Hahaha see ? Art was right all along, I am so happy that I always defended Art from delulu Mew fans. Now Mew himself…
E. Sorry for this very long response π€§
Honestly, I wish fans of Mew and Gulf would leave each other alone.
Although I don't agree with Mew providing the mental health hotline number, it's worth noting that his original response was to someone who asked why he was pretending he and Gulf are still together when Mew has admitted to having a partner. The reality is, Mew has been very clear about not even keeping in contact with Gulf.
That person also accused Mew of queerbaiting but queerbaiting is literally of fictional characters where a queer relationship is hinted at but remains unrealised; it can be incredibly harmful to apply this term to real people (a REALLY, REALLY recent example of this being Kit Connor). Mew's response, given this context, makes more sense.
Mew was saying that he has now really come to understand how seriously people take fanservice, given there are some who are STILL choosing to ignore him explicitly saying he isn't in a relationship with Gulf.
Actually, I think most people are aware that Thai BL fanservice is generally inappropriate, a plain and simple money grab and that it is advertising; not a depiction of a real relationship. Most can agree it goes too far. But the person Mew responded to doesn't seem to be on the same page. And the reality is, even though I do personally think that level of fanservice is gross and deceptive, it's not as if it was Mew alone who was taking it "too far". People blaming it solely on him are being disingenuous about the situation; acting as if every other Thai BL couple hasn't been doing the same, acting as if Gulf wasn't doing the same with Mew, etc..
Since the beginning of TharnType there has been a fanbase for Mew, Gulf and for Mew x Gulf, and there has ALWAYS been contention between the fanbases. There are crazy Mew fans (hence Mew's blunt post; because he hasn't been able to get through to them) but there are just as many crazy Gulf fans. And we all know there are also many crazy shipper fans.
But it is truly too much that the actors have distanced themselves from each other and yet the fans are still going at it.
Also re Mew and Art, the situation was resolved mostly (but not entirely) privately between the involved parties. They have interacted after the reconciliation (I believe they went to a casting together). Since that, the actual issue has been that every time something happened with Mew, people would dig up the old videos (of Art) and then some Mew fans would attack Art all over again. I don't like that Mew hasn't spoken up in response to this behaviour and I do wonder about that. There are many reasons which would make this lack of response understandable (not wanting to bring more attention to the issue, having already decided with Art not to respond, not being fully aware of the severity of the hate, etc.) but also many that make it seem unpalatable. Too bad we don't know the full truth of anything. Everything needs to be taken with a grain of salt when we are considering celebrities.
do you guys know any similar dramas like this? i mean idol leads or something
Maybe the Chinese drama "The Day of Becoming You"? I haven't seen it but the rating is 8.5 and it's about an idol who swaps bodies with a reporter π
Oh dear was I the only one who found the lead girl annoying? (Donβt come at me with why are you watching Jdramas…
I think the fact that she was Dan's teacher, knew he was passionate about music since school, thought he was talented and has (in some sense) achieved his dream is reason enough to cry.
At least from my experiences, it seems realistic; when I was completing placement and was speaking to teachers, many mention seeing students years or sometimes even decades later and feeling strongly about their achievements.
But the additional layers are that 8loom is singing the song she liked (back when Dan was a student) as well as that she is now someone who has "given up" on her own dream. To see her student who was close to doing the same giving it another go, it make sense that she was emotional.
people who want their favs to debut just cus of their visual and not talent is weird
a lot of the contestants people have mentioned below are former idols, former contestants on other shows, etc. where they have already shown their talent π
You're hilarious. You've seen him a few times, searched him and now, based on your search history, you're being recommended content pertaining to him. You fed your own problem. The reality is, he acted well in his most recent drama; many people were impressed and take note of promising new actors. If YOU weren't so focused on him, you wouldn't even notice him coming up for you as often as he apparently does.
I actually really like this... even from the first episode. There are some details that are quite removed from reality (some intentionally - it is a comedy, after all - but others it seems because research wasn't conducted properly lol) but it's fun so far and the acting is good!
why does a little romance bother so many people? It doesn't have to take up the whole drama, it can just have…
frankly, most dramas have romance as a major theme or at least a sub-theme. i can understand the disappointment of people who don't care for romance, especially since season 2 will purportedly have more of a focus on the same, and even more so because this drama definitely could make do without it. i personally don't mind but i still understand those who do π
Why did he become Zo π I get that the pronunciation is between 'Z' and 'J' (and 'Ch'). But this is stretching…
i was also like ???? at first lol but think it was changed based on the way he writes his name in English; in his insta bio, he calls himself 'Zo Insung'
i've been waiting all week for this episode but it was so... miserable. not in that it was bad, just sad. the lighting and cinematography was perfect, ho gae's expressions were heart wrenching... the only thing that made me smile was the kangaroo care at the end π₯Ί
