I think this is the most I've ever seen Zhang Ling He smile in a drama....ever. I know him to be a really smiley person on variety shows, but most of the characters I've seen him play are the serious guy trying to solve a mystery. With this and Our Generation(Cherry Amber) coming soon, I hope to see more of his humorous side.
If you like Zhang Ling He and romance period dramas and haven't already added Zhu Yu(Chasing Jade) to your Plan to Watch list, go do it now. Same director that did Blossom and the writer of Love Like the Galaxy...and because Blossom did so well they got a boost in their budget. They had just started filming Zhu Yu when Blossom was airing.
Eek just started and I'm not sure how to feel about this π« I wish the male lead weren't already enamored so…
As a fully grown adult with a fully formed prefrontal cortex I simple see the issues and remind myself that this is fiction with pretty pretty people and proceed to giggle and kick my feet. Also the size of these people's apartments keeps reality suspended for me easily. So my advise, turn the HR(moral logic) side of your brain off when watching. Cause I definitely glitched when his grandfather was encouraging him to go after a patient romantically by using medical files.....We listen and we don't judge.....(we judge a little though...on the inside)
im ep 5 rn but i really need to knowwhat ep do they get together? (or is that out yet)cuz I saw so many short…
She is only just coming to understand that she might have romantic feelings for him in episode 8/9 when she has a misunderstanding. episode 14 is the midway point of the drama so I wouldn't expect much till then.
Oh my God with watching all three episodes Iβm back on that reveal of misunderstanding thing and yet again the…
I have never seen someone so happy to find out that the girl he likes thought he had a kid. Like "oh...so she likes me.....so I have a chance....okay okay okay....be cool, be cool, be cool."
I remembered watching him in Falling Into Your Smile and thought he has potential. Howβs AH?
Really good so far. There is a crush square though that I haven't seen the likes of in a long time. I don't think people would like it if they don't like messy feelings. Cause it covers the teenage years...lots of angst. All the acting is good. They are really getting the details of different emotions. The parents are interesting and love their kids in different ways. It's not going to be for everyone, but I think it's a little gem.
Love square: A guy(athlete) likes a girl(writer), who likes his best friend(Top student), who likes a girl(country girl), who is completely oblivious to romantic interests, who is best friends with the girl the first guy likes.......you see...love square. (I really don't know where to put the proper punctuation for that sentence...i did my best.) The jealousy layers are soooooo well done though. It's honestly bringing back flashbacks of high school.
Really want to see Su Hao An and Zhong Si Qiao be together. Any reader of the novel know if they eventually will…
They were such minor characters that other than being a rich partner in Sang Yan's business, and her being Wen Yi Fan's childhood friend I honestly don't remember anything about them. I was under the impression at times reading the novel that Sang Yan just tolerated Su Hao An, and wasn't actually close to him. Maybe I had the wrong impression, but yeah...I only remember them as the catalyst that brought the two leads back into each other's orbits...aka bringing Wen Yi Fan to Overtime, and then finding Sang Yan an apartment on short notice. We never see or hear about them in the novel unless it directly involves Sang Yan or Yi Fan.
So weird seeing Zhai Xiao Wen in this again after having started 'Always Home'. The First Frost was the first thing I had ever seen him in(that I can remember) so to start Always Home midway through The First Frost, it gave me a different perspective of him somehow. I've been watching AH between episodes of TFF and The Best Thing airing. I got off work early today so I was able to catch episode 19 right when it posted on Youku. Can't wait for tomorrow...iykyk.ππ‘π
Okay, I will NOT be visiting the comment section it seems. Because I was having a lovely time laughing about a stupid and cute misunderstanding and then had to read the comments. It's always the lighter fluffer dramas that get the most nitpicky people talking shit in the comments. I'm going to bed.
i can just see Bia Jing Ting chosing that shirt for the confession scene...gotta show that collar bone/throat...little bit of peck action...yes yes...very nice very nice
so it's ml who chasing her even when it's her who break his heart!?
They never dated in High school. He always loved her & unconsciously did things that she liked. Started playing a game she liked, made a business that she would enjoy going to...etc etc. Yi Fan is like gravity, always pulling him toward her whether he can see her or not.
He was always her Sun...warm, guiding, but sometimes too bright to look at. She didn't feel she deserved him, because she was made to feel unlovable by those who are supposed to love you unconditionally. She felt tainted & dirty & that he was too brilliant, too shiny & clean & bright to tarnish.
He can't be left behind again by her and be left floating without his gravity. She has to reach out & pull him back to her, herself. His cockiness is hiding his fear of rejection & abandonment. She has never gotten to experience a normal coming of age...she is naturally shy, but he makes her feel brave.
Argument before planned visit to Sang Zhi, but they never break up once together. Just learning to communicate better as a couple, and trusting that he would never judge her for anything.
Sometimes I think about Sang Yan's inner emotions like the Inside Out characters. Cause so much is happening up there as he tries to remain cool, calm, & collected, but it's sooooo all hands on deck.
This is the second C-drama ever I've watched. The last one I watched sucked because ML was really toxic and controlling...…
For your non-toxic, green forest romance watching needs.... Hidden Love(sister story to The First Frost) When I Fly Towards You(same author as TFF & HL) Amidst A Snowstorm of Love(beautifully shot, you will also love all the extra eye candy) The Best Thing(currently airing, but will be spicier than the others just based on teaser/bts) Love Me Love My Voice(very slow burn, not a lot of plot, but amazing music & cotton candy vibes, his speaking/singing voice will keep you coming back) Exclusive Fairtale(friends to lovers youth) You Are My Glory(the gaming part can be boring but Reba & Yang Yang did get, honestly his best work that I've seen) The above were all modern dramas...let me see which period dramas can work too... Blossom(seriously a must watch period drama...do it...do it do it) Love Like the Galaxy(im hesitant to rec this one because of it's length & subject matter but it's Lusi & Leo, so...I would maybe build to this after Hidden Love & Amidst a Snowstorm of Love) New Life Begins(same lead male as TFF, Bia Jing Ting, girl power/friendship above all, funny & heart felt) Destined(Also Bia Jing Ting, his character is a bit of an ass at the beginning but you will love him later, also reel to real lead couple if the rumors are trueπ)
i am yet to watch the episodes (will watch in a couple of hours). pleasee someone spoil me whether the episodes…
episode 17 had like i think 10ish minutes of second couple stuff...tbh I 2x part of it and skipped the rest so can't tell you exactly how long. 18 only followed Wen Yi Fan(mainly) & San Yan.
Does it have a connection to Hidden Love? I just thought the screenwriter was the same.
Same author NOT the same screenwriter. In this one*The First Frost) the Screenwriter/Director(it's the same person) he has taken a lot of liberties with the source material and added an entire subplot that has nothing to do with anything the original story had. He also constantly adds things that weren't in the original story that imo shouldn't have been added. The main love story though is pretty accurate to the original source material.
Why does she want to study abroad? The cons outweigh the pros, and what even prompts someone to study hotel management,…
Getting a masters in Hotel Management or Hospitality can be extremely important if you want to climb the ranks in the industry. Education in this field might not seem important to people on the outside but in places filled with extremely wealthy people, hospitality/management is EXTREMELY important. You are sometimes tasked with juggling many egos and personalities from a multitude of cultures including hosting royalty or world leaders. Businesses making multimillion dollar deals etc. What she is seeking is a means to be in upper management of a 5 star hotel or resort instead of middle management or a lower ranking hotel. This isn't a Holiday Inn situation, this is a business hub, luxury escape, meeting of the tycoons type of situation. There is a world renowned school in Switzerland called Ecole hoteliere de Lausanne or EHL for short. I'm assuming this is the school she is looking into.
There are actually a lot of pros to going as well...it's just that her family is so "marriage & babies" focused that her dreams don't seem important. There are genuine concerns when it comes to being a female in any industry trying to seek employment after a certain age, because misogyny and discrimination are everywhere. But if her dream is to be able to be the best in her field higher education is the way to go. She was held back by outsiders before because it was "inconvenient" for them, she is finally free of that and wants to do what she had always planned to do.
They really captured Sang Yan's longing and heartbreak in university. "Throwing away my phone....it doesn't work anymore." Because he can't get through to her, he no longer sees the point in keeping the phone. (He obviously keeps it, as it was one of the only things to survive the fire at his apartment.) It's easy to see why Duan Jia Xu and Sang Yan became the closest of the roommates. DJX actually notices Sang Yan's sadness. Just like Sang Yan can tell that DJX needs help. They end up relying a lot on each other during this time as neither one has the capacity to people for long periods of time.
