Yes he does which makes things interesting as he can now pursue her and be openly evil :)
Oh side question...speaking of SOKP. I haven't seen it yet and was debating whether or not to watch it while waiting for episodes of TPR to release. Should I wait until I finish TPR as the plots are very similar and have the same actor playing the ML? Or should I just dive right in? Also in SOKP is the FL the only one with her memories of her past-future?
I'm not sure what it is about the 2ML's styling, but he looks like a sickly Victorian child every time he's on screen. I don't know if it's the hair, the make-up or just the overall styling, but it's giving Wormtongue whispering in King Theoden's ear.
First time I'm confused about a FL's character.๐
They sort of expounded a little when she spoke about pitying him, but they haven't delved much into her "internal" thoughts on him specifically yet. I think this first quarter or so of the drama is mainly focusing on getting all the players introduced before shit really starts to hit the fan. Like PWX, I am frustrated with her lack of emotional clarity on the person responsible for both of their deaths. The ONLY defense I have for her at the moment, and it's on thin ice, with regrades to her vagueness of feelings for SQR, is that she thinks that he knows nothing of the future and is fully his young "innocent" self. Was he ever "innocent" idk, but Imma need our girl to open her ears a little harder and realize he's just like her and her hubby. The call is coming from inside the house...run girl...run.
I think it is crazy that people find it boring or not interesting. So far it is really intriguing, ML and FL doing…
I went to the analytics section of this show to see what the age ranges of viewers were on MDL....whenever the main demo is below the age of 24 the comment section ends up being a bit messy. More so if the characters themselves are technically much older than the views watching it. A lot of it can be age of viewer or what they are used to watching. If they aren't used to a slow burn they get bored by episode 8 if the characters aren't hooking up and professing feelings(mainly those used to Korean drama episode length).
I've also noticed that a lot of people who don't watch a lot of Chinese dramas have a lot of misconceptions about what genre and episode count means to the pacing of the drama. They don't realize that just by an episode count you can normally pinpoint when certain things are going to happen between characters.
I can sort of understand frustrations when you're half way through a drama and "nothing" has happened, but we are barely a quarter out the gate...like the water is still trying to boil...they're not even really cooking yet, they're just setting up the ingredients to make a bombass meal.
Agree, how disrespectful bandaging her hand when her husband is RIGHT THERE. To be fair though I wish sheโd…
I'm just a bit confused as to how she can so easily forgive/forget that he is responsible for her death...a slow painful poisoning, and yet couldn't get over her husband helping her sister-in-law during an extremely difficult time in her life? I guess it goes to show that she really doesn't have any feelings for SRQ outside of pity and a sense of guilt. Now if she showed jealousy toward SRQ I would be more concerned, but there really hasn't been any indication that she has deep feelings of love for SRQ. But the staring is more than getting on my nerves at this point. Also, she needs to replay what he said on her wedding day one more time and really THINK about it. Because home boy is moving like his 40 year old self not his 20 year old self. PAY ATTENTION my girl.
How many more episodes , we need to wait until FL realises her feelings for ML ???
I was rewatching a slow burn period drama that was 36 episodes and it wasn't until like episode 31 that a character excepted that they had feelings for the other lead....and I think episode 35 before they expressed those feelings out loud. So fingers crossed that that wont be the case for THIS show.
Yes he does which makes things interesting as he can now pursue her and be openly evil :)
added note after writing this comment. not all questions are at YOU so much as general questions that are going through my head as the story unfolds. but if you have answers to the questions posed please feel free to share the knowledge.
I'm wondering how he has his memories...aka how the hell did HE die and how soon after the other two? I know this is based on a novel so there's one side of me that knows there are answers to my questions and there's the other side of me that doesn't want to deep dive too hard into the source material as sometimes it's fun to guess and find out as the show airs if my assumptions/guesses were right.
And if he was the one to kill the princess....why her and not her brother? As far as I know she wasn't responsible for the inhalation of his clan, and even saved him. I get wanting revenge and I guess the only family the Emperor cares about after the death of Qing ZhenZhen is his sister/her husband and maybe his kids so leaving him alive and killing all those closest to him might be better revenge...am I on the right track here?
He obviously has actual feelings for the Princess, but is he going to just try to save his family or is he also going to get revenge for their deaths that have yet to happen?
Loving this show so far as of episode 13. I'm 34 and neurodivergent so the female lead makes me laugh/cringe every time she misreads someone's interest in her/romantic feelings of others...girlie pop I get you...the amount of times I have misread someone's interest is actually hilarious. Also like the way they are showing the maturity vs the innocent versions of their 18/20 year old selves. The fact that your personality doesn't really change that much as you get older unless trauma happens is played really well. The relaxed more physical nature of their relationship with one another even knowing/thinking the other is responsible for their death just works so well.
If you add this show to any of your lists and go to the calendar tab in MDL then filter it to "my list" you can see the schedule for the upcoming week. Any show that is currently airing will have their schedule listed by date, episode, and time(your local time).
It's a great resource to check if you are a person who has a lot of "plan to watch" shows that have unknown air dates when you add them to your list. Cause we all know these web dramas practically fall out of the sky at the drop of a hat after no news for months.
Okay, so we all think that Su Rong Qing also has his 40 year old memories too...right? Cause those wedding day scenes were some of the first times we get a bit of his POV and it is fishy af.
Okay so as I wait for episodes of The Princess Royal I was thinking about bingeing this one, but I realized that the plot is very similar in nature. Sooooo....I really just have one question at the moment. Is the FL's character the only one who remembers her "previous" life? Reason being is that although they have similar plots I'm hoping for enough of a difference in style/tone and story to not muddle my viewing of The Princess Royal. Should I watch this now or wait until TPR is finished? thoughts/opinions welcome.
It's been a minute since I've seen a romance drama where the leads could play parent and child in any other show....if the chemistry is there age gaps don't matter, but if the character is as old as the actor...I have a thing about the brain not being fully cooked for the younger person in an age gap romance...it just sort of gives an ick that I can't shake. so hopefully the character is older than Daniel.
So there is a finished drama perfectly ready. And it is canceled????
Two reason not connected to one another. 1. All Korean related projects were banned right when this was set to release. aka around 2016. This includes music, singers, actors, actresses. 2. By the time the Korean entertainment ban was lifted the ML had been embroiled in a tax evasion scandal that completely wiped him from the Chinese internet. Any unrelease projects he had are permanently shelved. (this is true with anyone who has a tax scandal in China. There are hundreds of fully filmed and edited dramas and movies that will never legally see the light of day.)
I think i would hate it less if they named it something else. Because this show has almost zero resemblance to A Love So Beautiful. The FL role has zero charm imo.(i'm not talking about the actress i'm talking about the character.) They completely 180ed her characterization to the point they have almost nothing in common with one another. With Kiss Me being under a different name it was easier to except any changes they made. And the changes they did make imo were way better than whatever the hell this is(completely different network and era). GMMTV please for the love of all that is holy stop adapting beloved series from China/Korea. It's giving high school fanfic production at this point.
I wonder if Viki and/or Netflix will pick this one up for international viewers. I prefer Viki's subtitles over Netflix, but lets be 100...I'll be watching these episodes the second they drop on kisskh anyway. Cause nobody has time to wait for Viki and Netflix to slow drop a banger.
