Those shows are excellent. I rank them among my fav BL's. I loved how risky and daring these stories were. And Double Mints is certainly daring -- I mean, to have a guy help his beloved bury a body was out there. The whole sensibility of that movie was another level. It was directed by a highly respected director who made a movie called "Love and Other Cults." He was a terrific director and those actors were amazing too.
YEp, he's unbeatable for putting SJW's in their place. He and I are both middle aged and hence, grew up before such things like censorship grew fashionable . Hell, the free speech movement used to be a liberal movement. That's why I think he should be able to say shit here if he likes. If someone dislikes it personally, then block him. But to ban him outright means none of us can get his funny comments.
This was delightful, yet so bloody heart wrenching. Amazing acting for one so young - so many emotions and especially…
Yo, Andrea, we have the same taste and like all the same shows! As for that other boy, yes, I also thought he liked Chul Soo. At any rate, he was nice to him and didn't make fun of him when those boys stole Chul Soo's love letter.
His names are the best. He called the guy on Unintentional Love Story "SpyKid" and one of the brothers on Minato's Laundry "Morticia Adam's Brother." It was perfect cuz that dude really was creepy.
I can't believe Kissasian did that. Now that's really messed up. And Billibi is now down so that limits your places for Asian BL's. Kisskh is still out there though.
LOL, you know all his former names as do I. You and I also find him funny. I think it's cool to just block him if there's a problem with him trashing a show. But why ban him outright? That means people who get a kick out of him like you and me also can't see his stuff.
And like you, I thought he was funny as hell. He remarked on Unintentional Lover that apparently when one has a fever you should only sponge bath the half of their face that's closest to you. And how those lanterns they threw over the ocean were going to choke dolphins. But he got banned after that show.
He came back as PickleJuice, but when we all recognized him for saying something funny about another show, somebody reported him again. He has a new name now, and he's been on his BEST behavior. I'll PM you his new name.
MDL is funny, cuz they don't have a lot of manpower and unlike FB they won't tell you the reason you get banned. They seem to simply respond to any complaints by banning. I will grant the other person that this guy often fought with people, but when he stuck to trashing a show, I thought he was funny. And like you, I am tired of reading only gushing comments about BL's.
I don't question that he offended people. I am sure he did. And I'd seen some of those personal comments, so yes, I get it. But I don't get why people don't simply block him. Because I found his comments on the shows funny. As long as he does not get personal, then it's ok to stick to the show itself and make fun of it. So they should not ban him for dissing a show.
You're right to fear getting reported. They had one guy banned for disliking a BL. No, they didn't block him, but had him outright banned from MDL. That's how ardent BL' fans can be. Especially for this show.
Bingo. You said it. I got massive shit for not gushing about this show. And I even added some good points, just as you said. I mentioned how the cinematography and acting and soundtrack are all good. But the Karens came at me anyway.
I on the contrary think they showed his reasons and process on screen extensively enough for the viewers to be…
Soooo glad someone else saw it this way. I was appalled by that comment about his suicide and how it would effect her career. Hell, I was appalled by her behavior from the start. Remember her weird, demonic laugh the first time we'd seen her at the start of ep 1? She also did all the talking, when a therapist should be getting the patient to talk and then LISTENING. Overall, her attitude was abrasive which made it the exact opposite of what's known as "therapeutic."
I know it's supposed to be nice that the ex-girlfriend accepted defeat gracefully, but I still wanted to see her ripping her hair out while suffering abject humiliation.

I didn't see it fleshed out adequately, but if you did, then that's cool. Mostly, I liked the therapy sessions because Korea needs to portray mental health treatment in a positive light like this to reduce stigma. Right now people are ashamed to seek treatment and, thus, the suicide rate is shamefully high. This month 2 idols killed themselves in the very same week! Over 30 idols killed themselves in this decade. So I'm all for portraying mental health treatment in the positive manner that this show did. Kudos on that.

If the writer/director wanted us to see therapy as the motivating factor, then they should not have told us that he'd been in therapy for 10 years. Because what we saw was a guy on whom therapy was not working because he still suffered from fear of intimacy and had a pattern of ghosting those who try to get close to him. The script spent a lot of time showing his fear of intimacy, and minimal time showing how/why he decided to return to his lover.
But what was the reason for changing his mind? - Therapy works.
Well, he always secretly liked Ji Hyun, so I was not surprised by the photos he'd posted. But still, he's a guy with a pattern of running away from people even after 10 years of therapy. So the audience needed to see more of his process of getting from ghosting to accepting. As it stands, it feels like a scene is missing and sitting somewhere on a cutting room floor. And who knows, maybe it truly is.
But what was the reason for changing his mind? - Therapy works.
So it didn't work the other 10 years he was getting it? But suddenly, after 10 years, one sentence of his therapist works to change his behavior? Sorry, but this is decidedly not how therapy works.
Jae Won ghosted Ji Hyun not once, but twice in this show. The first time, he ghosted him and then, for no reason given to the audience, changed his mind. Once again, he ghosts him, and for no reason given to the audience, changed his mind. As much as I loath the logic of "I don't want to hurt you so I'll hurt you by ghosting you" at least that's somewhat of a reason for ghosting. But what was the reason for changing his mind? Characters need to have reasons for their behavior, otherwise it's just random occurrence.
