Opinion : don't those actors /actress read the story or scripts before agreeing on a role in drama? Drama is so…
From what I've heard from Chinese social media, they(or some) were given multiple episodes worth of scripts before signing on for the production. After they started filming they scrapped all but ONE script that the actors had previously read. Aka the entire acting team was blindsided by the changes made. But because they already signed on they couldn't get out of the contract. I believe this is Allen's last project with his previous management team as well.

Very much worth watching. I think of all the dramas I've watched it has one of the best endings.
I'm not sure anyone has it in the original order anymore. I'm not even sure how it was reedited, as in the exact differences between the two edits. I wasn't taking extensive notes on it at that moment in time(I usually go back and rewatch at 2x speed for synopsis notes) and by the end of the week(aka the days off work when I do my most note taking) the show had already been reworked to a different edit. I went to show someone the show and was like...what the what is this.

이운 --> Yi Yun*김우희 --> Kim Wu Hui (or Li Yun, as for this surname usually an exception is made…
For 운 I spell it as Woon for 윤 I spell it Yun.

With 이 if it's a surname for royalty I normally do Lee in my head if it's apart of the main name then it's Yi. I don't know why, when I pronounce them the same E sound. I think this stims back to early subs I watched on Drama Fever and when Viki was still a fan translated platform. RIP DF you have been missed. RIP translator notes on Viki, you have been greatly missed.

Looking over a lot of the older drama notes I took I normally end up just writing out the hangul names instead of even bothering to translate it to English.

I'm so behind i think I paused episode 10 or 11 can't remember. But work plus other shows and dramas airing right now had me distracted. The writing is just very much giving 2000s drama the kind I first started watching in 2009/10 that were from the mid 2000s. I'm enjoying the performances, but the writing has me breaking my neck in confusion half the time.
I'm looking forward to all of the actors future projects and praying they didn't get the rug pulled out from underneath them like they did on this production. They had a whole bunch of scripts before production that the actors sign on the project for only for production to just use ONE of those scripts and scrap the rest. So pretty much no one we see on screen knew what they signed up for.

Kang tae ohs overacting of dal is so cringee, I cant wait for this body swap saga to end or at least they figure…
I'm wondering if the actors had a chance to rehearse the scenes how they would play it in their own character for the other actor for continuity. Some productions do this others don't because of time constraints. As things are usually filmed out of sequence and add on the amount of night shoots they seem to be having they might not have had the time to rehearse. Also the director should have noticed and pulled him in or the editor could have taken the least exaggerated take.
Tae Oh does need to bring it down just a tick though. I'm just saying the buck doesn't stop with him alone as there are many hands that make a drama.
Kim Se Jeong has always kind of given off a masculine energy because she's a very confidant talented woman who isn't afraid to stand up for herself. So she already has that "Crown Prince"/royal vibe down. I'm not sure if Tae Oh has any stage experience(not talking about his idol days but plays/musicals) but I've always found the ones who can play the best "girl trapped in a man's body" characters are the ones who have the practice that comes with drama school/stage work. As a lot is just learning to mimic and be loose with you're own body. Please tell me you understand what I'm talking about with drama/acting training exercises?

Production should have paid closer attention to continuity overall with the performances.

are u talking about 2fl ... cuz her ears are weird.
Yes. It's very obvious on my tv that she's had cartilage harvested from at least her right ear(she's generally shot from that side more than her left side) for the close up side profile shots.
I've noticed it in some other's as well, but normally you can't tell cause scarring is generally minimal.
I just think she might have a condition when it comes to the healing process. I can't remember what it's called scientifically, but fluid builds up/scar growth and can cause permanent damage to the skin which is hard to repair fully because it could happen all over again. like a keloid scar, but different.
I've seen martial artists in Cdramas with cauliflower ear, but that was from sparing/fighting and continued blunt force trauma. I can always tell when an older actor could potentially kick everyone's ass because of their ears. Looking at you Dad from Blossom...looking at you.

It's very much giving Secret Garden vibes at the moment. Humor and past related trauma nightmares and everything. I like the inclusion of her experiencing his nightmares. I just hope that they switch back soon or are eventually able to switch back and forth like they do in 'Secret Garden" as it would make for a much more interesting dynamic. It's always hard to fall for a ship when all you can think about is them staring at their own face as they fall in love....I can't not think about it.
Lee Woon and Woo Hee have an interesting story and the performances are well done. Still have some beef with the actress, but she's doing well in the role. The stoicness works for this character.
Good blend of comedy and more serious plot points. So far so good for a little before the midway point of the drama. The next few episodes will determine if the pacing is actually good.

PS: I swear it feels like every platform translated everyone's names slightly differently, so i'm going based off of what I hear as I haven't looked up the hangul spelling to double check my preferred romanization spelling yet.

Are you just here to be mean?
in general, nope. to her...yes. its a known thing she has got a leading role and was widely criticized for her poor acting and lack of facial movement. it just so happens she's now in a role where she needs to hide her emotions...so perfect fit.
I try to not criticize appearance of actors/actresses but I will when they immobilize their face at the detriment of their own acting ability. she's a beautiful woman who can only open her eyes wider to show any change in emotion. that is an issue in the medium of film aka moving images. Great for runway & still images though.

okay, to anyone wanting to become someone in the entertainment industry.
Do NOT take cartilage from your EAR when doing cosmetic procedures. Take it from your rib. The camera can see the scaring more clearly on your ears in a average medium shot, god forbid you have a side close up. I thought it was cauliflower ear at first then realized she wasnt a pro-athlete.
Also do not book any projects that start filming within 4-5 months since your last immobilization treatment...you need to be able to move more than just your eyelids.

it's something that has become increasingly more prevalent in recent years & with how HD every production is, its hard to overlook/miss these things. even more so in a period drama where ears are very visible.

They made her intelligent and gave her a damn poison detector and yet....here we are. All to move a plot along…
in the palace where she has been almost killed at least twice already & she has a glowing poison detector & something that repels poisonous creatures from her & she's not waving it over every meal & drink? & not wearing it at all time? 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤡 the writing doesn't make sense. they keep dumbing down her character to fit whatever plot they need to happen.

She carries a whole ass poison detector around her waist everywhere she goes and somehow is STILL poisoned! MORE THAN ONCE. ARE YOU FUCKING JOKING RIGHT NOW? Who wrote this? Seriously, there is nothing in this character's past history to be THIS stupid in the palace. Even if she trusts her father it doesn't matter. So many people want her deader than a damn doornail and she doesn't wave that little fucking pendant over every meal and drink? Be so fucking for real right now.
This is poor writing. I don't understand why they take away her intelligence every time they want the plot to progress. It's lazy, about as lazy as fridging your FL to further the plot of the ML, which this is getting pretty damn close to doing.
No wonder people were calling her character stupid in the comments this week. When they write the character so OUT of character it gives the viewer whiplash.
Xiao Huan doesn't communicate about very simple things that then cause bigger issues even though he has no loyalty to the person/people who wants him to keep secrets from CangCang. She might not believe the truth at first, but it's better than whatever the hell is happening here. Because then MAYBE she might start to actually question things and be able to PROTECT HERSELF.

Will I continue watch....yes...why...i honestly don't know at this point. Spoiler tag because duh and also I hate coming into a comment section and only seeing negative feedback. The performances are pretty solid, but this production team is doing them hella dirty.

Liu Meng Rui and Yu Cheng En should play siblings in something. They look very similar/have a similar demeanor/vibe. I would need to see them actually next to each other to be sure, but I was watching episode 10 just now and I was like "she reminds me so much of Yu Cheng En right now".

links to their profiles below so you don't have to go searching for who I'm talking about.

I bet she's pregnant thats why they are getting marriedwhy bother to marry when you've been together for 10 years
Korean celebrities, I've noticed, tend to marry when they are either pregnant or plan to become pregnant/parents. There have been a few times I've seen confirmations of situations where a baby didn't follow within the same 12month time was because unfortunately the pregnancy didn't make it to full term. So TaeOhfromKorea isn't wrong in concluding that they are most likely expecting or at the very least plan to be expecting soonish.
Other factors for the long wait could be attributed to his health and wanting to focus on that and then reestablishing his career post recovery/remission. There could also be family things that we aren't privy to that could have delayed marriage or brought the official documents to the table. Sometimes people have to work through their own issues with the institution of marriage. (Also the wildest reason I've seen for a marriage delay was because of contracts that had prevented a union from taking place without having to pay penalty fees. eew I don't like it when companies don't treat their employees and contractors like human beings but rather like products to be consumed.)
Either way I'm just happy they are still happy together and want to spend a day celebrating with their loved ones. They are very lowkey but have never really hid their relationship. I'm honestly shocked they even announced it beforehand and didn't just release the news after it already happened.
