I enjoyed the first two cases - even though they were a bit on the long side, they held my interest through out.…
I agree with you. While I was glad to see the reunion of Xiashu and his [lookalike] wife from s1, I was hoping to see a stronger character development in Xiashu in s2. Instead, he acted like his ditsy, drugged up self in s1. I feel like the director should've developed Xiashu's character more in s2, now that he's a magistrate and won first place on the exam.
also, does anyone know if the history portion of this drama is accurate? I know Princess is based on Wu Zeitan's daughter and the Crown Prince is based on Emperor Taizong of Tang. Just curious if there's any other historical hidden eggs 😛
I like both seasons! But I think many of us find s2 to be better because s1 had built a nice foundation for s2 with the characters development & characters relationships with one another. Because of this, s2 was able to build on this and develop an even better storyline!
I love how all of the casts from mains to supporting casts all play an important role in the plot. I already want a s3 🤣
I love S2 so much 😭 This has to be one of the best dramas of all time. The fact that s2 still has the same elements, details, casts, and feels from s1 just proves how good of a team this drama has!! I usually dislike s2 for many dramas but the execution of this drama is phenomenal. 👏 I wish this drama lots of success in both mainland China AND international.
Don't let the score influence you. Obviously the system has been hacked by some juvenile. What no idols in drama?…
Absolutely agreed. It's refreshing to see a drama without any idols. I love all the casts! I love that all first and second leads along with supporting casts all intertwined nicely. They all add a special element to the drama, no matter who they are.
Only on episode 1 but my heart is squealing of excitement already! Excited to see the entire casts back together!! I love how all of the actors and actresses was able to bring their character's mannerism to life in s2 despite a 2 years gap from s1
P.S. Idky but I prefer the Princess's makeup and hairstyles from s1. She still looks good, just more mature? Her style made her looked more youthful in s1. Maybe it's just me.
I finally finished this drama. Giving this a 9.5 for the overall casts, acting, costumes, and plot. The only flaw for me was the filler episodes as the cases in these episodes weren't as interesting compared to the beginning and end of the drama. It didn't make sense to me at first, but towards the end, it made sense why the filler episodes were needed.I like the pace of the drama; not fast or slow, it flows smoothly with the rest of the plot. I see many comments about the annoying FL. She's NOT annoying. If you watch the drama, you'll understand why she's attached to the ML. She's actually smart and talented, not whiny or obsessed.
I can't imagine another actor playing Sheriff Su. YZG was born to play this role! Love, love, love the chemistry and acting from all casts. But I especially love the General and Sheriff chemistry. Awesome drama!
