Salute @Major. Just finished #35. Looks like this drama will end off with the Continental Elite Tournament (CET)…
Dang I'm so woefully behind lol. Ok that comports with what we were all guessing. Now I'm just wondering how much of it they'll change. If they don't, you're in for one epic ending. I wouldn't consider it cliffhangerish in the strictest sense because it is a stopping point, of sorts. But it will leave you very thirsty for more of DD for sure. Fortunately, you can then start the donghua which is the definitive version anyway lol. It's passed the halfway mark and well beyond the dramas end, if our thinking is correct.
I know right, Flander, Oscar, Ning Rong Rong, and Xiao Gan are the only ones who make facial expressions. People…
I don't get the praise for XZ acting either. He looks frightened and confused no matter what the scene lol, which probably drives/donghua fans nuts. I guess he's 'passable', but Flander is the only one who is even remotely believable to me.
Maybe it's his writing style? lol. Same thing happened in JOL, scripts for other ladies were better than FL
"Even the 6yr old XW in the novel has more emotional maturity." Yup, I've been saying exactly that here. At first I thought I was slightly exaggerating. but after confirming, nope not a single bit.
OK you asked for it lol--yes she is a 100k yr SB and can talk to Er/Da Ming because they certainly have intellect…
I'm way behind in this but I'll try to answer those: 1. AFAIK it was filmed in 2018 2. AFAIK there's been 'planning' rumors but nothing conclusively beyond that. Probably trying to lure investment $$ 3. CET tournament is held in three different venues in the novel. But if Bibi Dong is in attendance, then yes that's the one where the denouement will happen. If she isn't, it's the qualifying round. I haven't caught up yet so I'm guessing based on the novel. 4. If they haven't dispensed with the Kinship romance by now this drama has ****ed up LOL. That crap ends pretty early in the novel, even though she refers to TS as "ge". It's already clear they've both fallen when they're only like 12 yrs old lol.
So basically I spoiled myself with too much spoilers about Douluo dalu, and what captured me is Bi bi Dong's life.…
Yeah Bibi's story was another wasted opportunity of DD imo, just like HLN. The author made her the ultimate villain which made no sense at all. She had as many reasons to take revenge on SH as Heaven Dou/Tang Sect ffs. Plus, she always was in love with XG, but the author just had to inject the creepy cousin thing uggh. It was the priests who should have been the ultimate villains imo. Personally, I would have preferred it if HLN was the SB--something Bibi was perhaps hiding from SH. A TS x HLN ship would have been amazing imo. XW's character was a painfully cliche and melodramtic damsel in distress.
OK you asked for it lol--yes she is a 100k yr SB and can talk to Er/Da Ming because they certainly have intellect…
S2 lol? My bet is it'll never happen. The events in S2, if they follow the novel at all, will have to be entirely rewritten because it would require a massive CGI budget. Plus I can't see the original cast members agreeing to it--far more beneficial for their careers to move on to more serious roles with more united fan bases. If I'm wrong and S2 happens, you're looking at 2 yrs minimum, probably 3. By then everyone will have moved on to the donghua/novel, leaving S2 at high risk to get murdered in the ratings when/if they return..
Tang san is too reckless Lol,always making wrong decisions.
That's discouraging to hear, being behind in the drama. That is NOT the TS I know. What made him so terrifying wasn't his power in the first half of the novel, but his tactical genius and charisma. The dude was an ally-making machine and could read opponents and battlegrounds with astonishing. quick-witted clarity.
OK you asked for it lol--yes she is a 100k yr SB and can talk to Er/Da Ming because they certainly have intellect…
Yes she marries him but that's way in the future compared to what this drama will cover. In the novel TS is the only one who secretly knows she's a SB--even she didn't know he knew. He realizes it not long after giving Shrek the herbs and his Purple Demon Eye matures to the Mustard Seed third stage. Her identity is revealed at the Continental Elite Tournament (final battle against Spirit Hall) when she drops the Yearning Heartbroken Red and the Titled Douluos in attendance see her SB aura. Then comes the denouement.
Hold on!! Someone correct me if I am wrong but is Wu a soul beast??? She can absorb soul powers but how??? She…
OK you asked for it lol--yes she is a 100k yr SB and can talk to Er/Da Ming because they certainly have intellect by then. They have the option at that point to either continue as a SB or take human form and start their cultivation anew, albeit they level-up at a much faster rate as long as they're in constant contact with humans. SB and Spirit Masters prey on each other (just SB's prey on SB's) to become stronger. It's considered absolutely taboo to take a SB as a wife and in the novel XW only escapes detection from Spirit Douluos/Titled Douluos because of the Yearning Heartbroken Red, an ultra powerful herb she keeps with her. Otherwise, she'd be in constant danger of being killed for her 100k yr spirit ring and spirit bone. #CE tournament. A Spirit Master in command of a 100k yr ring, assuming they're near Titled Douluo and can survive absorbing it, will become frightfully more powerful. TS gains XW's ring when she performs a soul sacrifice, which not only returns the SB to its infant state but then kills it since its vitality has been spent/transferred. She's only saved because TS feeds her the Yearning Hearbroken Red.
That scene where the clan leader was talking about how much they want to get a 9 leveled pagoda spirit while Rong…
LMFAO are you serious HAHAHA. I'm convinced that this screenwriter secretly regards the entire power system and its laws as a childish invention--a major source for novel fan discontent imo. But I admit I can't wait to see that scene XD.
I was really enjoying this drama until episode 6. Tang San could've handle the problem in a much smarter way than…
I'm facepalming my way through every scene she's in. Even the 6yr old XW in the novel was more mature than this one. I honestly don't understand how fans can stomach her, let alone buy into a romance with XZ. A little youthish exuberance is fine to introduce her character, but she's so over the top it's ridiculous.
Yea it is. It'll follow the source material much more faithfully as the drama is basically a standalone that deviated…
I highly recommend that you do NOT watch the donghua before the drama. Start with the drama, then move on to the donghua, if drama is more important to you.
"attached to the hip like that" HAHAHAHA. Novel fans will understand why I'm laughing at your quote LOL #Crystal…
Haha, so true. It's like waiting for that knockout punch to the chin but not dodging because you know it's just lol. I can't fault the writing of the events at all, it was totally inevitable and befitting. Oh well lol.
Because they removed the reincarnation backstory to Tang San and made Xiao Wu much dumber, yea it would seem that…
Sorry I was getting lost in all these replies lol. I actually liked the TS x XW relationship and her character in the first half of the novel. It's far far better than in this drama. It's the second half where I have issues with her character.
