haha! Such people with the best intentions who are so ... hopeless! But that's the beauty of it all and creates the pain we feel as a viewer.
I have a crush on ShuYi (love that character sooo much!), but in real I'm more smitten by Sam than Yu. The guy is gorgeous and such a sweetheart. I remember I complained about him crying. I just hate it how he strips himself emotionally naked lately. He shouldn't do that. But there is something about him that touches me deeply. I sooo hope that this project will lead to much more projects and much more success for both of them.
I have heard Yu was talking about a s3. It's a possibility at this point. I want to see more of them. More of DeYi and more of SamYu. Those cute dates they put on instagram are a good start.

Don't get me wrong. Gao Shi De ... argh! You know, I can't with this guy!! He is a terrible idiot! I'm complaining about him since day 1. Hahaha! He ruined it all and how ShuYi will say later on "not everything can be undone". ShuYi suffered a lot, because of him. This left an emotional scar on him. We can see it. (Btw I'm glad they showed us that ShiDe was not writing him back immediately. That was exactly what I felt was missing in the spin-off. It's easier to understand now why ShuYi was misinterpreting that scene with the women and the child, though I hope they will get a bit more into this and explain it even further. ) Talking about their problems: I just meant that in many stories you have that miscommunication trope like they just didn't talk about it for whatever stupid reason, in this case I feel the problem is deeply rooted in their personalities, but they have (and hopefully will!) overcome this. And yes, they have to talk!! That's for sure ;P
And I agree, they are a match made in heaven <3 <3 <3 I want 1000 seasons.
If it was written differently you wouldn't be having all the reactions and mixed emotions you are having now.…
I think you are interpreting this scene a bit close-minded. While I also was rather shocked when I heard about it, it's a difference if you drink to ease your stress and be able to get a scene done, or if you drink to make it more realistic. He had to be drunk in that scene, and he looked drunk. Even the best actor and best make-up cannot "look" drunk. You can act drunk, yes. They just shouldn't have made it public. Keep that for yourself. When I think about Christian Bale in The Machinist and months later he played Batman ...! Many actors go too far and don't know where to stop. Sam was in general too emotionally involved in this series and "became" Gao Shi De. He said several times that he was too immersed in his character. This really seemed to take a toll on him. "Method acting" went out of control here. Btw I recommend the BL movie "Method" which exactly tells such a story.

Oh, I hate those stereotypes with a passion. But they exist and will exist for all eternity, haha! I came across my first BL story exactly 20 years ago. Not much changed since then ... same old stereotypes.
The reason why I like WBL so much is mostly because those characters appear both strong and weak at the same time. There is a very good balance personality-wise. And the sexual part ... I don't care, haha!

When I heard about the alcohol, well ... ugh. But I think the director is to blame. I thought it was disturbing that he said to him if he doesn't get this right, he should stop being an actor. It's not Sam's fault that the script is written like this. I'm sure he wasn't overdoing it. They wanted that kind of scene and he delivered. I suspect he has mental issues. He is getting lethargic lately. Looks like a depression. In the worst case he is bipolar. Give the guy a break! He is a sweetheart.
Hey friends.. I am confused ??I thought that Gao shi de is top and shu yi is bottom.. But from this episode it…
If you want to know who is doing the penetration in bed I can't answer that. If you refer to those typical personality traits of a top (strong, manly, in control) and a bottom (weak, feminine, dependent) then I would say that those two have both strong personalities. But they are also both vulnerable and have weaknesses. At the end of the day I think ShuYi is more in control, because ShiDe is so helplessly in love with him. If we only talk about their appearance, ShuYi is obviously the bottom. He is slimmer and more feminine.

"robbed of their dating phase in S1" I'm impressed how they managed to put a more mature and adult version of the same characters in a completely different setting - and it works! But seeing them kissing like that it really feels like we got robbed. I want to see young ShiDe und ShuYi dating and having their first time *cough* They should think about some special episodes.

I think the problems those two have lie mostly in their personalities. We have learned a lot about ShiDe in s1. The guy just wants to solve it all by himself, and doesn't take ShuYi's feelings into consideration, even though he has the best intentions. He ruined it all between them and wasn't even aware of it!! That is tragic, and leaded to his breakdown. At the moment we don't know much about ShuYi's issues and background. In the last episode he talked about not trusting others easily, but I don't remember that this was previously shown. He had those two good friends in s1, but he seemed really lonely sometimes, especially since those two became a couple. Hopefully we learn more about his family, his father, his childhood (just enough to understand him). His cockiness may be a defense mechanism.

If it goes like this (and I believe it too), that's a good plot, pretty mature for a BL. I want to trust the author again - she just needs to be able to present us a convincing reason for ShiDe's behavior. I still have my doubts, though. Talking about ShiDe: the guy is growing on me. He is so hopeless ... especially when it comes to ShuYi. He tries his best, but fails. It's heart-breaking. But their personalities match well together. Those two are most likely the best written characters I have ever seen in a BL.

That's what I think and that's what I like: Trying it again. It will be different this time and there are things they have to figure out. But I really like this plot.

Just my guess? The father is there and says something about a promise. I don't think that ShiDe can keep quiet any longer. From the series trailer it looked like the whole plot of ShuYi getting together with ShiDe and then dumping him, would play an essential role, but that wasn't the case at all (thank god!). In the preview for Ep3 they wear those clothes they wear in all those cute scenes. For me it looks like they will clear their misunderstanding, but ShuYi won't easily forgive ShiDe (which is good!) and ShiDe tries to win him over, but ShuYi will still be reluctant. And then I guess they have to deal with other issues: family, company etc. how it's written in the series description. Who knows ...
They were so worried - especially Sam - that s2 won't be received well. I'm honestly so happy for them. There is nothing to fear at this point. There will always be some people who are critical or won't like it for certain reasons. But this is a good series. And a good series will get the well-deserved praise.
If I'm getting this right, they will resolve their misunderstanding in the next episode. So they have to work on their relationship for the remaining 4 episodes. I thought they would just drag out the misunderstanding until the very end and then - surprise! - everything is fine. I'm glad they do it differently. Makes the whole series hundred million times more interesting.
I loved the scene too. But, I still can't get past that it used the same old drunk sex rape trope and tried to…
If I'm completely honest, I think the whole scene was incredible well done. And while Sam did a great job, Yu doesn't get enough praise for his acting. Watching Ep1 of S2 I didn't feel their connection anymore. While it was obvious that ShuYi still loves ShiDe, angry and cold ShuYi just felt differently. The character was unrecognizable for me. But in that particular scene in Ep2 I could feel their closeness again. It really impressed me: How they were able to show us so much intimacy so suddenly. And I'm not talking about the kissing and touching. I'm talking about their whole behavior. ShuYi didn't enjoy seeing ShiDe in that kind of state. For the very first time since they met again he was sincere, and showed how much he still cared about ShiDe. I will admit I was pretty fixated on Yu's facial expression in this scene. There is a lot to notice! I was worried they would change the characters and make them more top/bottom, they didn't! The cocky, but emotionally brave ShuYi was back in this Ep and I'm celebrating it. I could feel their special chemistry and their love. There was a lot of emotion, desperation, pain and lust in that scene. This was much more than a top forcing himself on a bottom for the sake of making it edgy or hot.
Look, their acting is so perfect and their chemistry is so fire that at this point the explanation could have…
Same! I hope for s3. Those two have it all: insane chemistry, great and versatile acting skills and no holding back when it comes to skinship and kissing. They don't even need a good plot to make a good series.
