Tell me if this is not ok and I’ll take it down. But I’d love to know…. What are people watching to fill…
i was trying to see what you were watching/have watched...girl put some of those in the 'On Hold' folder or back in your 'Plan to Watch' lists....I can't stop laughing because I was like I was endlessly scrolling to find the end.

He tries to block all her attempts of finding a husband 😂
This was directly referring to the scholar who she doesn't know going to her father and like "Oh yeah we're engaged now" BITCH....she hasn't even had a five minute conversation with you.

The audacity of a man that has never spoken more than maybe 2 times to a woman to get offended when she doesn't…
No this is about the scholar that sees her at the banquet for the first time and is interested in her when she navigates the dish situation. He then proceeds to be around her at different occasions but doesn't ever really talk to her at length about anything. He is a fan of hers who overstepped in his abilities. Other than what he sees in public he knows nothing about her or her family. If he did, he would know that going to her father without speaking to her first was the best way for him to forever lose any ground he had to stand on with her previously.

Spoilers for episode 16
The audacity of a man that has never spoken more than maybe 2 times to a woman to get offended when she doesn't jump at the chance to marry him is fucking wild.
To not even ask her first before showing up on her doorstep to talk to her father. He deserves to be embarrassed....but all his little temper tantrum tells me is that he is a small man who would fall out of love with her quickly and resented her intelligence if he ever failed.

At work? Knowing the first 5 Eps were emotion wreckers? Being mentally prepared doesn't lessen the impact for…
I went into this show completely blind and did not even think about the fact they seemed really happy at the end of episode 5(always know shit is about to go down if the whole main cast is happy prior to the final 2 episodes) so I just let it auto start playing episode 6 while I was working on my office work and having a snack(Im a manager and don't really take a "break")....hahahahahaha my co-worker comes into the office and is like "ummm...you good?" I had put a folded paper towel underneath the nose bridge of my glasses as I was attempting to use my hands to eat/type but the tears kept coming.

I can understand enough Korean to not have to constantly have my eyes on subtitles but my eyes were just glued to the screen as I watched Park Bo Geum and IU's performance....PS....I just saw the bts of that episode.....the amount of special effects used blew my mind because I didn't even notice that they were on a sound stage/outside stage and not actually on/near the headland/jetty.

Love of the Divine Tree was the better production of the 5 or so that have come out in the last few months...imo.…
Everlasting Longing was okay. I just couldn't not laugh during the final arch every time the guys came on scene they had their hair done differently so I just had this mental image of them braining each other's hair really quickly and I couldn't stop laughing. 😂
I think that there was a lot of production issues with this one as well, but that mainly has to do with postproduction and the multi years it took to air because Angelababy possibly watched Lisa perform at Crazy Horse in Paris. CCP at it again. Also I now make it my mission to double check who is dubbing the voice because the voice of the 2FL was so whiny and annoying I was praying for her death the whole time even though I have since realized I really love the actress. The voice used was unbearable for me. So it was an overall 7.5/10.

Also...major spoiler for Everlasting Longing/Love of the Divine Tree, so don't read if you don't want to know the ending......

So that final of Everlasting Longing episode where they haven't seen each other in I think over a year and he doesn't ask about their child, nor do we see their child....It was a very "fuck dem kids" kind of Epilogue that had me scratching my head. Unlike Love of the Divine Tree where we got to see the domestic bless of the couple and a lovely little cubby baby strapped to the ML...(By the way I am not a person who has or wants children I just love a happily ever after with a happy cubby baby)

Who said this is a sad ending? It's just people predictions. People said the novel had happy ending but we can't…
The director pretty much had the time and budget to play a bit and film some things for, in my opinion, practice/fun. People ran with it and I was like...yall are just pissing off the director at this point.

I am begging commentors. Either type out the name you are abbreviating once in the comment or stop abbreviating EVERYTHING. I have to have the damn cast list open in another tab just to play Guess Who. Because people keep switching from character name to actor's name or using the actor's abbreviation when talking about a character's actions...it's so freaking confusing.
Or when they mention another show they abbreviate it like everyone would know that the heck they mean....

oh god I sound old

It doesn't have a sad ending. They are married with children at the end. There is another episode like a bonus epilogue. The ending of the show is more open ended for artistic reasons. But he is alive and riding toward his wife.

is there any recent fantasy drama has good acting?
Love of the Divine Tree was the better production of the 5 or so that have come out in the last few months...imo. They did a lot with the budget they had and they shot a lot of practical effects which imo grounded the show in a way I have yet to see from a lot of the fantasy costume dramas. Very pleasantly surprised also this one has a HEA. I know that's technically a spoiler but its 40 episodes so this is vital information.

I dropped Moonlight Mystique because of the cinematography/editing style/overall styling just wasn't my cuppa. Everything felt like a soundstage or set...nothing felt...real. I know that's a weird thing to say about a fantasy, but the best part of a fantasy is falling into it and believing it could be real. And the styling made me giggle too much.

If you like comedic more male centered stories ' Guardians of the Dafeng' might be worth the watch. I didn't finish it, but everyone that kept watching til the end had positive things to say. I just wasn't in the mood for slapstick humor(which the first few episodes have, don't know it if that style continues)

If you want a heavy angsty romance fantasy....Blossoming Love should do the trick.

I’m on episode 2. Why do I feel like there’s more telling than showing?
Mainly because there is a lot to set up. They do go on to show some things in flashback. But although the production quality is better with it's filming techniques the budget wasn't so big that they could go in depth with certain aspects. I've found it a happy medium as of now...ep 15.
There is going to be a lot of subtext happening. I don't know if people who can't read sarcasm or double speak will catch everything that's being thrown around the first time.

actually episode 23 or 22 they confirm their love for each other. episode 24-25 is her having to measure up for…
Episode 38. She dies along with Du'er in an attempt to lure soldiers seeking Jiang Si away. After Du'er is shot with arrows protecting her, Aman, disguised as Jiang Si, jumps to her death off a cliff. Stating that without Jiang Si she would have died long ago. She died saving not only Jiang Si, but both nations. I cried like a little bitch. So have your tissues ready.

Something that's been bugging me since the first episode.

So Zhuang Han Yan is brought into the residence after stating who she is and then passes out. She then wakes in new clothes and has been cleaned up a bit.

So riddle me this....who in the household wouldn't have informed a higher up that her body was covered in deep scars? Like from head to toe covered in old healed scars. Unless the concubine was the one to change her word would have gotten back to someone....right? Am I being dumb? Did I miss something?
