It might have been explained below but again how much time passed since first episode to last episode? How many…
I am not sure about the total length of time from the first to last episode, but just the timeframe from E15 to approx E19 is probably 6-8 months. When she surrender in Shouzhou it was already winter to Sun giving her the shining moon during the Mid-Autumn Festival .

Of course! He looks so handsome especially when he wears the grassland attire! I am also very jealous of his long…
I love his hair, especially the color, slight wave and braids in his grassland outfits...Sigh...His hair color a more lighter brown compare to the other grassland men. Makes him stand out more.

You seriously made an account just to make this comment?!
Yes, Shuyu was part of the betrayal. Maybe it's just me, but I felt that when she found out about Sun and Mu Jin, she gave me the impression of being betrayed and probably mixed with extreme shock as well. Yes, despite the fact that they kept their identities hidden from each other.

I would suggest you try to continue watching with an open mind. Yes some of her actions may seem selfish because she's acting on her emotions. Keep in mind that she had a broken heart (from the death of her family), a heart that was betrayed (from Sun hiding his identity). But this drama has great character growth where eventually her heart will be healed through the loving and caring for her country before herself. Her growth hasn't always been easy, but she stayed strong throughout her journey.

definitely recommend watching!! :) Great OST and casting!
I love the OST that I had to edit to mp3 songs to include the Chinese lyrics, pinyin and English translation. I have the OST on repeat on my iPhone often through out the day.

We all in the same pool yeah lol
Yes quite a few of us have been here for a long time. I started a bit late, but I've been on this page when it was around 8K comments. It's a great TLB community here. We're happy to start/continue any conversations.

All those re-watching of TLB is going to affect you. You will likely find many other dramas too shallow. Or you…
Yes, there was a scene toward about 2/3 of the Disney 1998 Mulan, where a rocket was accidently shot that resulted in an avalanche and destroying most of the Hun army. Mulan saved her army, but was later banished because they found out she was a girl.

My daughter is interested in activities such as karate and marksmanship. So when she saw the shooting arrow scene, it immediately caught her attention.

What's interesting was that when my daughter compared Changge to Mulan, she remembered the snow scene the most since there was also a snow scene towards the end of Mulan where she saved her friends/army from the Huns. My daughter was able to sense the courage and fearlessness within Changge, just like Mulan. My daughter's words best described the snow scene in Shouzhou, "That was AMAZING! Can we watch it again?" (In this case, she's referring to the scene where Changge and Sun were shooting the arrows at each other.)

I feel super late to the game but I just finished this show and I can finally say it's truly one of my favorites!…
Many of us went through what you're going through and some are still going through it, including myself. My solution is continue to rewatch until I am comfortable to put this drama to the side.

I would never consider watching a romcom right after TLB, dude! Don't! xD
I actually finished Word of Honor before starting TLB, which I am so glad I did. WOH was a really good show to watch when it aired and I was the one who posted the English subtitles a month before it finished airing for the international watchers. There is a HUGE traffic of people downloading the subtitles for WOH (hitting almost 1,200 downloads) versus other dramas (possibly at most a few hundred downloads). So I definitely see the popularity in WOH.

After watching TLB, I tried picking up my second subtitle project for WOH and I can't seem to get myself immerse into WOH as I did the first time watching it. No other drama has been able to pull me into their world like TLB.

I've dropped all other dramas after TLB. The dramas I am possibly looking forward to are Immortality and Golden Hairpin.

Wonderful analogy.

I have been comparing new and old dramas to TLB. Nothing seems to be on par with it. I've watched it so many times that my 5-year-old daughter recognizes the drama and the OST. She calls Changge "Mulan" hehehe.

Oh I'm in agreement with you. I've tried to watch a few other new dramas and dropped them after the first few episodes. TLB has given me a high standard bar that other dramas can't even compare to. In fact, previous dramas that I liked somehow doesn't compare to this drama as well. Everything about TLB is unique and that's why I can continue rewatching this drama without getting tired of it. It's probably staying on the top of my list of favorite dramas.

I have been immerse into this drama for the last month, so when I went back to finish the subtitles project that I was working on for Word of Honor I could barely finish going through the episodes because I was still thinking about TLB.

Only way not to cry, while watching those episodes is turn off the volume. Once you hear the music, the words…
The first time I watch those dramatic scenes and the music lyrics appeared on the right side, I was asking myself what does the lyric mean. It wasn't until after I edit the subtitles and added the music lyrics did I understand the meaning behind those lyrics.

You're right, it wasn't until my rewatch did those music lyrics add more depth and understanding behind each dramatic moment of the drama.

Anyone could explain me the last minute ending while Ashile Sun standing at the peak on Mount while Changli standing…
Please refer to the Ending Explained topic by Johanna Linnea Karlsson in the discussions board above. She does an awesome job explaining it.

To be honest, this snow scene was one of the few scenes where Raba's acting really impressed me compared some of her other ones. I felt her emotions: her attempts against Limin, A'Dou's death and then the governor. Anger, sadness, shock from realizing who Mu Jin and A'Sun were, to betrayal. And then ultimately her sacrifice for the city. Of course, the music adds on to those emotions.

After finishing the drama, I just keep coming back and rewatching again and again. I have probably rewatched this…
Many of us are on the same boat. I have the complete drama in 1080p on my iPhone. I don't know how many times I've rewatched this drama and I'm still rewatching. When I have free time I'm either watching this drama or listening to the OST.

I’m looking for something to watch but after The Long Ballad nothing is cutting it. Please give recommendations…
To be honest, there hasn't been another drama that has caught my attention as much as this drama. And that's with my 15+ years of watching Asian dramas. As WK1 mentioned above, there is something very unique about this drama that will pull you into its world and won't let go hahaha. I have been trying to finding other drama to watch and nothing can compare as of right now.

I remember I was in a similar state when Love and Redemption aired last year and that took me about 2 months to get over. But comparing the two drama, TLB would be rated higher on my list now so I honestly don't know when I will move on from this drama. I've gone through a few re-watch of TLB already.

I just wanted to briefly mention Yaro because even though he was a minor character in this drama, but to me, he…
I like how he never treated Changge like she was an enemy, despite the fact they were from different sides. Even though she was a "slave" after her surrender in Shouzhou, he tried to coax her into eating during their trip back to the grasslands. As you've mentioned, he gave off the vibes of a funny, kind, and caring person. A very likable character, I had hoped he wouldn't die. I had to give him some recognition this morning.

Title The Long Ballad Spoiler
Something quick about Yaro.
I just wanted to briefly mention Yaro because even though he was a minor character in this drama, but to me, he was the one who saw some of Changge and Sun's beginning moments.

1. Sun saved Yaro from getting whipped by a guard from the Crown Prince Mansion, which resulted in Changge jumping in from her horse. Changge and Sun meet for the first time.
2. Yaro injured Wei Shuyu during the Cuju game, which resulted in Changge taking his place. We get a chance to see Tegin Sun losing to Changge. (LOVE THIS SCENE)
3. In the earlier episodes, Yaro was usually the one to mention that Sun was more talkative and happy whenever saw Changge. The scenes from when they were leaving Chang'an and Youzhou.
4. Yaro offered to carry Changge when they found her by the river bank. Of course, Sun was like "you're not touching her." Yaro's comment of Sun treating her like a treasure was cute.
5. Yaro was the one who found Sun reunited with Changge while out looking for Sun to find a solution for the plague.

I was sad when he died in E35, not as much as Mimi or A'Dou, but still the emotions were there. Wish he didn't have to die!

I was rewatching the earlier episodes last night and he popped in my head this morning.
