I like the self awareness of calling himself her stalker.
Cause, let's all be very clear, music & lighting play a strong role in how a viewing audience perceives the behavior of a character. As episode 8 progresses you can see Lee Dong Jin begin to view his behavior from her point of view for the first time. I think when he questioned the church guy about his feelings & the rumors he let persist...Dong Jin really was thinking this guy is a piece of shit...but what makes me any different from himself...(the final variable)
The use of reflections around Lee Dong Jin in episode 8 was also a nice touch. Showing that he's also looking inward for the first time. He tried his best to be clinical & almost outside of his experiments even when he knew that he fit the main criteria(feelings for Park Mi Jeong). His actions reflected back at him...good job director.
There is a tonal shift in the music, lighting, & appearance of Lee Dong Min once he finally starts to accept that he might not be the one to break her "curse". & another shift when he gets a "second wind" with his last bit of optimism to present himself one last time.

oh....yeah the time slip is not gonna be your vibe if you can't do dark(as in theme) because most of them deal with death, betrayal, misunderstandings & rely heavily on the enemies to lovers.

it's on Max/prime I think. sorry but heads up....the ending is sad. it was very well performed but because of getting around the time slip censorship they chose a pretty effed up loophole. again great show...but so many tears.

also as an aside from my other comment I don't really consider The Double in the time slip genre. It more falls in the revenge genre as she doesn't actually die she just takes over someone else's identity & gets revenge for both of them.

some of these are it was all a dream some are told by a modern person falling into a fictional world and some are fully fictional with a modern person ending.

Scent of Time, Story of Kunning Palace
(modern FL in a fictional world)Love Game in Eastern Fantasy, The Romance of Tiger & Rose

The Eternal Love series(1-3) super low budget web show that got popular at the time & then censorship came in and changed the whole thing(no the best but one of the first cdramas I watched that wasn't Taiwanese(these were more accessible when I first started watching dramas back in 2010.

Blossom was personally my favorite in the genre because of the production quality even though they have a very limited budget. And the way they got around the time slip censorship. also we didnt have the constant flashbacks the laws of what can and can not change also made the most sense.

When the plot is getting interesting it's just 1 episode per day. What a disappointment 😕
I caught up quickly thinking that It would be releasing two episodes a day. The speed in which all the dramas I had started finished was hard to keep up with.

My apologies to all! Er Nui's breed is Akita. I originally thought it was a Shiba Inu or Jindo.
Da Huang's breed isn't listed on their profile so I would have though Shiba or Japanese Akita the dog is very small for an Akita though so that's why I thought Shiba. Jindo's to me look much leaner than Da Huang appears.

Anyone who is at ep 24 what is it like? I don't want to go off of people who are commenting on just the first…
Production wise it's pretty standard quality. Nothing is overly outstanding about the show in appearance or storyline, BUT that doesn't make it a bad viewing experience. All the performances are good. Though it's definitely the same "hidden identity" "royal power struggle" "reborn/do-over" trope fest, it's an enjoyable watch. I watch too many dramas in this genre to say that it stands out, but so far it hasn't bored me. AKA if you have the time to watch it and you like the actors it will be worth it.
Now that we are finally past the halfway point the royal power struggle is only just beginning as his identity has been outed. As he holds military influence and the Emperor's favor the other princes and royals are acting accordingly. (again if you have watched enough period Cdramas the storyline isn't anything groundbreaking, doesn't take away the enjoyment of the performances)

As a ballet/pointe teacher all the dance scenes I cringed so hard 😅 specially the ones where she had pointe…
yes. Might have been harsh but always with love & attention. I never got to en pointe because my turnout remained honestly...tragic. Was no way they were going to let me break myself attempting en pointe if I couldn't even get proper position in my ballet flats. Great teachers very mid student...aka me.

Yes they are first cousin but with different surname. ML is a 7th prince of Zhou Dynasty (so his surname is Yu…
I knew about not being able to marry into the same clan in Korea & Korea's roots in Chinese culture/rule. I got curious after watching a few period dramas.
European history is much shorter than Chinese history, and American(which is what I am) history is about the length of a sneeze in comparison to Chinese history.
If you have any English language Chinese history books that you recommend I would really like to learn more.

yeah that would have been the smarter thing to do.
I just dont want to come off too harsh in my review so I just keep rereading it and editing it like I'm turning it in for a grade. Even though an 8.5 isn't low(imo) a part of me feels the need to defend WHY I think it's an 8.5. Does that make sense?

Thank you for the breakdown of can marry vs can't marry. Very helpful. Also either you had this on lock or you are an extremely fast typer. either way thank you for the swift detailed response. 🥰

does anyone know if there is a way to save a draft of a review other than just typing it up in another place first like word or notebook? I wanted to sit with my thoughts before posting my finally review.

okay so im barely into this drama(episode wise) but I have a question. Am I correct in thinking that the ML's aunt makes FL jump off a cliff after writing a letter ending their relationship so that the ML can marry her daughter....aka his first cousin? am I getting that connection correct?
I've read Jane Austen I know first cousin marriages happened all the time, I just want to be clear about his relation to the psychos trying to get him married into their family.
