The end of episode 10 when Qing Yu comes out of the bridal chamber into the early morning light....she looked like an avenging angel. Amazing...10 out of 10 cinematography/lighting.

I have a feeling that beiyu's miscarriage was not accidental(maybe jinrui mom was behind it. We still don't know…
With the teaser for episode 13 I'm hoping that when Qing Yu gets caught by the neighbors that Ming Seung stays back. I can tell she was telling him goodbye upstairs and trying to distance herself from him but got caught very quickly when trying to leave out the back way. I just hope that he's smart enough to stay back and be ready later. Because if he tries to step in only Qing Yu will face consequences and a ruined reputation. Also people would be watching him more closely and he wouldn't be able to help her like he has been. Sworn sister MuMu might pop back up to say they were together.

I saw first ep and am conflicted about continuing. Love the vibe and slow burn, and ZJY is great as always but…
dude the Mothers are similar in those & this one. I would just wait until it's done so you can skip the scenes without the couple. It's very light on romance & more about righting the wrongs done to her sister atm. her father & his family are all trash too. I had to take a lap mid episode 9 because I wanted to rip her family into tiny little pieces. but they dont actually exist so I ate a snack and breathed through it.

(disclaimer i am feeling a bit extra emotional so my language is a bit spicy & my sarcasm a bit more cutting)

Why call the police when you can just throw away your child's clothes & bring in a different female relative to help at the sho?...yeah that will prevent your child from "going down the wrong path" of BEING HARASSED. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ
This mother's logic is so fucked I can't stand her. Your eldest daughter was a VICTIM & instead of helping your only living daughter left, you close her off from the world & bury your head in the sand all while making sure with every one of your actions that she will be bullied & othered at school.

I swear if they try to "redeem" either of the FL's parents this rating will be low as all hell from me. I will not care how amazing the cinematography & acting are by that point.
I hope she grows up, moves away & never speaks to her family again, and they die knowing they failed all their children.

only 4 episodes in and I can say with my whole chest i hate both of her parents. her father is so hand off of everything, he's useless. the mother is so suffocating & ignorant that her children suffer. the mother is also a hypocrite, she abandoned her daughter to relatives & then pretends she never existed because she died because of the circumstances that the mother & father put her in. πŸ™„πŸ˜’

okay. so im only 15 minutes into episode 2 so far & I have some questions.
How does such a poor family have 3 children? I'm assuming their births were during the stricter one child policy times. the eldest daughter seems to be at least 6 or more years older than the FL & the brother is either the FL's twin or younger brother(can't figure this bit out). so did the one child policy just not matter in certain areas? am i getting ahead of myself & they were wealthier at one point? is the older sister actually an older cousin? I am confused. send help.

I saw that in Are you the one. Where the maid killed herself after.
naw. that's day time inside. that scene reminded me of one that I had already seen. it's a night scene outside in a courtyard, all the women walk over to a basen with their backs turned. I know the ML is present. they were trying to set the FL up for something, like she gave a gift & it was damaged. like a painting or map but it's not there when they open the scroll.....Im seeing the scene but not a single face is forming. there were a lot of people in the scene so im not sure it's one of the lower budget ones....
I have watched or started so many dramas & they tend to repeat troupes & story points. the messed up part is I have a distinct memory of thinking...oh they are smart & trust each other. so I think it was the ML's idea to have the women put their hands in the liquid.

I think it’s the story of Yanxi Palace.
dont think I've ever even seen a clip of that show. im leaning toward something made beyween 2015-2019 so maybe one of The Eternal Love seasons or something else I watched around that time. I can normally recall things better so that's why I think it's something I watched once or twice years ago.

i believe you are talking about the king's woman. I could be wrong but it rings a bell
maybe. I didnt finish that one so it wouldn't be on my completed list that I was using as a reference guide. you wouldn't happen to remember which episode?

Are You The One, ep.39. Liquid will turn yellow if they handled the poison.
no not this one. it was night time outside with a stage for dancers(performers) for the banquet. they walk to a large basin of water with their backs turned & then line up to show that all of their hands have changed color except for one girl. I think the one from Are You the One triggered the memory & I've been racking my brain ever since. for all I know it could have been a Kdrama....but thank you so much!

S.O.S
need some help from fellow period drama watchers.
I'm trying to remember a show & need help. I just remember a scene at a banquet where someone/something is tampered with. They know it has to be one of the women so they all have to put their hand in a bowl of liquid. if their hands change color they are guilty. but the twist is the liquid will turn everyone's hands bluish(I think) so they actually found the culprit because she didnt put her hands in the liquid.
I can not even remember if it was a cdrama or a kdrama, but im leaning toward cdrama. my brain can't put up a single costume or face...(my brain keeps switching out all the FL's & ML's ive ever seen in a period drama)
I know someone must know what scene im talking about.

the writing was so good until now. i mean, why did they have to write a dad looking character who most possibly…
I think it shows how desperate Mi Rae was for love/attention/safety. The last time she felt that love was with her dad. When Park shows up looking like the spitting image of the last person she felt truely loved her unconditionally, she just wanted to be closer to that.
If they are doing what I think they will, he abused that paternal connection she had for him. I think she was honest with him about her connection being platonic/paternal & he liked a younger woman's attention & pushed passed what is comfortable.

I'm only on ep 1 but cant wait to know what happened to HoSu as clearly something happened judging from arm injury…
Have your tissues on standby for this one....the snot cries I've been having watching all the episodes...don't know if it's because I personally resonate with some of the characters or what, but I look like Mr. Napkin Head(The Holiday) trying to watch this show with my glasses on.

That is 100% Mi Rae at the end of episode 8.
Also I think that Kim Ro Sa's son is in the hospital & that's the bills "Kim Ro Sa" was paying and why she wants an adult guardian. He might be in vegetative state of some kind and need constant care. As Kim Ro Sa's best friend she would want to protect him as family for as long as possible. Or he might have gotten hurt and they wouldn't let her see him without being family. I hope we get a full flashback to flesh out her and her bestie's story.
I love the little insights to the older generation and how they work in the multi perspective of the different characters. How misunderstandings can start very small like a seed. If they let it stay inside them it grows and grows like a weed infesting the relationship. Only by addressing the root cause of the misunderstanding will they be able to weed out the hurt.

All I know is that if Korea ever wanted to adapt Orphan Black, Park Bo Young, Park Eun Bin, Kim Tae Ri should be the first actresses in the running for the lead.

I like the fact that Se Jin is helping Mi-rae to heal and find the right path for herself. But how did he come…
Did anyone else notice that it was the first time he called her by either of the sister's names...I can't remember him ever calling her Mi Ji prior to correctly calling her Mi Rae. Am I remembering incorrectly? Cause it was always Mi-Something or Ms. Yoo.
