The first episode is really good. I hope the show can keep its momentum going and not fade away halfway. It's…
I'm not sure here because I haven't started watching the show but in general, I think mentioning that it seems like an actor has had plastic surgery isn't necessarily silly. I mean, especially in the Korean entertainment industry (or hell, any country's entertainment industry) where most have, it isn't a crazy thought, but it also CAN legitimately impact acting due either reshaping and/or reducing facial expressions. PMY said she has had plastic surgery quite a while ago but plastic surgery often requires touch ups over the years.
The role has been shared since the beginning. If So Min DIDN'T know that she would not be in every episode, it wouldn't make sense. The same actor plays the male lead in every episode... because his character was never played by multiple actors. It's not about sexism, it's not about throwing away JSM. It's about following the bloody plot.

you said it best yourself - you have your own way of watching. but just like that, others have their own way of watching too, as well and their own way of scoring. at the end of the day, that is the main point; there is no need to call others stupid for giving a rating that you would not. there are likely no shows where you won't think something could have been done "better" or differently... but for me, that doesn't mean satisfaction of watching was not 10/10, though it is rare.

haha, i conveyed my point poorly; i edited it earlier to correctly reflect what i meant π if you will never rate something 10 then 9.5 is your 10. so it doesn't make sense to suggest that other people using the scoring system as it is intended are acting "cultish"

if you say that you will never rate anything 10/10 then you're not rating things out of 10, you're rating them x/9.5 - and you do indeed have shows you've rated 9.5
the rating you, as an individual, think a show deserves β the rating it deserves. bear in mind that the criteria for rating a series is not set in stone. many people will primarily rate a series based on their enjoyment and engagement (which is entirely subjective) rather than based on an in-depth analysis and constructive breakdown of the use of technical components (cinematography, literary techniques, etc.)
YOU KNOW I SHOULD NOT LAUGH>> I REALLY SHOULD NOTBUT,BUT,BUT, that school uniform is a DISASTER>>> IDK why but…
i think what throws it off is that the blazer and shorts are the same colour π€§ my highschool uniform was the same in summer but the blazer was dark green and the shorts were grey, so there was a bit of contrast. all black makes it look like the students dressed up in suits but decided it was too hot and cut half of their pant legs off π€
Originally they were only allowed 13 episodes from GMMTV company, so the director had to fight to make at least…
That's crazy... to approve a remake of BoF for only 15 episodes? Whoever okayed that... I wonder if it was because they didn't expect as much traction as it gained? Or because another show already had a conflicting slot approved? In any case, how did they not realise that the decade-plus-strong fanbase of BoF would be super enthused to watch this? Bet they almost immediately started kicking themselves for not fully capitalising on the opportunity to have a longer run time
I have seen so many people say such different things about that 'fight' I don't know what to believe so I take…
I think it's to be expected. Most of these actors are still young and often times become famous quite quickly. This is already an easy combination to make it likely that fights will occur but, to compound that, the way BL couples promote (especially under GMMTV) is that the costars are always together.
They literally go from acting for their show to acting for their fans, again and again and again - when working in such a way that you have very little time to be honest to your actual emotions, of course there are bound to be fights. Not only that but making peace without others finding out anything was wrong would require a lot of tact and even more luck. As soon as fans sense or feel they see infighting, they bring so much attention to it.
I wouldn't be surprised if another major factor in there being so many fights among actors starring in BL is BECAUSE they're in a BL production. It seems that most of these actors aren't LGBTQ so again, being young, experiencing a rapid increase in fame and recognition, having a same-sex costar whom you act as if you are together with even outside of filming (as well as the rumours and speculation about relationships - and often anger if an actor actually does imply or outright say that they are heterosexual or are in a relationship outside of the show cast)... That is a lot.
In the case of Nanon and Ohm, they've actually said multiple times that they weren't super friendly in the beginning. They've also said that they fight a lot but are good at eventually making up - others (coworkers, friends) have corroborated this.
anyone who starts watching this and finds the laugh track irritating - stick it out, please! i think even for international viewers who have grown up watching shows with laugh tracks, thai humour is quite different so sometimes it might feel like the track placement doesn't make sense. but after the first few episodes, you will get used to it. i honestly feel like it adds to the show because it kind of automatically puts you in a light-hearted mindset π
For a person who dropped bad buddy...yes, it's really going to be boring π΅
No, they didn't - they're saying that Duhu dropped Bad Buddy which was considerably better than this drama... so this drama will likely also fall flat for them.
Yeah, I keep reading it as Shitting Stars even after I started watching it lmao it's awful! They wanted to be…
In hindsight I think it is very much intentional, given there's a little scribbled poop above the "λ₯" character which, alone, does mean... well... shit. And I guess it's to reflect that the stars/celebrities keep 'making messes'. But yeah, still not a fan π
How are you liking the actual show itself so far though?
He raped a minor. Excuse us for not thinking he deserves a public platform.
She was biologically 17. And that being said, if a 15 year old was with a grown adult and stayed with them until they were past the age of consent, would you then say that nothing that happened when they were under the age of consent matters? Because they stayed together? That is not moral. Not only that but so what? She was with him when she was 17 and realised later, when she WAS legally an adult, that it was wrong.
Do you know who should have realised it earlier? The man she was with, Lee, who was well and truly an adult throughout this whole case. The adult in the situation is the one who should have made sure things didn't go ahead - that is the duty of adults, to not place minors in bad situations.
Not only that the brain doesn't even develop "fully" until mid-twenties, so arguing that 17 is ALMOST not a minor means nothing - 17 is not close to mid-twenties. A 30 or 40 year old has no business being with a minor - let alone soliciting prostitution from one - no matter what you would like to think.
Re the parents, we know nothing about them in this situation (i.e. the degree to which they were involved in her life, whether they have been charged with anything, etc.) so bringing them up is peak whataboutism. Completely pointless and you're using it to divert from the actual case at hand.
Itβs still rape, he said he would give her roles if she slept with him. Plus power abuse.
It doesn't matter what the age is around the world. That's like breaking a law and saying "it doesn't matter because if I was in another country, it would be legal" - it doesn't make sense. It's disingenuous. Not only that but there are MANY countries with age of consent that is 18 (around 45 or so), so even if I entertained your point re global age of consent, it wouldn't matter; AoC set at 18+ isn't as uncommon as you suggest. That being said, I believe she was 17, not 18.
No, he wasn't convicted of deception but of prostitution of a minor.
And such "deals" are often illegal between people when one has authority or power over the other, even more so if one party is a minor. It is the same in SK too - which I provided details for in another response to you - but SK is notoriously easy of perpetrators on sex crimes.
Not only that but I never said "child rapist", nor did anyone in this thread, so why say it as if we did? Again, you are being disingenuous in your points.
My point is that he is a criminal but you would rather defend him than the victim in the case. And she IS the victim - if you don't think she is, then you're flip-flopping between saying you inherently trust the law to denying a legal outcome because you don't like it.
He raped a minor. Excuse us for not thinking he deserves a public platform.
He was convicted of prostitution of a minor. And "the woman was considered a minor only in South Korea"...? First, that's incorrect but second AND more importantly; you mean the victim was only considered a minor IN THE COUNTRY WHERE THE CASE OCCURRED? I don't see the argument there; this means that indeed she was a minor and there is no chance that Lee thought this was legal.
Also not only did Lee intend to pay her, he was also saying that he would give her roles in his productions. Which he did not do. So she was a rookie actress whereas he has a standing in acting. There is a Korean criminal code which SHOULD see this as illegal i.e. Article 7(5). But there was another famous case in 2011 where a 40 year old engaged in a sexual relationship with a 15 year old after promising that he would help her become an actress as he was the head of a talent agency. He was found not guilty. Pretty much anywhere else in the word, this would be considered a clear case of grooming, rape and a slew of other charges. Hell, actor Go Young Wook who, in his 30s, raped 3 minors and was sentenced to... 2 1/2 years...? SK has notoriously responded poorly to sex crimes.
Not only that but "why didn't her age both her when she was a minor" is such a disgusting take. Is that how you feel, genuinely? You sound like the people who find out a child has run off with a predator who groomed them online; "they chose to run away". What a joke.
And there definitely are people continue to have sex with people who rape them - whether it's because they have been groomed, because they are being abused (psychological conditioning makes situations like this hard to run away), because you are dealing with a person of authority or power (say, a well-known and wealthy actor) which sees a power imbalance, etc.
That being said, you're right; he wasn't convicted of rape. But he was also only sentenced to 10 months for prostitution of a minor, so consider the circa 2000 SK legal system with that in mind (and the fact that many sex crimes in Korea have gone well under-sentenced).
