i just love the OST in this series. i am revisiting this yet again, i like the story, not perfect i know, but nothing is perfect. i really enjoyed the chemistry between the ML and FL they were the standout in this though i am really hard pressed to think of anyone of the actors who didn't do a great job. no doubt i will revisit again.

I think we need to be aware that rumours on the internet are almost always NOT THE TRUTH. I know in my country this is defamation in a court of law. I mean even celebrities who are alive and kicking are reported on the internet to be no longer with us. Its just attention seeking by someone.

I'm smiling, indeed episode 32 is rather good, even at my advanced age. but there are other interesting parts honestly.

that's a really shame, however we are all different, i really like this and thought the FL did a good job and she didn't look any prettier than some of the pretty boys we see in some dramas. She look particularly good in battle scenes when she didn't worry about being pretty but presented aggressive visuals and an aura of power. i guess you will have missed these parts. each to their own,

From what has been written it would appear that both the cheating scandal (which she later said was a prank) and the gambling thing are from the same person. Are there no laws in China to protect individuals against these sorts of malicious campaigns. It is rather sad that a person in the public eye cannot have a friendship, hobby, or indeed do anything outside of work without attracting criticism. Its a sad old world isn't it. it also harms the reputation of China globally. it does not look good.

i have only just started watching these short dramas, this is my second one, how is it that the rating for this on MDL is so low, the acting is really good, the ML and FL are terrific. For once the ML is a manly man rather than a pretty boy whose acting is questionable. hopefully more people will watch and rate this. This drama is really very good.

i am back for a top up, and not for the first time. It almost feels better than when i watched it when it aired. It is in the running for the best drama for 2025, Their has been a surprising number of exellent dramas this year, The acting in this drama has been outstanding as is the comedy as well.
i am sure to be back for another top up in a month or two.

i have watched both and enjoyed both. they are very different from one another, I liked the romance in coroners diary which started early on and is so sweet. there are gory bits but i didn't mind that as it is all about investigating crimes. Prisoner of Beauty is more slow burn but nonetheless the story is very enjoyable. i have rewatched both also. so take your pick and enjoy. I have also watch Shadow love. I think we have been treated for quite a few good dramas this year. none are perfect but can still be enjoyed. I am really old and have the time.

the debate about the ending rages on, and has done since it aired. They even had the artwork to show a happy ending, however AI was brought in and ruined what would have been a rating of 9 or above on MDL but because of the crass decision re the ending resulted in the deduction of many points to 8.3 though a good rating it could have been outstanding.
many felt that it may have been hinting at a season 2, but i don't believe that thought ever occurred to the production team.

already watched both and they are such different stories, i like the ML in both, i think he did an excellent job in both, I like the FL in this though i think the script let her down in places, the FL in Shadow love was excellent in the softer moments, of which there were many, but failed to convince me when i came to being a General and in the action scenes.

whoopee up a point to 8.5 i think it deserves another point or two. ML did a magnificent job portraying the different characters of his story. I have to say i was surprised at just how good he was. when i think about it i am having difficulties trying to pick out any poor performances at all with this drama, it was so well done. As with all dramas there are ups and downs but overall i found it very entertaining and well worth watching.

you can always add a little spice to liven it up.

oh my goodness what a brilliant series i will definitely be back for many top-ups. Cheng Lei was outstanding as ML, he was the standout actor in this series. the FL Song Yi i like and have seen her in other drama's but i am not sure this role fully suited her. I felt she didn't have that feeling of gravitas that is needed even for a female general, but overall it was a good performance by her.

oh my goodness what is not to like. sure there are little ups and downs, but overall i have enjoyed this drama a lot. perhaps those who complain rather too much are watching the wrong dramas. Cann't please everyone. But i am happy.

could it have been Manchu rather than Mandarin. just a thought.

I couldn't resist coming back for another top up. This drama is so so good. its no good comparing it with Shadow love. they are two completely different stories both have their merits. I will enjoy both.
