I don't like Ohm, but I like his acting. He is so charming on screen. There are other actors I don't really like, so I won't watch them, but Ohm ... No idea how he does it. Always a delight to see him. Can't be mad at him.
I'm going to share my thoughts on this show. It's always interesting to have different perspectives on the same…
Yes, Qian just gave in. From the beginning we saw he might be attracted to Yuan (getting nervous when Yuan comes to close, but not hating this closeness etc.), but they didn't go any further. They didn't show us, how he really felt in love, he remained in his father role to the very end ("I always wanted those two (Lili and Yuan) to be happy"). He showed no romantic (or sexual) interest towards Yuan. I was hoping they would address his sexuality, because it seemed to me, that he was the kind of person who only has sexual interest in people if he has strong feelings for them, when he can open up to them. Missed opportunity, really. When he finally gave him, they had good sex (of course!), and now they are a couple. Okay. I never thought they would kiss so late. I thought a first kiss would make Qian rethink his relationship with his "brother", and then we would slowly see how the attraction grows. But nope. I feel robbed. Yuan on the other hand is a character without backstory. We don't know anything about him. Why was he on the streets to begin with? Who are his real parents? We don't know what he likes (well, Qian), we don't know his goals (well, being happy with Qian). He is a soft-spoken puppy in love with no other interest than Qian. Then San Pang: a good friend, the voice of reason, because he gave some mature and good advice. I respect him. I like him. Now he is dating Lili who must be 10 years younger than him and gets her pregnant at 23, basically ruining her life. I still have to process that. They destroyed his character. Lili was also rather bland. She comes across very childish, naive, and a bit dumb, honestly. She must be much younger than Qian, but what did she experience with her mother? There wasn't even a child actress, Lili just appeared when they were all older. This series started out well, but they somehow didn't work on the characters in the 2nd half. There was no development in their emotions or relationships (that San Pang and Lili liked each other was known before). I swear, I was looking at the screen, and just didn't understand why they didn't go deeper when they could. Qian was the only good character, but again, no real development or change in his feelings. He just gave in.
I literally beg ppl to have a single ounce of nuance b4 calling everyone who has valid criticisms on the jarring…
I watched this scene when I had a light migraine, and I kid you not, when the flashback came with Yuan suddenly screaming "You think I want that" my head almost exploded. There was too much stimulation going on, the loud song that didn't fit the mood, at the end they added so many pictures of Yuan, one after another, most likely to show Qian's feeling or something. Seriously ... too much stimulation.
Who r these ppl complaining...i didn't have time to read the comments...but once i do....i will treat them real…
Lol, I'm one of them. Fair enough, I already had a light migraine when I was watching that scene, but it really made it worse. When the flashback of Yuan came shooting "You think I want this" - ugh. This was just too much for my brain. The music was too loud too. It was just crappy editing.
qian has been attracted to yuan for a long time and that's already been shown, he just didnt recognize that yet.…
I was also one of those who argued that Qian had feelings, there were many hints, but they somehow didn't go deeper into it, when they had the time. The 2nd half of the series just wasn't as deep as the 1st half.
Am I the only one left a bit indifferent by the 2nd of half of the series. The actors were brilliant, the setting…
I feel the same. The first half was psychologically very complex, the 2nd half ... I don't even remember what happened. There was no development regarding their feelings. Qian just gave in, because he was miserable when Yuan was abroad. And then suddenly, they were passionate lovers.
Brothers, what did I just watch? Is it really this bed scene that the actors praised and said would be a first…
Yeah ... unbelievable. They bragged about it so much, which is never a good idea. The expectations will be too high. The scene itself (or those chopped seconds we got) was really nice, no doubt about it. But the editing ...! All over the place, going back and forth, then the flashbacks. It's an accomplishment to mess it up so bad. They should do a new edit and release it. Since the actors said they were running around for 8 hours almost naked - and that's what the camera caught? That's everything they could use? For real?
The love scene was done exceptionally well. The build up, the emotion, the intimacy, the music, the edit. PERIODT!
Nah ... come on. This was painful to watch, at least it hurt me physically. The loves scenes were great 10/10, but those flashbacks were so misplaced, it took me out of it, I swear I got a headache.
There's so much hype around the series that I felt like I needed to put my opinion for those few who can relate.…
We are in the minority, but yeah ... sums it up pretty well. I expected much more drama and complexity in the portrayal of their emotions after Yuan returned. But nope. Puppy in love is so soft-spoken and persistent, so Qian has to give in. I expected to see Qian falling in love slowly, becoming aware of his feelings, maybe even trying to fight those feelings, but longing for Yuan at the same time until he finally understands that his heart belongs to him. Nope. He just gave in. San Pang's advice was funny too. Just go for it, since Yuan will be the only one that never leaves you, yeah, okay. And then they had sex and happy ever after.
I have mixed feelings about this series. If I have time, I will binge-watch it, so maybe my impression will be different. From the very beginning they did a terrific job with showing Qian's inner struggle, his responsibilities, his reasoning. I especially enjoyed the focus on family, not only on romantic love. They really showed us the whole complexity of the situation. It was such a real, raw and deep approach you normally can't expect from a BL series where such stories are mostly written to satisfy some fetish (forbidden love) and end up being toxic with no real emotional depths. So I applaud them for making this such a serious story where obviously a lot of thought went into the development of the characters, their family situations and their feelings for each other. But along the way, I feel this got very repetitive. Not only storywise, but also regarding the editing and the music. While I enjoy some creative editing, this just got out of hand. At the end, you could hardly enjoy a nice moment between the characters without some loud background music. It seems the lyrics fitted the story, but I'm not here to watch a musical. Also, Qian just gave in. I don't know what I expected, but I thought there would be more drama, more passion, more complexity to their feelings after Yuan returns, but the opposite was the case. At this point, it was just a question WHEN Qian gives in, not IF. How they threw the gangster plot and the head injury plot at us wasn't to my liking either. All those live and death situation were done only to push the character in a certain direction. And last but not least, at some point Yuan felt very bland as a character despite Kurt giving us a great performance. He is a puppy in love who would die for his brother. Like that's his whole personality. So yeah, I don't know. I'm not really disappointed, because it was a terrific series, but I'm not blown away either. 8.5/10 for me.
I paid and I have to say it was worth it (even more). I'm so pissed about the leak on KissKh because this series…
Is there a difference between the episodes on Youku and KissKh? After all that bragging about the sex scene, don't tell me they were running around butt naked for 8 hours (they said) for a scene that was maybe 30 seconds long. That can't be real. I was not a fan of all that bragging to begin with, but I'm speechless (and not in a good way). The love scenes were nice and very tasteful, but that damn editing destroyed if for me. The music and those flashbacks didn't allow me to enjoy the scene. And well ... it was too short. The whole marketing and advertising from actors and Youku leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
I feel like they put in a lot of efforts to build the backgrounds of the characters but fail to build a believable…
I didn't see it either. Throughout the whole thing I thought this is a story about two brothers and I got it wrong, it's not BL, which is fine, I kept watching anyway, but yeah. Confused like hell. There is so much going on in their life, the love story isn't really necessary. I mean, this would work as an angsty story about two stepbrothers just fine.
Kinda mixed feelings. Itâs got a good plot and good acting which you donât see in many blâs these days but…
I came across this series today, started watching it, and at ep 4 I thought about checking out this site to see if this is even BL, lol Like I had no clue. I kept watching it, because I like brother stories, but yeah. Didn't see that kiss coming!
Otherwise people are sad!
