Because "old" K-dramas used to be 15+ episodes. Nowadays, K-dramas are cut and edited to be around 8-10 eps only. Not to mention, major streaming corporations like Netflix, Disney, etc., co-producing these K-dramas really dulled the quality, storytelling/story writing, etc., even more to appeal to a global audience.
Why is there such mixed reviews for this drama? Lolll guess I have to watch for myself to see
I personally liked it. I do feel like they could've added 1 or 2 more eps to tie up the loose details and strengthen the plot, but it wasn't a bad watch.
It's a slow burn mystery with no romance. The storyline is mainly told through the detective's pov and other characters pov - each perspectives then gets pieced together to narrate/find out who exactly is Sarah Kim.
The plot challenges the idea of wealth, luxury brands, and how far someone can go to change their fate/destiny. Don't get too hung up on *who* the FL is, but more so, on *why* and *how* she became Sarah Kim.

At first, I didn't understand either. But in the last episode, she said she played no part in the brand's history. The brand's European history was fabricated thanks to words of mouth (her sugar baby) - one person said one thing, the next person believed it, and then it spreads.
And so, once enough people believed it, she turned it into reality. Playing into people's trust.
Ofc this is all fictional, haha. In real life, a quick Google search would have exposed it all 😂

Absolutely agree! Sarah Kim is a complex character. We often associate someone's name to their education, background, status, etc., but with Sarah, none of that matters as her being alive is the only verification needed for that name. Like she said, "If you can't tell the difference between fake or real, is it even fake?".
Am I the only one that enjoyed this entire drama from start to finish? From the phenomenal acting from all of the casts to the mystery plot, I was glued to my screen. I felt like the ending made sense for a protagonist/antagonist like Sarah Kim.
Even if their fates were switched, Si Yeol would still rise to fame because of his skills, knowledge, etc. Woo Seok hasn’t played in a long time since his accident... can his skills really measure up to National play? His lack of skill will soon show. 🤔
Only 2 episodes have been released, and some of y’all are already complaining about the chemistry, the plot, the FL’s personality…. everything. Waiting for a few more eps to see how everything unfolds won’t kill ya 🙄
