The trailer doesn't look good. The 1st season was such a masterpiece. The 2nd season had completely different storytelling. They also abandoned the beloved characters, made some die a rather pointless death, others had a strange storyline, not to mention the main character didn't get much attention, then some strange time skips happened. It was entertaining, yes, but the story went in a rather strange direction. Now they bring some beloved characters back, and most likely they only do it to make the viewers happy. I feel like they have no real plan about the story, and just drag this out with the intention of making it cool. I still have no idea why we saw the naked ass of the main character in the 2nd season. Not that I care about nudity, but this seems like a money grab. Still, I can't wait to watch it. But yeah, they better step up their game!
This drama feels like everyone involved was just there for the paycheck. It's not bad, but it lacks passion and well-developed characters. I feel nothing for those people. This series is rather plot driven than character driven. Unfortunately, the crime that our heroes are supposed to solve, isn't that interesting. At episode 8 I finally give up. Not even Ji Sung can put some life into this drama.
What's the point? I remember when this aired, it was pretty popular. So now I finally watched it. I was also raised in a poor family. While I assume that being poor is different in any culture, I just couldn't stop thinking: Do they even know what it means being poor? They had no toothpaste? Brushed their teeth with salt? I remember how Jimmy O. Yang, a Chinese-American comedian once joked about hand soap. It seems the rich people have better soap, lol. We had no fridge. In summer, my mother put the groceries in a pot and let cold water run around it. In winter, she dug up a hole in the snow and put the stuff there. We had to sleep with three layers of cloths to not get cold. But you wouldn't believe it: We could afford toothpaste and hand soap, because it isn't that expensive. It irritates me that they are portrayed sooo poor - compared to whom? The super rich? Apparently, if you don't wear high heels worth 3k you're a beggar. Both older sisters have good jobs. The writers explain their poverty by telling us they have to pay debt. This is such a common trope in Korean drama: the never ending debt and the debt collectors. Again, maybe it's different in any culture, maybe I'm ignorant, but come on! Well, that said, what's the point of this drama? Apparently it's a thriller, which I must admit, I didn't know when I started watching this. I love thriller, so that's not the issue. But why should I keep watching? I don't really care who killed the friend of one of our female leads. Maybe I got into this with the wrong expectations, but I thought this is a series about three strong and clever women who fight against the rich. Nope. The youngest is only in high school. The other one is a drunk, and the third one is very timid. If someone wants to give me a quick spoiler, I would appreciate it. Is one of those girls becoming smart? Is there something intelligent going on in this series? I don't mean it's dumb, it's not. But those three sisters are rather weak.
I see people are shaming others by saying they only like and watch this series because of the NC scenes. And here I am, after I have seen a YouTube video of those two actors. I clicked on the series, skipped everything, until I found the NC scenes, watched them, and have no clue what this series is even about. The sea plays a role, I figured that out. (Yeah, I know, it's in the title). LMAO.
I'm on episode 3 and the show is pretty decent, but I turn my brain off any time someone is supposedly on drugs…
? I thought this is supposed to be a new fantasy drug. From the very first moment, it was clear to me this is not a drug we know. The reactions, the symptoms, the withdrawal, how it works ... So now I'm confused. Is this not part of the plot which makes it exciting? Some mystery drug the writers invented? I never assumed this is a "normal" drug, or everything what happens around the drug is in any way supposed to be realistic, since the drug itself is a creative invention from the writers.
It's a MAME story? Sigh ... And I wanted to give this a chance.
Her stories are the definition of "trash". In TharnType how they handled the abuse ...! In LITA those strange top/bottom clichés with being dominant and submissive. There is no real emotional depth, no well written characters. She doesn't handle well dark topics, but she puts them into their stories, because for some people out there it's cool, edgy, and exciting. They enjoy "trash", because, and I will say it out loud, many people lack emotional depth and don't get how shallow and stupid this stuff is.
Honestly, I watched this to the end. It was thrilling, interesting and overall well-made. But it could have been so so so much better, if they had made the cop a more likeable character. There was not a single genuine moment between all of those characters where I felt there was a deep emotional connection. There was no "bromance", nope, there was no love between any of those characters. Only between the cop and his wife, I assume, because I didn't feel that either. But at least that's canon, I think. Imagine a real bromance, imagine the cop falling in love with the drug cartel girl, imagine his wife falling in love with the mafia boss for real - not all of this had to happen. Just make one thing happen. Would spice it up, make it more controversial. But nope. And for those people who wonder why the cop prevented the suicide: The first thing he said on the phone was "He got caught". Because it sounds damn better for him and his promotion, that he caught the guy and not "He came to my house and shot himself in the head". The cop was a despicable human being until the very end. Would have made a great gangster, that's for sure. Love Ji Chang Wook, but hated the character he played.
I dropped this after ... I think ep 4. But today YouTube recommended me the new episode, and since it was episode 7, I clicked on the 4th part, because I KNEW THEY WILL KISS !!! The GMMTV rule: build up in the first episodes, kiss in ep 7, and I guess we now get a beach episode. LMAO. I remember people complaining about Thai BL and GMMTV, and I always said, no, they are creative, they produce different genre, the quality is good yadda yadda yadda. Nope. I'm fed up. This is so tiring, mostly fan service, pretty boys and how they fall sooo dammmmn slooooowly in love, no real plot, no depth, no nothing. But I guess their business model is working. They can always attract new (young) viewers who aren't used to their formula. Even a series like Heart Killers looks just like Only Friends 2.0 + Not Me. Love Mix-Up is MSP 2.0 and also a remake! It's getting worse than Hollywood with those remakes! Everything is so repetitive. Even the actors cannot bring something new to the table and play similar roles. No wonder they constantly have to look for fresh faces.
Kill me heal me and defendant made me jisung fan for life
I discovered him watching the rather strange movie My P.S. partner where he performed a song about women's underwear, lol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hDSEsqc0foc Don't know what the purpose of that movie was, but Ji Sung was so charismatic, I had to look his other work up!
Still, I can't wait to watch it.

I get tired of Thai BLs sometimes, but I have to give them credit for trying out so many different things.
