Someone said that Dashing Youth is most likely next on the line up for Youku's release.

I'm not really sure if I like the ML's look...can anyone recommend another of his dramas so I can get a feel for his on screen presence? Still pictures sometimes just don't show the whole picture, ya know? And I don't want to judge him based on a few still shots.

I was literally screaming at my laptop "STOP LOOKING AT HIM!!!!" during episode 23. I swear the nerve...girly pop needs to have an open talk with her husband about emotions and feelings.

I hope they cover this in the last 3rd quarter of the show. I really need them to have a sit down and hash out all of their past misconceptions and misunderstandings with one another. I don't really love that a lot of these shows continue to focus so heavily on the politic plots even down to the last episode. Like would it kill them to show a happily ever after for more than 5 to 15 minutes? Looking at you SOKP and TD. Looking at YOU.

He used her for 17 years to kill her brother...and doesn't even know what she actually likes...yes you are the only one who likes the little wormtongue

I'm wondering if LR's brother Li Chuan was behind her poisoning. I think that the Empress(Shangguan Ya) helped SRQ poison the Emperor(Li Chuan) as she had been in love with Su Rong Hua, and the Emperor was somehow responsible for the death of the whole Su family. Also with her son being at risk of losing the title of Crown Prince...it makes sense that she would help with the Su family revenge.
What they didn't account for is that LR would be poisoned with the same herb they poisoned the Emperor with...so when they gave the sachet to PWX, the only person the Emperor will let close to him, it backfired.
How did SRQ die in the future? Was it self exit? Did the Emperor survive and finally kill him? He's been manipulating LR's affection for him from the jump and I just can't understand how she is still so blind to that. Yes he loved her, but he used her to kill her brother and gain power in the court.

Do you think they'll show PWX doing the same thing at their home in the next episode. It would be interesting to see the different talents they can cultivate.

cause we used to get zero on weekends. so one a day sounds great to me

I'd rather them cover this story of SRQ now in the first half of the show than have all this story toward the end when it needs to really focus in on PWX and LR's relationship.

I don't think you'll like this one. We are currently on episode 23 and there hasn't been a clear line drawn by the FL to the 2ML. There are a lot of misunderstandings and miscommunication between all of them. The ML has only ever liked the FL, but the FL has been under the impression that he was in love with someone else. ML has tried to make his feelings for FL clear, but she isn't ready to accept them yet and has asked for time. I really don't think this one is for you, my love.
I would highly recommend watching a recap video once the show finishes to see if it would be worth it to watch all of the 40 episodes or to skip around. The whole plot pretty much centers on lost love and missed opportunities.

LR can see that her little sister is interested in SRQ. She is also aware that SRQ is back from the future as well. So she can see that if SRQ were to align with a princess of the Emperor's favored Consort it could give backing to the prince of the Emperor's favored Consort. aka that alliance could put her brother, the Crown Prince, in danger. She is not only blocking them she is kind of telling SRQ "I know what the princess has in mind and I wont let it happen"

The Emperor doesn't trust the Crown Prince because of the connection to Shangguan family who are the most powerful of the noble families. He likes Prince Su because he is the son of Consort Rou who comes from a non-noble family.
The Emperor knows that at any moment the noble houses could decided they no longer want him as Emperor and place the Crown Prince in power. He has been testing his son and daughter from the Empress to see where their loyalties lie....with him and the people or with the noble families who want money and power at the expense of the people.
The Emperor knew exactly what he was doing and where he was doing it. He was looking for a reaction. The Crown Prince and Princess Royal can't afford to show emotional responses...nor can they even show affection toward one another as it would be seen from the perspective of collusion and a power move rather than two siblings just loving each other.

PWX has been in love with LR since early in their marriage. He had to watch her fall in love with another man right in front of him and has been waiting 20 years for her to notice his true feelings for her.

It's understandable that with this new life he wants to not have any regrets with his relationship to LR. He wants her to be happy, but he also wishes HE could be what makes her happy in this life. He is much more ruled by his emotions than LR ever has been. She's always on guard, PWX wants to knock her walls down.

Miscommunication is still happening with them because their communication styles are so different. He knows and has already forgiven her for sending people to KILL HIM. I think you need to give the ML some slack. He literally died still loving her and believing that she would never truly harm him.

He is doing big gestures and finding that she still thinks of things from a strategic point of view and what gains she can have from their relationship to one another. He just wants to love her, and for her to acknowledge his love.

So why exactly does SRQ need to protect LR from PWX? Did he not kill the princess himself? Was he also being manipulated by someone else? I don't understand yet. I'm sure they'll eventually expound on this plot point, but as of right now...my guy, stop it....get some help.

My ADHD could never just be watching one thing at a time. I normally have at least 3 currently airing and will binge watch a few between release days and also all the English and other language shows/films. I have a journal to keep track of everything I watch as MDL only covers like 6 Asian countries.

Yeah, i think he remembers, but because we've only had a handful of scenes from his POV and nothing showing his actual motives when it comes to his family I'm curious. But I don't want the story to wait until like episode 39 to reveal his inner thoughts and motives.

I wonder if the show will flesh out more of what happened to his family in the past and his active role at that time. I hope they don't keep it too close to the close of the drama as it's a little annoying when they focus too much on the villain in the last quarter of a drama...we need one or two episodes where we are completely free of him and his meddling bs.
