Thank you. It is probably because as a linguist I pay more attention to that sort of thing. Did you watch the sageuk Moon River? When the FL was the queen she used the 'stylized Seoul‑based sageuk tone', but when she became Dal she spoke in 'dialect'. It was the same with the ML when they swapped bodies. It drove me nuts. And in Queen Love and War the 2ML spoke in dialect to make people think that he was a harmless country bumpkin but when we saw him as the rebel prince in his plotting scenes he switched to the same Seoul‑based tone.

I have watched it four or five times and although I like the second series, I don't think that it is equal to the first. (I may revise my opinion after completion.)

Accents have nothing to do with whether you know a language or not. After listening to a foreign language for a long time one can pick out a change in accent if it is a very noticeable one. I don't understand Korean but I know when a character starts speaking in dialect and then switches back again.

@ Ximena: I would like to know why you think this but first, have you seen season 1? If you have not, I wonder if you would think the same were you to watch it. I am not saying that it can not be him, but if it is, his motive has to be very strong for him to risk hurting Chu Chu.

Yes, I can understand the wish to carry out her mother's wishes - that is not overly sentimental and just honours her mother. Did she actually have memories of her sister (given that she was taken away as a baby) and if she did, did she grow up loving her or just grow up being in love with the idea of loving her)? Either way, such emoting on the part of the FL is not characteristic.
