What are you talking about? Money hardly ever becomes an issue when it comes to choosing a wife. I must understood…
Hmm... your point is valid too. You are right, there's a huge bias among people (especially men) to prefer single women over married/committed ones. This comes from the puritan culture imposed on women, due to which people see women not as complete persons, but as virgin/available or, sl*t (and there's nothing's wrong to be sexually experienced, but this is used against women as a very derogatory and violent insult/threat)/unavailable. Many women give into this misogynistic trope too, and sl*tshame other women, specially the relatively successful ones or the ones they deem as their competitor in getting favorable male attention. This is deplorable, sad and dehumanizing.
I think we should point these out wherever we see such things, and whenever we can, and start discussing about these. Then only things will keep on improving.

what makes you think that? πŸ€”
Isn't this apparent? Headings like this are assigning the drama mainly to the ML only, and then saying rest of the casts are just joining him in it. Now I am not singling out this particular heading, because I know THIS exactly is how most of the dramas and movies are talked about. I am just pointing out this is a biased way of referring dramas and movies. A more appropriate way would be "This, this and this persons join this K-drama, where Kim Soo Hyun is the ML and Kim Shi Eun, Jo Bo Ah are the FLs". What do you think?

So my context was the entire society, not just the upper echelon of it. When I was writing the comment, I was thinking from a common woman's perspective, like me and the women I know (and even we are more privileged than most of the women in society).

My point is although many women (percentage wise it's very very less though) from different background enter various industries, but among them who sustain there (and maybe even thrive) after their marriage are a very tiny percentage of the women who entered, and among those who managed to stay, most women are usually from the upper echelon of the society (exceptional women are usually super lucky in their family department and/or are exceptionally motivated). I believe that is the case for most of the famous married women in the Korean (and other) industries you mentioned.

But for men, society expects that all of them would get all kind of supports from their wives, in building their career, often at the cost of the wives' own career and expectations from life. This is the norm, and it is unfair and needs to be changed.

His wife must have had some serious dad issues. Poor, old (could be her father old) and fat some women taste is…
not cool. if it was her choice to support him, they let's leave it at that. and criticizing someone for their look and financial status, success etc. is also not cool.

I think she means that although there are many husbands who became famous and successful by their wives' support, there are almost no wives, who became famous and successful by their husbands' support. It's true that in the marriage market, people don't want rich women the way they want rich men, but then almost all the people expect all the married women to support their husbands, be it financially or non-financially (through domestic, family care, emotional labor that takes all the time and energy the married woman got), in making the husbands successful. But nobody cares about the success of the wife and leaves her at her husband's kindness and sense of justice and responsibility.

They switched all the character's gender in the regular rom-com cliche, expect for characters that are disgusting…
Yes I agree, the head is still a grumpy old powerful man. They should have changed that too. But I think the girlfriend will turn the table, the old egoistic grandfather is no match to her.

Oh now that I read your comments again, I understand what you actually meant. Yeah, her feeling towards him is more like that of an older sister.

The husband cheated instead of communicating and deserves it
of course the husband didn't deserve to die, he was a good man, a good father, and although he intentionally cheated on her and even if it was for a revenge, still that's his fault, but that doesn't justify him being killed. but the FL is not at all responsible for her rape and her broken family. what kind of inhumane logic is this? so what she was drunk, does that justify the rapist's action? what nonsense are you writing? this is victim blaming.

I didn't like that they killed off the husband and making way for the second male lead to shine as the first LOL…

Did Son Ho Jun not read his script before signing? Or he got on his agency bad side to get such weak roles
It's opposite to a weak role. Why would you call it weak? His role is so vulnerable, strong and loving.

Person Kim Jung Hyun
what happened?
FR. Nothing's fair in this world, people cancelling Seo Ye Ji, blaming Seo Hyun don't even consider that these two actresses are not even in fault, it was only the actor who did it wrong. How are they even blaming another woman for his behavior? And how are they blaming the victim? On the other hand, they are giving the actual wrong man a free pass! These toxic people are wrong in so many ways.

Did you notice SamSoon yet? Because let me tell you, they should name typhoons by her name, LOL. She's the best…
She was cute, and yes, brave in her way. But we didn't get to see her through much hardships. Also, let's not compare characters. πŸ™ƒ
