Worth it for the friendships and the music. I liked the main actors and was into the romance for the first half.…
Did he ever actually treat his sleepwalking???? hahaha They made such a big deal over the fact that he was "cured" by her, but then he started sleepwalking again because he was hurt by her, and then they admitted their feelings but she left the country.
Soooo.... is he still sleepwalking?? Or did they get an actual doctor to treat him? Did her sister treat him properly over Zoom?? I loved all the stuff with the band in the last episode, it's just so weird that his sleepwalking was the basis of the plot and it wasn't addressed at all.
Jang Dong Joo's character was the wisest most respectable friend and lover ,, he loved from a distance ,, didn't…
I agree! He was the best person in the show by far. I respect that they didn't just throw him with some random at the end to make a super-happy ending (or with the best friend, which would have been cute but cheesy). That being said, I would totally watch a spin-off where he finds the love of his life. :)
I absolutely agree! I was bummed by the very brief reunion at the end but I really enjoyed the show overall!
I agree. It was the only part I was disappointed about. There was SO MUCH build-up and then they didn't give us any pay off. Are they even back together?? She didn't contact him at all. Why would he even think she still likes him? And what... he's her landlord now? It was a strange way to end the main romance of the series.
Worth it for the friendships and the music. I liked the main actors and was into the romance for the first half. They fumbled it in the end, though. All that build-up for very little pay-off.
LOVED the evolution of the band, though. They did a good job making you care about all the bandmates,
At first I hated the baby storyline. I thought they were pressuring her into having a child, and making it THEIR decision instead of hers. But I will admit, by the end of the series, I loved their little family. It could be argued that if she REALLY didn't want it, she wouldn't have been convinced so easily, so that's what I'm going to believe. I also loved the message: that all families are different, and they are all valid, no matter how unconventional.
The friendship between Ou Wen and An Na was beautiful. There wasn't jealousy or fighting "over" Mark. They just supported each other and became a family.
I mean. **sigh** I have a lot of issues with the writing and the plots that went nowhere. But overall I got attached to the characters, and that's really what a show is about for me. So I would watch a season 2 if they made it, but only if a certain someone miraculously comes back.
It's quite distracting but I believe it was intentional (creative choice of the director) to emphasize how chaotic…
Yes, I agree it was a creative choice. I understand what they were going for, but I wish it wasn't quite SO shaky. It started to make me feel a bit sick. And it was such an intense, important moment, I wished I could just enjoy it.
Was anyone else super distracted by the shaky-cam in the last scenes??? It was a VERY IMPORTANT scene, and I couldn't focus because the camera was shaking and shifting so much. It gave me a headache.
I never understood why Pran's mom didn't want him to play the guitar, and why him playing in a show at school…
Yes, these are all good points. I did like how in the end the mother left the guitar on his bed, recognizing that he should be able to make his own choices.
I also liked the subtlety of the family story at the zero waste village, when the mom of Junior said, "He's 8, when I was 8 I wanted to be a pirate." Parents can't just back off and let their kids make ALL their own choices, there has to be a balance. I like that they implied Pran's mother just hadn't found that balance yet, but maybe she did by the end.
Truly one of the best BL series I've seen. Like others have been saying, it didn't have any of the problematic…
I never understood why Pran's mom didn't want him to play the guitar, and why him playing in a show at school would make her angry enough to make him change schools. Oh, and how was that Pat's fault? I was confused about that part of the storyline, but not enough to make me enjoy the show any less. It's still a masterpiece.
OH, and this isn't a complaint, but I was hoping that it was Pran's family that was ultimately in the wrong, because then Pran's behaviour could have bridged the relationship. He saved Pa, he helped Pat get out of trouble with the gun thing, etc. Having it be Pat's dad who screwed over Pran's mom makes it unbalanced.
But like I said, MASTERPIECE. I would watch any show by this creator.
Truly one of the best BL series I've seen. Like others have been saying, it didn't have any of the problematic tropes that are found in other shows, and the acting was simply wonderful. The chemistry between the leads was FIRE, and they didn't need over-the-top intimate scenes.
There were some things I was curious about that I don't think the show ever addressed...
Help! I'm only one episode in and I already ship the Prince with his bodyguard. This show is going to Second Lead…
Yup, just finished, and I definitely feel the prince ended up with the wrong guy. BUT, I'm just going to assume that they become a thruple in the future.
ALSO - did you guys interpret the ending that Geum also somehow made it out of the painting / timeline and adjusted to the future before finding them? Or was he reincarnated? And if so, does he remember them? Or was he just smiling back because two cute dudes were smiling at him? haha

I just have one question.... (in the spoiler)

"Because it's what you gave me."
❤️
