How do you know he will outshine him? You seem to be convinced without a shadow of a doubt. Anything can happen.
while SJH has been acting longer, has been in more productions and has done well, i think it's a bit early to say he will outshine HMH. kind of seems like HMH is transitioning into acting so hopefully he has been practicing his art and will perform well.
i'm glad this drama has introduced more people to Kim Rae Won... he's a great actor but honestly most of his dramas haven't been very good so it's nice that The First Responders has thus far been very enjoyable π
it's honestly crazy that so many danmeis have been filmed but truly may never air... so much money and time ;__; and the pictures for TGCF look so beautiful too
ho gae and do jin have a kind of love/hate (or more accurately respect/hate) relationship and that is unequivocally…
"a close, friendly, but not sexual relationship between two men" is literally the Cambridge definition (i.e. one of the globally accepted dictionaries). Merriam-Webster has a similar definition. i'm sorry but using the full Wikipedia definition doesn't make you right either.
at the end of the day, like i said, many people (myself included) would still just consider the relationship you have with your childhood friend a "friendship" albeit obviously a very strong one!
in my opinion, a stronger emotional connection (although always with bickering) is likely where ho gae and do jin's friendship will continue towards. but also "bromance" in film is usually used to refer to platonic chemistry between two male characters (and often romantic tropes are used but to a lesser degree than between characters with actual romantic interest). it doesn't necessarily mean that they have to be sharing their emotions clearly, physically affectionate, etc. but frankly ho gae and do jin are by each other's side in life and death situations, time and time again. call it bromance, brotherhood, camaraderie, clos friendship - many of these words are loosely used interchangeably. "bromance" is just a popular term at the moment
Notice that ,,, some people me included consider bromance male friendship, not gay love ,, that's why many say…
ironically a lot of the works you like are legitimately censored adaptations of same-sex relationships (word of honour, the untamed, guardian, killer and healer, etc.). also, "tainted with gayness" is quite rude

the definition of bromance is "a close but non-sexual relationship between two men". that is, literally a friendship. honestly as far as i personally consider it, all friendships are just friendships no matter gender, how close you are, etc. but as far as it can be considered for television, if there is a focus on the platonic relationship between two men, many people will regard it as a bromance. even more so when the majority viewership is women and the script includes tropes like love/hate, opposite personalities, forced proximity, etc.
i'm honesty just speaking from the angle of what the production would be aiming for; "bromance", close male friends, development of male friendship - whatever you want to call it - is something that is currently very popular. it is almost certain that ho gae and do jin will continue to build their friendship and become closer (platonically) and that, of those who use the term "bromance", many will consider their relationship a bromance.
Wow just reading some comments allready vexed me up. Even tho bromance is very liked nowadays not every friendship…
ho gae and do jin have a kind of love/hate (or more accurately respect/hate) relationship and that is unequivocally a common romance trope. especially within the last few years, it has become common for shows to highlight male friendship like this (i.e. give a ambiguous impression to relationships that the viewers still understand are platonic). so at least to me, it makes sense that some would label it as "bromance" even though ho gae and do jin aren't particularly close yet; the projected character development is quite clear!
this series requires the audience to suspend their belief a little bit but it doesn't bother meβit is a tv series after all! if you can do that, so far it's really fun and hilarious but quite dark too
also Kim Rae Won is one of my favourite actors but... i think i might always see Jindo Dog when i look at him now π€
